Turn the head upside down with the nose pointing away from you then you will surface crochet no magic ring nine single crochets in a circle using rounds five and seven of the head as a guide. I know they say magic circle but that’s gotta be a typo in every single one of the patterns in the book you don’t do that.
I have made spirals using sc inc and slp st. On one side you increase the other side you slip stitch. But I have no idea the combination she used to create the snake. I am waiting for the pattern too.

I also don’t drink, I stayed home with my dog, he gets spooked by the fireworks so he usually likes to cuddle up with me ❤ I had ordered Michaels yarn to make my nephew a minion for Christmas and the black yarn looked just like your pink yarn like rats chewed on it or something 😅 it was flat and felt weird, it also stained my crochet hook blackish blue not sure if that’s normal or not since this was the first time for me using black chenille home slim yarn, it is very disappointing when the yarn looks like the way it does and then still have that expensive price of $11.99 CAD 😭
I haven't had a yarn stain my hook (metal) but I have had some reds stain my fingers and nails. Yes it stinks they still charge premium prices for inferior quality yarn.

I have been switching from parfait chunky to sweet snuggles lite but keep watching everyone telling how bad it got! Thanks for demonstrating as I didn’t realize how bad. I used the rhubarb color for a dragon and it took forever. The yarn dragged on my hook and seemed like it got stuck on itself. Does that make sense? It was hard to pull the stitches through and wouldn’t frog. I’m thinking I’ll try Alize Velluto after I use up what I have.

I think we really do have to go to the stores and pick it out to know what we’re getting. And call or send emails to let them know that yes(!) we do notice. Premier knows they have had quality issues and admitted so when I called. They sent quality replacements at no charge. Their CEO is Hal Ozbelli. I’d have to research the others but we, the yarn community, do matter to them they just need to hear from us. I hear ya about the masses, but I believe that every time one of us speaks up we are contributing to being one of the masses and who knows, we might just have an impact. I do believe they try to market products that they may know are inferior all for the sake of money, but when they hear from their consumers that we noticed and aren’t happy about it, they may work to resolve the issues. Just my opinion, but I’m not afraid to speak up, whether it’s positive or negative feedback. They need to hear the positive too, when they improve. It’s a pain in the butt because it’s time-consuming, but hopefully it helps facilitate good quality control and has them paying attention. Edit: just thought of a couple more points - contact the yarn company NOT the resellers or third-parties (ie Joann), keep it professional, saying “Your yarn is crap and I won’t be buying it anymore!” is not nearly effective as explaining exactly which yarn it is, including lot numbers, and what exactly is wrong with the yarn (thickness, texture etc) and that the difference from what it used to be is very noticeable, along with who you are and how you use their yarn. Robin, you and other RUclipsrs may have even more of an impact because you’re reaching thousands of people and quite possibly influencing their yarn buying choices.

Oh good it’s not just me. I ordered a bunch of terracotta for projects and was like what is wrong with this? It was thinner, slippery and almost like a velvet. I kept it but I was a little disappointed with the texture.
Thank you for all you are saying about the horrible quality of yarn that most of the craft stores are selling. Not just Michael's, it also Premier Yarn and Hobby Lobbys plush yarn. Makes you wonder if the yarn is going through one company. Thanks again for calling them out.
I totally agree with you on Michael's changes....I'm sooo disappointed and angry...I'm on a quest to find as much of the old yarn as I can. If you need another voice to add to the complaint to Michaels...please add me in. I'm not sure what I'm going to use ....there really isn't a comparative yarn out there. I just drove an hour to my nearest Michael’s today because they finally had the terra cotta in stock and every single skein was AWFUL! You can tell just by looking at it that it has a shine and is SO thin. Big twist Baby Bear has changed the formula too and I’m so bummed. It’s my favorite worsted weight chenille. 😥
I don’t know what’s going on with the yarn. I can’t imagine that all the companies decided to lower the quality on their yarns all at the same time. So frustrating!
I'm sad about the sweet snuggles light its horrible now! From what Ive heard they changed how they make it and that's what were going to be stuck with now!
