But that's all. This did not make him a samurai. 2nd - Fortunately or unfortunately, Japan had “male romance” since ancient times and no one really tryed to hide it. 3rd - I advise you to find out who exactly Ubisoft hired as a historical consultant regarding Japan during the time when the game takes place. I'll give a little hint - She also specializes in "male romance" of ancient Japan.

I have family from Japan and my nephew who games is insulted. They changed the history surrounding the figure from retainer to samurai which is in their history books really left them feeling insulted.

I remember the OG games having detailed descriptions of buildings, places and events that took place/existed in those era's. You were actually walking inside history. Which was of course embellished for the sake of the larger than life story.
