I think his relative had a shop in Dehradun, Paltan Bazaar.. My mom was once shopping there (in 1990s) and he saw Shyam Kappor pic in his shop (she didn't know his name but just recognized his face) So the shopkeeper said he was relative and worked in Hindi films..
Great information. Which shop BTW, if you know the name? Though dancer / choreographer harbans papey also had a crockery shop behind paltan bazar, at the junction of dispensary road and sarnimal bazar. I met him once in his shop in the early 90s. Once again visited his shop a couple of years back n came to know that he was no more n the shop had been rented out to a saree dealer.
Harbans Papey can be seen dancing in Razia Sultan (1961)'s super hit duet "dhalti jaaye raat, keh le dil ki baat, shmma parwaane ka na hoga phir saath".

According to Shyam Kapoor Ji, the song cum dance sequence of Waheeda Rehman Ji from the hit film C.I.D. was not deleted by the Censor Board but was excluded for restricting the length of the film to avoid paying excessive excise duty. In that case, the sequence must be available with the production house. The song composed by O.P.Nayyar Sahib is still popular even after 65 years. Request Shishir Krishan Ji to make efforts to get the rare sequence uploaded.
