Rani Chandra is back and she’s got her own spin-off series! Anjli Mohindra stars in Rani Takes on the World, set fifteen years after The Sarah Jane Adventures first aired on TV.
Rani is now a successful journalist living in London but when something otherworldly threatens her beloved city, she steps up to the line of alien defence! The first box set, Rani Takes on the World: Beyond Bannerman Road features three audio adventures, as follows:

Years after her adventures with Sarah Jane Smith and friends, Rani Chandra is a successful journalist - she’s brought down a government, and her podcast is making waves. And she’s about to be surprised by a visit from her best friend, Clyde Langer - who has an announcement of his own.

Rani and Gita Chandra have been invited to a dream wedding on a luxury island resort. But how did Tiff from school end up marrying a film star? And why has she asked all the worst people from her life alongside the Hollywood A-listers?
While Gita samples the canapés and criticises the flower arrangements, Rani senses something amiss... The perfect wedding comes at a price - but who will be paying?
The Witching Tree by Lizzie Hopley
Chasing a podcast award, encouraged by a secret source, Rani investigates a ‘haunted’ restaurant built around a twisted tree. The owners could be faking the spooky activity, but Rani soon realises the tree is not what it seems.
As a terrifying threat to planet Earth is revealed, Clyde and Phoenix are dragged into the fight. Rani is torn between revealing the truth, or keeping a secret too terrifying to broadcast...
Anjli Mohindra said: “There's something so ingrained in me playing this character that has made it all slide straight into place. But also, reprising the role of Rani in 2020 for [Doctor Who Lockdown story] Farewell, Sarah Jane was a real springboard into this. Rani is such a part of me and who I am, and I'm a part of Rani, that it just happened naturally.
“I think it's gorgeous because you feel like Sarah Jane is very much a part of it and of who Rani has become later on in life. They still hold onto the life that they all shared together and the love and respect. 'What would [Sarah Jane] do in this situation?' is very much there in the background. I think this is a lovely tribute but also a lovely continuation of her work.”
Also joining Anjli in the cast is Daniel Anthony, reprising the role of Rani’s best friend Clyde Langer in the first and final adventures. And in Destination: Wedding, Mina Anwar is back as Rani’s mum, Gita Chandra.
Rani Takes on the World: Beyond Bannerman Road is available to own for just £19.99 (collector’s edition 3-disc CD box set + download) or £16.99 (download only), exclusively here. Volume two, The Revenge of Wormwood, is due in December 2023, can also be pre-ordered for the same price.

I vote Clyde and Rani for the next Tardis companions! Their character history with the Doctor and Sarah Jane would be a perfect fit for a season or so!

The Sarah Jane Adventures was one of my favorite shows as an adult and the best of all the Doctor Who spin offs! Clyde always stole the show and Rani and her family were always entertaining!
Everyone looks exactly the same. Someone needs to give Russell t Davies a ring and get them all back on tv. Luke, Clyde and Rani the dream team

Tommy's retired from acting so I don't think its likely he'll come back as Luke unless its just for a small cameo

Good to see them back. That period was really great for the "Who" universe. Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. I really wish Rani could be a future companion for The Doctor or that The Doctor meet them again.

Regarding the TARDIS question and them wanting to visiting the dinosaurs… they could take the TARDIS to 1970s London during the Dinosaur Invasion so they could see Sarah Jane again!!! And meet the 3rd Doctor!

Glad to See Rani and Clyde back together. Anjli and Daniel are wonderful Actors and people. cannot wait to see where the future takes them. It's a Strange day hard to believe it was 12 years ago to the day since we lost the Remarkable, Wonderful Beautiful Sarah Jane Smith. Aka The Absolutely Legend that is Elisabeth Sladen.

I cannot wait to hear Anjli and Danny back in action. It's so great seeing you all back together having fun, and i hope that one day you somehow make it back into live action whether in Doctor Who or a spinoff.
I know it wouldn't probably happen but I would like to see a show based on rani and Clyde's life's after the death of Sarah/Elizabeth and I would want to see them pass on the mantle of defending the earth to some new kids I'm 22 I miss coming back home and watching the show. Doctor who recently just isn't as good as it was if they brought the show back with a different name like Bannerman Deffenders I would watch it and it would be nice to have flashbacks back to the old show showing them all laughing together and rani getting Sarah's sonic lipstick

Daniel Anthony reminds me of Andy Peters - the same higher register, youthful voice, and thr fact that they are both immortal, and never age.
I cannot believe it took me this long to find out about this series, cannot wait to listen to all of them! I grew up on SJA right alongside Doctor Who, watched every season as soon as they came out on dvd in the US. So good to have them back in any capacity.

Thanks for reading my question; I agree regarding Spider-Man. A truly 'spectacular' comics hero, and Tom Holland is my favourite live-action portrayal too. I feel he most accurately conveys the awkward geeky side of Peter combined with his more confident and quick-witted persona as Spider-Man.
Mcu sucks. Tom Holland is the most overrated actor who is only popular because he is shirtless for most of the time. His Spider-Man is the least accurate and annoying Spider-Man of all.
@@themonado5030 Each to their own, I find him the most comics accurate Spider-Man of them all. He's the only one to encompass both the socially awkward side as Peter and the wisecracking persona of Spider-Man.
That was a really good question and I agree re Spider-Man, he’s my favourite superhero as well. I love all three live action actors Tobey, Andrew and Tom but I’d say Andrew Garfield is my favourite in my opinion, I found his Spider-Man really funny and great chemistry and relationships in the Amazing Spider-Man movies. I’d like to see Daniel Anthony as a Spider-Man/Miles Morales would be so awesome.
