+Panduhh front end looks good as hell, but the tailights? I have noticed a trend in ugly looking tailights now. look up the new 2016 toyota prius. it looks like a saber tooth tigers teeth.
+jessejames! And that is why they say "you can't please everyone all the time". I like the rear, I think the tail lights look kinda cool. The front end though....WTF happened with that huge chrome bar? Really I don't mind the front end, It's just that ugly horizontal chrome strip in front that just looks awkward.
+Bob Hope I like the front alot but really am not a fan of those tail lights and coupe like look on this car imo that makes this civic look butt ugly. The front is great and I love that chrome bar but like you said to jessejames, you cant please everyone. If I brought it thought it would be based on the interior which is pretty nice
+Durell Makambi AGREE! That youtube 'reveal' was pathetic...could hardly see the car and had to listen to some useless music! This Autoguide 'reveal' much better .... someone in Honda's marketing dept. could learn a thing or two.
+godfatherNYC I agree. I started to notice they were making big improvement by putting backup cameras in every car and Bluetooth standard as well. This Civic looks great, but would it kill Honda and Toyota and even Mazda to offer AWD on more of their lineup?
+John Appleseed At least they finally get the equipment that the ford focus offering back in 2010. They seriously address the issues and cheap quality and engine of the previous few generations
The new corolla still looks better then this at least in the sport trim. This isn't the best looking civic ever made. Yes it looks different but it isn't the best looking one
Oh god, a civic with a turbo... all the high school honda fan boys are going to jizz their pants thinking about how they're going to mod the crap out of them with the allowances their rich parents give them.
That.. that actually looks pretty good? are we sure this is a Honda?.. I heard Punk'd is back, are we being Punk'd?.. Kudos Honda for finally stepping it up.
Just had to rant....This evening's 'live' youtube Civic reveal was pathetic.....you could hardly see the car as it was uncovered on a crowded floor level site instead of up on a platform where you might actually be able to see it!! Instead we had to suffer some musicians, less music and more car please! Whoever drummed up this 'social media' reveal should be fired, totally inadequate and no excitement. Was probably okay for the crowd down on the floor but not for a worldwide reveal. Very poor job, pathetic. Thanks autoguide for actually letting us see the car!!!
Not bad! Can't wait to check one out in person when I go to the LA Auto Show in November! My brother drives a 2003 Civic. I'm glad they finally done away with that two tier dash. I was never a fan of that design.
This car looks better than any civic Honda has produce... but as usual this is a fully loaded trim, I want to see how the Lx and mid level Ex is going to look.
+Kristoff Kristoffersun This is the sedan... which means this is mostly for the family orientated people. The best looking one will undoubtedly be the coupe. Although, for me, the best looking civic awards go to: 1988-1991 CRX 1992-1995 Hatchback or Coupe 1998-2000 Si 2014-2015 Coupe
+vader11111 Honda isn't going for that anymore; it wants to make a better commuter car, not a better civic. Unfortunately for some of us, that's how it will always be from now on because of how many sales it will net them.
+ThePariss333 Don't go with Hyundai if you're buying new. They lose about half their value in the first year alone. Worst resale value of any brand out right now.
Hydiauiiiii and Kkkkkkia Sucks I do not care about their past reputation go test drive a Kia Optima. See how you compare the steering to 15 year go cart times.
You gotta give Honda credit for breaking the boring mold, and adding some spice to this car. I really like the design, it's definitely different, coupe-like, and sporty.
Wow it looks great. Just gotta get used to it not having that futuristic 2 tiered dashboard the Civic had since '06. But this looks amazingggg. Honda is def. the best!
I'm a Nissan guy. I own a 2012 370z and wow this civic looks nice. I'm not a fan of the rims, and the back looks awful but the front looks super clean, and the side looks really nice. Good job Honda 👍🏼
I suspect only the Si & Type R will only be offered in the hatch. The 1.5L Turbo numbers might be 148 hp / 150 lb-ft. Far improved over the previous Civic.
+Wentao Feng By the way, I am considering buying a car, but lots of People told me not to buy a ford, wonder why? They said Ford stands for " fix or repair daily".....is this real...???
This new 2016 Civic looks far outclass it's competitors. A lot of features are actually only available on luxury performance vehicles that are sold at $35,000+. I am surprised Honda updated Civic so much. The design is awesome, and people are going to modify this to the levels unseen for years in this class.
Looks nice. Why is Honda getting rid of the volume knob? Those touch sensitive pads are never that good when compared to the tactile feed back of analog controls and buttons.
Sean Mangubat imo they're still not good enough, but don't get me wrong they're not bad. They're still not competitive enough against others. Though there have been rumors of a fr platform coming to acura, hopefully it true.
+Bilal Khan Well first of all honda is Acura and honeslty all they do is change their logos into acuras and they add a little bit more luxuary, for example the acura integra is a honda integra just because it looks more luxurious and had more power then a civic back then does not mean is not a honda, anyways they decided to move it to the Acura brand but its still a honda so there was no point of buying an acura other then more luxurie and better engine. This goes with infinity and lexus its called marketing they make money out of people lol also acura does not exist in Europe and Japan it only exist in the US and Canada so the acura integra is called honda integra in other parts of the world . So to answer your question i guess there is a point of buying an Acura if you think a honda is not to luxuiries for you.
I feels this will increase in price, sort of like in the Mazda 3 Grand Touring price range of near 30k. If it gets great gas mileage and spacious like a mid size sedan then it could be worth the price only if fully loaded
now i can buy a car with a turbo in full faith that it won't break. when toyota or honda puts something in a car as popular as this, they must have perfected the technology.
Does the 1.5 turbo or 2.0 have paddle shift? Cause I saw the gearbox have a "S" so does that mean it has a paddle shift? I have a Honda Civic as well 2.0 8th gen and it has a paddle shift. But that leaves me wondering, why put 1.5 litter engine with a turbo on it but as well with the 2.0.
Everything is looking good here! 1.5L Turbo or 2.0 for standard Civic that sounds great since Si specs has not been revealed yet. I'm sure the 1.5 L Turbo will be more $$$? That's fine atleast there's a 2.0! They said "The 2.0 is the first most powerful Engine put in a standard Civic" I wonder what are the numbers...
Hoping the SI will have a turbo too, tuned for performance rather than the 1.5t which will be tuned for economy purposes. Type R is unrealistic for most as it will be an extremely limited run so expect to pay full msrp + markup on orders only and by the time you get to that price range there are better options out there. SI model has always been about performance to value ratio where you can find dozens of them on the dealer lots, all with manual transmissions.
LED DLR and LED Taillights are standard. So the LED headlights is not standard? What is the standard? Halogen Reflector headlights or please make it projectors atleast
This is very beautiful. Honda did a great job here. This will take Toyota's customers if the 2016 Corolla is not redesigned. i think i will be forced to trade in my current car for this. Damn!
I wonder what the standard exl looks like. Honda usually saves the good wheels and everything else for only the model with the bigger engine which I never want. i hope the Exl doesn't come with smaller less attractive wheels. And why are the led headlights optional? This is a 'Touring' Civic and I have no idea what that means? It looks great by I hope it's not setting me up for a big disappointment when they finally arrive.
I have an idea. Why not push acura to luxury brand status, then pull up all honda line to be a little bit premium? I feel like Acura's econo-premiun status now is choking's honda's growth. Hopefully after the reveal of the acura like Pilot, that's what's happening.
Honestly, it looks really good!
+jessejames! i like the Malibu's square taillights, those look cool
+Bob Hope agreed
A year in half into my 2016 Civic touring at 21k miles and I’m still in love.
This would have made a better live reveal....Instead I was stuck watching Night Riot concert. Thank you AutoGuide!!!
+Durell Makambi AGREE! That youtube 'reveal' was pathetic...could hardly see the car and had to listen to some useless music! This Autoguide 'reveal' much better .... someone in Honda's marketing dept. could learn a thing or two.
Looks great. Almost big enough to pass off as a new Accord though.
I agree with that
+mkygod It sure looks alot like 2016 Euro Accord and Chinese Honda Spirior (Accord).
really nice. now what im waiting for is the announcement of an si AND a type r version. i think we can all agree. but *thumbs up*
This is a fucking Grand Slam. I'm surprised Honda made such a dramatic improvement, but very happy they did. This looks amazing, inside and out.
+theminkowskitensor I have to agree, I was thinking the exact same thing.
+A Sam True. I would have expected them to do it quite some time ago, but at least now they have.
+godfatherNYC I agree. I started to notice they were making big improvement by putting backup cameras in every car and Bluetooth standard as well. This Civic looks great, but would it kill Honda and Toyota and even Mazda to offer AWD on more of their lineup?
+godfatherNYC I wonder if the brake discs and calipers are rusting in 20 000 km like all the previous models...
S.T T. I wouldn't know.
Got a 2015 Civic SI and im glad that I didnt wait for this one
I love it. Who's with me?
+John Appleseed Big improvement
+John Appleseed At least they finally get the equipment that the ford focus offering back in 2010. They seriously address the issues and cheap quality and engine of the previous few generations
+John Appleseed oh yeah John ... the front really hit me ...and orgasmic experience like Ryan Idol
+John Appleseed The question is... how much are they going up in price?
I don't know why, but what I'm REALLY psyched for is the hatch version.
Lol move over corolla, a proper civic is back
Even though i own a 2015 corolla but i cant disagree with u
+fwirs You do know that a 2015 corolla is a 1995 corolla underneath that just weighs more right?
The new corolla still looks better then this at least in the sport trim. This isn't the best looking civic ever made. Yes it looks different but it isn't the best looking one
+Toyota4Life I do own the s model but man this civic looks sharp 🔪
+fwirs im in the same boat as you buddy. I wonder where our trade in value is at right now?
The Civic line needed this redesign! So far I'm loving everything they've done!
The unveiling was a complete waste of time... I learned more from this 3 minute clip
Wow. It looks really sharp. Honda is back in the game.
Oh god, a civic with a turbo... all the high school honda fan boys are going to jizz their pants thinking about how they're going to mod the crap out of them with the allowances their rich parents give them.
Rich kids don't buy civics bro...
How long do you give it until the big wings, fart cans, and giant vtec stickers?
+Ethan Shrago upper middle class kids buy civics and gtis all day long.
+MrLalasd all the ones I know buy mercs, BMWs, audis etc.
+Ethan Shrago your are totally right, I love the new Hondas but a son of someone wealthy will prefer a used bmw than a new honda
That.. that actually looks pretty good? are we sure this is a Honda?.. I heard Punk'd is back, are we being Punk'd?..
Kudos Honda for finally stepping it up.
Thankyou for this review.Sooooo much better than the launch video....
Finally..... Civic has been upgraded ...look so much better than previous generation!
Love the way Honda stuck to many of the design features that we saw on the Concept. Very exciting!
Im glad they cleaned up the dash layout , it looks a lot nicer
+Kristoff Kristoffersun
I agree we need to take a look at how the volume sellers look.
Most likely, steel rims with hubcaps, no LED drl, and probably some more exterior changes, interior will most likely look horrible
+Kristoff Kristoffersun This is the sedan... which means this is mostly for the family orientated people. The best looking one will undoubtedly be the coupe.
Although, for me, the best looking civic awards go to:
1988-1991 CRX
1992-1995 Hatchback or Coupe
1998-2000 Si
2014-2015 Coupe
+brady M led drl are standard..
Wow. I never thought I'd like a civic this much.
It has a premium look! It doesn't look cheap which is a plus I think is gonna sell quick!
I'm pro-Mazda, but I have to give kudos to Honda for making a really good looking Civic for 2016.
It actually looks really good for an economy car
Question: will it be more fun to drive than the Mazda3/Focus/Golf?
+vader11111 We can't wait to find out.
+vader11111 answer: probably not. Unless you go for the SI or Type R
+Bossy Ox I think you are probably right. But on the other hand they have Madzaspeed3/Fcous ST/Focus RS/GTI/Golf R.
vader11111 yes. i think in general if you want a sportier ride, you'd probably be better off going with the other options.
+vader11111 Honda isn't going for that anymore; it wants to make a better commuter car, not a better civic. Unfortunately for some of us, that's how it will always be from now on because of how many sales it will net them.
I saw this video AT the Toyota dealership, then I walked out
Competition makes Earth interesting.
True! Confispect1
Voltei a desejar um Civic! Se houver alguma versão com esse novo 1.5 turbo próximo dos 76 a 80 mil será um espetáculo
You gotta give Honda credit for breaking the boring mold, and adding some spice to this car. I really like the design, it's definitely different, coupe-like, and sporty.
Does it have an electric front windscreen which prevents it from steaming up, like a ford?
looks really good. Can wait to see what the coupe looks like.
all the cars this year look really cool!
Much better Honda! Time to bring back a little sports coupe though like the Prelude, I would love to see what a whole new Prelude would look like:)
Thats sooooo much better inside and out!
Finally a proper Civic!
wow, I have confused between the civic and corolla before watching this !
I suspect only the Si & Type R will only be offered in the hatch. The 1.5L Turbo numbers might be 148 hp / 150 lb-ft.
Far improved over the previous Civic.
Wow. Not bad, not bad, not bad
The best looking civic yet that finally convince me to buy it
I'm leasing a Ford Focus and I'm now thinking about the new civic once my lease is up.
honda is back yo!
Is the Civic really a "compact" car anymore? It's more of a midsize now.
Looks nice. Can we get the Civic SI info out there next please ? Honda ?
Holy....this car is just....too cool for just a family sedan....
+Wentao Feng By the way, I am considering buying a car, but lots of People told me not to buy a ford, wonder why? They said Ford stands for " fix or repair daily".....is this real...???

I can't wait to see the 2016 Si Coupe.
The most beautiful Civic ever built!
Holy shit honda is back!!!! NSX, new awesome civic, that 2&8 car and I hope more!!! Go Go Hondaaaaaa
It looks much better than the previous generation....
I picked up mine in ex yesterday :)
Will the coupe have a Type R version or will the hatch be the only available Type R model?
I love the interior!
I kinda liked the 9th gen civic. I'm still thinking about getting one
Maybe it was a god sent that i cant get my hands on a 2016 fit.
this car looks great and with a turbo may be worth the extra money for me.
wow I must say now that's a complete redesign
finally honda is steping up its game
Looks nice. Why is Honda getting rid of the volume knob? Those touch sensitive pads are never that good when compared to the tactile feed back of analog controls and buttons.
What's the point in buying an acura?
+Bilal Khan i also need an answer because what should be my better choice ??
+Bilal Khan well if you want sh-awd, but yeah Acura needs to step it up.
+Kelvin Dao Acura stepped it up, but at the same time, Honda stepped up their game as well so it's like nothing happened.
Will there be a manual transmission offered on non-SI/Type R models?
It looks pretty good! Now show me the Civic Si HFP version
Sitting here looking at an all new Civic, eating boogers, and sniffing farts. Life is good.
I feels this will increase in price, sort of like in the Mazda 3 Grand Touring price range of near 30k. If it gets great gas mileage and spacious like a mid size sedan then it could be worth the price only if fully loaded
honda finally stepping it up
I might actually consider buying a Honda for once... Nice job, Honda!
damn, that's the nicest looking civic i've seen in a long time! shit, I just might get one. I'm hoping for an Si version!
Sounds like a great little car
now i can buy a car with a turbo in full faith that it won't break. when toyota or honda puts something in a car as popular as this, they must have perfected the technology.
Will every Civic have those jewel eye LEDs or is it only for the top trim?
+WuWei Xu ...i believe its standard only on top Touring.
Will the leasing rates go up because of the new design/hype?
Patiently waiting on that turbo hatchback model.
this would make an awesome daily driver
ok so are we going to have an si any more or are we going to just get the type r instead. or maybe its a impreza,wrx,sti.....golf,gti,r thinf
I love it! Although I still think they're lacking on the rims department.
Love the rear-end.
Yay! A hatch, this make the car very appealing.
I'm looking forward to Type R. When will it come?
Hatchback version might be my next car.
wow, i want it now
Wow it looks awesome!
Nerfed ITL
Honda needs to make the cabin quiet. Most consumers do not care about standard sunroof, touchscreen etc

Wonder what the si is gonna look like.
so si will have turbo and ivtec?

When is the type R coming to the U.S.?
Civic is cool and…
Sporty!
VTEC TURBO of the 1,5 liter of the inline four-cylinder is nice with the deployment!
Honda has finally got it right i would buy this civc..
When will the 11th gen Civic release ?
this was pretty quick
Will this model be manufactured in Brazil?
That's a good looking civic. And the 2016 accord is a nice change too. Good for Honda. Let's make the Cr- V better too?
I have an idea. Why not push acura to luxury brand status, then pull up all honda line to be a little bit premium? I feel like Acura's econo-premiun status now is choking's honda's growth. Hopefully after the reveal of the acura like Pilot, that's what's happening.
Wow, if it costs less then the new MX-5 I might pick one of those up!
