      As a mother of three boys, my oldest is 17. I'm glad me and his father taught him from a young age how people and this world is. My oldest is so unbothered by typical teenage drama a lot of his friends can't relate to him because he's so mature for his age. My boys aren't afraid to talk to either one of us about ANYTHING! We put trust and confidence in them early! We always got your back before ANYONE! As a parent that's all you could ever ask for. We pay attention to them so much they don't even realize it. It's like the saying "been there done that" we'll realize they may be going through something even when they think we're not noticing. Pay attention to your child/ children. You know them better than anyone & you're the one that's going to always have they back no matter what. They just have to understand that and trust that. Continuing to force this hard exterior onto your children because of what you went through or how mean the world is does nothing but pass the trauma forward. This is why children don’t talk to their parents. She’s allowed to show emotions especially in a situation like this where she is trying to navigate throughout her sexuality and is experiencing confusion. Parents need to understand that just because this situation seems minor to you it can be major for your child and how you respond plays a part in their emotional development. Have some compassion and patience for your baby’s and be grateful that these are the types of problems she may be dealing with at the moment bc it could be worse.

      Right. So, she should have enjoyed being a child instead of jumping into something she isn't mature enough to handle the ups and downs of a relationship. Fast forward 2 to 3 years later.. That emotional breakdown is just an episode on a tv show. She's over it. They were there to spend time with family; yet she couldn't focus on that because she was having a breakdown about a relationship that didn't go anywhere due to an immature arguement. Kids want to grow up so quick because they want to be able to do whatever it is that they want; until Adulthood hits them OR something like this happens and they don't know how to handle it so they look to US MOTHERS to fix it. Even AFTER we tried advising them about relationships and many other things. So you're correct, age doesn't have anything to do with it, maturity has EVERYTHING to do with it. That's why so many ADULT relationships and/or Marriages don't work out. And also, there is no DEADLINE on dating. So, you don't have to date just because you're turning 15 or entering high school OR just because you're 18 years on. People should start dating when they are emotionally mature enough to HANDLE a relationship! I'm raising a teenager and she knows when she's mature enough to start dating she can, I don't scare her out of dating.. Same with my teen niece. She doesn't feel like HAS to date because she's 18 or because she's in high school. Neither of them are in any rush to be in a relationship!

    Now if somebody told Tammy to stop bitching and crying about Waka cheating on her, she’d be ready to throw hands. Charlie is still a child. Tammy needs to stop expecting her to have the emotional maturity level of an adult. I’m sure we’ve all cried over somebody that wasn’t worth the tears. Just let her go through the motions and figure it out herself. Telling your child to suck it up and act like they don’t care is creating a sociopath. I understand where Tammy is coming from but you have to let your kids be vulnerable or else they’re not going to tell you shit. I tell my nieces and nephews they can talk to me about anything & I won’t tell their parents unless it’s something serious. I was a very supportive parent but, wanted to teach my daughter to not react to those that got off on her reaction out of jealousy! Unfortunately, lil girls were mean to her and I wanted her to get “thicker skin “ but, that was only bc that’s what I was taught as well. Marine father 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣 as parents we have to be mindful to not accidentally pass on ignorant (without knowledge) lessons to our children. I’m sure Tammy is doing this mostly out of love and a bit out of ego. Sending Charlie well wishes and Tammy peace. ✨

    Y’all are saying Tammy is wrong but you got a look at it from her perspective she been through heartbreaks so when you’re looking at your child it’s like I don’t want you to sit here and dwell on one person like it’s not 1 million 1 billion other people to love I get it people want compassion for young people trying to find love but why would you want your child to sit there and dwell on something that’s going to hurt them temporarily that they’re probably not gonna give a fuck about in 10-20 years💯

      @mndegrassi8 3 года назад +13

      She was once a child too so she should be more understanding. To charlie it's not something temporary. As a child you feel like it's the end of the world. Just try to be understanding. We been through it and we learned, so let them do the samething.

      Exactly, I’m not sure if I have the patience my dang self to witness my child get broken down by someone else’s broken child. Yes, express your emotions... but don’t come to me bout what this person did today only to forgive them tomorrow.
      In all honesty I knew my toxic situation got old, yes as I got older. However especially once my mom was tired... She didn’t care to see me cry but wanted to hear less and said less except “are you dealing or bailing!?”

    • @areelancaster7706

      if she was a child once before, and she’s been in heartbreaks then she knows how it feels to not be listened to or held on too or anything. So tammy is wrong. Tammy see her child crying in need of help, so she should be there instead of “i don’t have the patience” or “why are you even crying for” like that’s weird that’s your child, don’t matter the circumstances, your ALWAYS supposed to be there.

    The way Tammy walked off and said “nooo” just makes me cringe. Exactly why most girls grow up thinking they can’t open up. They think no one will care because the emotional support not coming from the parent, or parents

    Mothers ALWAYS forget they were the same way and treat you like your crazy. My mother is the same. Always heard "too sensitive or emotional" (I never cried like charlie though)
    Up to 13 be so vulnerable with my mom 😂 then 14-15 calm with it then late teens, I don't tell her ANYTHING anymore. I keep everything to myself. If I want to talk to somebody I talk to 1/2 of my friends.
    I think that's why daughters draw towards their fathers more. They are much more level headed and most understanding.
    I pray I don't forget. I pray I always remember my teenage days and always understand my future daughter. I pray I never call her too sensitive.

    When someone has continuously been hurt it destroys something inside of you . Whatever it was, it leaves you feeling empty and helpless (not necessarily a man, or woman, it could be anything that affects you). So, in this situation in her mind, this is b.s. so let's just move along, but her daughter is really bothered. She knows she's being a little hard but her emptiness won't allow her to be more understanding and comforting towards her daughter. I was in the same place once in my life, but thank God I've been refilled, and now I have so much more to give, as well as knowing how to receive.

    My relationship with my mom. She never showed me compassion growing up it was always stop being weak. I just wanted a hug sometimes. I was closer to my father for this exact reason. I love my mom dearly though but I’m in my 40s now and she’s still the same way with me.

    This is why a lot of African American kids/teenagers don’t go to their parents when something is wrong. Look at the way she talking to her daughter instead of trying to understand her she tell her stop crying and basically move on and steady saying she don’t have the patience. How you don’t have the patience for something that’s upsetting your only child. And for the people that justifying Tammy’s actions, shame on you!

Girl you dont need to be tied down where you are already having these type of problems with a significant other whom you might not even be with by age 18
