Very welcome my friend we are here to help Have a great weekend and thank you for being an awesome subscriber
Yes, that's actually an excellent repair. One again, correct prep is the key. I've used this same technique for door & trunk weather stripping and moldings, too. It always works well. Great advice, SPC Thank you!
Hubba Bubba you’re very welcome my friend have a fantastic weekend
This video has helped me with numerous rubber parts to my bike. Great job sharing your information and video.
Glad we could help Gabe! Thank you so much for watching and sharing your results, we really appreciate it, hope you have a great week my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Super glue and rubber has the most amazing bond! A friend and I repaired two front lawn tractor tire side walls. the were tubeless! They are still holding after 2 years. we did add a little bit of slime, but the super glue is still holding the chords and outer layers of rubber dead nuts solid!
Joeak74 thats awesome thank you so much for sharing :)
I'm glad I read this comment. I Tore the sidewall on my new car tires last night. I'm gonna prep it and superglue the flap of rubber back on it. Thanks
Thank you. I need to repair a much smaller tube for my water dispenser. And after watching this I feel way more confident now that I can!

Dude, my buddy literally just tore my truck's new CV boot when i allowed him to do his first CV shaft. Priceless timing, shouldve known...laquer thinner lol
Erik timing and lac thinner is everything lol
Thanks for this info! You’re awesome! I’m going make a repair kit for my side by side. Split a axle boot last year moose hunting. Tried to patch it but water and mud destroyed axle. Had to baby it out 40 miles through gnarly alaska muck in 3 wheel drive.

Back when I was a teenager, and I knew EVERYTHING about cars, I did this same fix on a radiator hose....what a disaster!!! LOL
Roger Corriveau I can imagine it was not good as this will not work on high-pressure tubing :)
Funniest thing about this video is that I watched it because I need to restore some very old seals on a vintage mining lamp. Whilst I was watching you I thought "wtf super glue and black silicone" Thats not "restoring rubber".
Then I realised it would be easier just to make my own seals out of black silicone. Thank you for that!
Good deal glad we could help you out
Thanks so much Sweet Project Cars!! I repaired my little girl's mermaid fin using your tips and she's so happy to be out swimming again :)

Hello SPC Friends and Subscribers, here we show you how to repair most any broken rubber part on your car or truck. We hope you enjoy and have a fantastic weekend :) Also, we want to update you on the teespring.com/SWEETSWAG so far because of U we have collected $20.00 in donations with us matching that, we have a total of $40 to give to the Wounded Warriors Project **Thanks so much, SPC Luvs U All***
Wounded Warrior got a bad name a couple years ago for misappropriating funds. Lots of them. May be they got that whole thing straightened out but it tarnished their name a little....actually quite a bit.
holidayrap well we have all had our problems in life for sure and it is what you do in the problem that really matters...WWP has done much more good than bad for our vet's ..now that they have that all cleared up and all the bad apple's out, they are really moving forward in even a much larger way. :)
Of course Mr. SPC... I have a lot of respect for you taking time to promote ANY charity. Not much can be said by others in that area. I appreciate your channel very much. Again, respect.

Question could the black silicone be used on cracked and leaking rubber grease jackets like ball joints and such
Thank you, now I know how to repair my cracked rubber floor mat.
To fix a CV boot without taking it off the car, I used a similar method, having a roofing business in England I had loads of partially cured (sticky) EPDM in strips about 3 inches wide. After really careful cleaning I bonded the boot in the same way, then put primer round the entire circumference of the boot, then applied a round of EPDM 'tape' - it lasted for years, and cost just over half an hour's work, on a Citroen which would have been a hellish job otherwise. Nice video, quick and clear - thanks.
Thank you for watching and sharing Gurgle Jug, we really appreciate it. Hope you have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
can u explain the primer u used?
Hi I'm in Yorkshire my air intake pipe has just split yesterday will tiger seal work on it as I've got a tube in shed will be difficult to get anything else as it's Xmas eve . Happy Xmas

I like your vids before I even watch them, because I just know how good they'll be.
Ender thank you so much and we are glad we can help you :) Please share our channel any and everywhere :) Mike
Huge help this saved me several hundred dollars.Ordering the same intake hose from Japan would have cost close to $300..And I then treated the rubber with 303
Glad we could help! Thank you so much for watching and sharing, we truly appreciate it, have a fantastic week my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Great video and idea using the super glue first!
I've always just used the silicone, but the super glue should make it much stronger.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Robert and yes the superglue is the key to getting everything lined up and in place so that you can slather the silicone on LOL have a great weekend my friend
Thank you.....I did the same way and still alive after 4 years.....thank god .........👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The aero thank you my friend we truly appreciate that thank you for sharing have a great and awesome weekend

I was about to toss mine out. I'll fix it and flip it for cheap. Brand new hose is like $175.
Thanks man
Our pleasure to help! Thank you for watching and commenting, have a fantastic week my friend. mad Mike & team
I've been waiting for this one Mike. I'm gonna use sekaflex 221 here in South Africa. I wish I could get my hands on some of that special secret sauce of yours. The big bad 303. Can I make it here with similar products?
If you click the links in the description, it will give you the comparable product available to you in your country Nico. Thanks for watching and sharing, have a fantastic day my friend. mad Mike
Sweet, gonna try this on my backpack blower if my duct tape fix doesn't hold up. I took a heat gun to the tape and molded it to the contours on the flex tube. Been good for 3 years now. Redmax discontinued parts are tough to find and expensive.
I’m with you the older backpack blowers are getting harder and harder to find parts for but this works great have a fantastic weekend
Just finished my Husqvarna blower flex tube repair using this method, and although I don't have a SPC super duper air compressor nozzle.
I made due just fine and dandy! You guys rock!
Thank you and keep'em coming...
👍😀👍
Mahalo for the tip. Good video. I restored a vintage VW Scirocco undercarriage shift boot with your method. However, unlike the air plenum you've repaired, the shift book will be under constant movement like a CV joint boot. I have a feeling, it will peel apart over time. We'll see. I made a video that I'll edit and post sometime. I noticed that after I got it togther, used black silicone, started to flex the boot, the super glue bond cracked. I could see the silicone also peel away from the rubber of the boot. So for some extra bonding, I sprayed a couple coats of Flex Seal inside and out. It turns out that Flex Seal doesn't bond well with rubber and can peel away with ease.
Thank you for watching and sharing Darryl, we really appreciate it, hope you have a stupendous day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
😊 You too!
amazing .. this technique will save our pocket money instead of converting to new ones..video is best only from Sweet Project Cars..btw..you have very funny glove..millions thumbs up Sweet Project Cars
Spozz thank you so much, you are definitely one of our great Charter members :)
@3:15 i would sand slightly on the inside of rib with an emery board. this will give the black silcon more surface area to grab. JUST SAND the RIB NOT THE CRACKED area. Ive done this exact repair on a 98 Honda Civic CV boot and and it has lasted another 10 years !!! Again dont sand the actual crack BUT do sand the inside of the rib slightly.
Thank you for watching and sharing, we appreciate your input Troy! Have a great week my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
This happened to my moms van and I use JB weld plastic weld putty and it works really good
You can use whatever you want, we are just sharing with our great subscribers what has given us proven results after 40 years of experience. Thanks. Have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Thanks for the vid. I do want to ask about the 303. You mentioned the intake hose would be covered with 303. -Should we be careful not to get 303 on the repair/dried silicone? -Or is it something that's fine to go ahead & submerge/soak/cover in 303? -Should it only be sprayed away from or around the repair?
Thanks again
Once the repair is cured up, you are good to douse the thing in 303 until the cows come home. Thanks for asking Donnie. Have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
What is 303?
Is 303 a product one can purchase? Or is it a homemade "secret sauce"?
As you said, “clean the surfaces to make sure the adhesives will adhere.” Make sure you have vigorous ventilation when using volatile solvents like lacquer thinner. After cleaning the surfaces with lacquer thinner or alcohol, air dry, then test to see how clean the surfaces are by spraying clean water on the surfaces to be repaired. If it is free of grease, the water should sheet in the surfaces. If the water beads up anyplace, you will thank yourself for checking because the adhesive would have failed.
Conditioning the part before repairing is optimal. Treat the rubber with wintergreen oil in a carrier solvent like alcohol 1 to 3 dilution.
Always use gloves, don’t touch the part with bare hands.
Paul Menten you are a great Subscriber thanks for sharing :)
I wonder how we can do this on the front axle CV shaft. my axle shaft boot is broken and leaking and it is full of grease. we can still do this work on that torn rubber boot on the axle?
@@shakirahmedtth did u ever try this im in the same boat with my axel boot
With all the comedians out of work, you’re cracking off jokes like that?!? 😂
But I like what you are showing so I’ll be back again for more.
Thank you Harry for being here with us have a fantastic weekend
I have a 2005 Honda accord 6 cylinder, the air intake hose has multiple cracks and is completely severed next to the air box. Should I attempt to superglue and apply black silicone to it or do you think it is too far gone? I can send pics if necessary.
Please send us some pics to sweetprojectcars@gmail.com we will get you pointed in the right direction Justin. Thanks for watching and asking, have a great day. mad Mike & team

I used the black silicone, without the super glue, and all i can say is WOW, one of my inner tierods was cracked and i washed out very well, and i used the black silicone, and it litterly became part of the cracked boot boot, it looked great and it was solid
Thank you for watching and sharing, have a great day Ana. mad Mike the hammer SPC

GOOD LORD AND I JUST REPLACED THE INTAKE HOSE ON MY GIRLFRIEND'S HONDA LAST SATURDAY SINCE I COULDN'T THINK OF A WAY TO FIX IT! I SPENT $32 ON IT! (I wanted to use JB weld but I've never used jb weld so I didn't know how good it would be in runner2)

I have 2 dry rotted spots on a rear vented window seal on my 98 Ford Ranger XLT I'm restoring because I love this truck. Been together a long time. Will the permanent fill in the 2 little voids until I can find a new seal I can't seem to find anywhere?

Hello SPC! I have a question for you but it is regarding stone chips repairing. I used your guide for that. And I satisfied around 80% )
The issue is when I was sanding the primer in some spots I destroyed a bit more than I should clear coat. I didn't find any videos from you on how to repair the clear coat )))
Kyryll Haponenko the only way to repair clear coat is to buff it back to a shine with your mother's polish or if you took the clear off you will need to reclear it see this it may help ruclips.net/video/0kVRwnRIb54/видео.html

I like to joke a bit, but I've learnt so much from your posts that I've started to use. Bought the superglue today just in case! Just asked a question on one of your stone chip videos, hope you don't mind. C
I'm thinking about buying Venom gloves, what's your honest opinion on them?

Is that black stuff RTV gasket sealant? Im in New Zealand I think we call it something different. On my JDM Honda the intake rubber hose is broken like that and a new one is very expensive.

Thanks for sharing your experience. That is perfect. A query that I have - will the glues be hot and UV resistant?
The glue we show in the show more of the video description is not a hot glue it will withstand high temperatures very well and it is a UV silicone glue is well
That’s creative bro good idea

Hello Spc,i have a question, how im gonna fix my weather strip in my roof vehicle? What kind of sealant? Glue?
Use either of these amzn.to/3VHQoea or amzn.to/3ThXDYI pick your color, and remember make sure you have everything set before you put the glue on because this stuff sticks and you won't ever get it off. Hello SPC , this is a great and informative video. Btw, do you have any tutorials video or tips on car interior sound proof

Genius. I'm likely going to be doing this shortly. Thanks for this fantastic tip. I just can't say I'm going to remove the rack and pinion to fix a the rubber seal. Likely leaving it in place.
Cool. Personally, I'd let the superglue dry for 12 hours. RTV for 24 to 48 hours.
Worked for me on my Yamaha yz85 reed intake boot 👍
Well done!
Would this repair be gas and oil resistant, I have a stilh carb intake manifold on a ms201t that is ripped in half , it's a expensive part , more then I paid for the saw.
Yes it sure is David! Have at it my friend, thanks for watching and asking, have a great day and all the best on your project. mad Mike the hammer SPC

Hi I've got a crack in my tailpipe the tailpipes very Rusty but I don't have the $100 to replace it. I've looked around on RUclips and the suggestion is tiger patch. Do you agree? It's on the straight.
It is definitely worth a try I will be doing a video on repairing basically the same thing but that will not be for a couple weeks
Will this work an extractor hose of this type that ripped apart ? Am I able to glue together and hopefully hold till I get a new one?
Give it a shot, Louis, sounds like you've got nothing to lose. Thanks for watching. Have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
@@SweetProjectCars i went and bought what you used and the rip so was so severe there was no way it was gonna hold so luckily it was ripped towards the top end where rubber slides onto the tank. I cut off the hose about 15 inches took off the glove and put back onto the remaining hose. I lost some length but luckily this hose is around 15 feet long. Saved me 140$ from buying a new hose. I did use the super glue for a small tear but should hold up just fine. Still under warranty so we'll see if they send me a new one. Now I'm off to go do an interior detail.
Thank you Ron Desantis
Agree!! Thanks for watching and commenting Michael, hope you have a great day. mad Mike

You are so excellent!
Glad to help! Thank you for the view and kind comment, have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
would this work on an intake rubber boot where gasoline would be passing through the boot and very close to the high temps of the engine?
Give it a shot, we've had great results when using this process on the many things we have used it on. Thanks. Have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Great! Do u think this will work on shoes (Nike)? Particularly bonding the sole to the shoe?
give it a shot and see if you like the results
So you're saying if the crack is "in the valley" between two ribs, then you can skip the super glue and go straight to the Permatex silicone, right?
It's always good to use the superglue if you can no matter where it's at, but if you can't get to it in the valley area then just use the silicone. Thank you for watching and asking. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Another great trick! Thank you ever so much for that!! Love the chicken coupe joke! That was great also!!
Thank you MICHAEL we appreciate that yeah we like to keep it a little light sometimes with a couple of crazy jokes have a fantastic weekend my friend

Will do to aged cracks on tie rods and ball joints ? Thaxs
Billy you will love the results on your age cracks of your tire rods and ball joints
Can we use spray silicon instead of Aerospace 303 for make rubber parts long lasting and healthy?
Hello bronze sorry but silicone spray is very damaging to rubber overtime thank you for asking have a great week and we will see you this Thursday
Thank you .
Do you think this would work on the rubber flap hanging down under the front bumper? I'm wondering if it could hold up to something designed to scrape on stuff?
It will definitely work, but we suggest not pulling up too close to bump stops in parking lots, that will help tremendously. Thanks for watching and asking Dylan. Have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
@@SweetProjectCars Thank you for the reply! I just bought a lowered 2011 mustang gt. The bumper scrapes on everything. I noticed the flap is holding on by a couple inches on both sides . Love your videos :)
I was lurking for a while then subscribed :)
Luv the way you say Hi Guys and Girls as there are ladies watching too :)
Sorry to ask on this video but I went to your channel as there was no way of mailing you :(
I have two (hopefully?) small issues with a car I am restoring,I live in the UK and imported a car from California I am slowly working through................
The car had no headliner and no sound deadening,I want to install a new headliner but first new modern sound deadening but I cannot get the remains of the old sound deadening and glue off the inside of the roof :(
Its 43 year old glue its set like concrete a has remains of the old sound deadening still stuck in the glue :(
I basically have a hairy roof !
Could you upload a video showing how to get rid of decades old glue?
The car is really solid so dont want to strip the paint off the roof.
Second question, the car in its life blew a motor so engine parts were in the car for years the interior is in good shape but I have an oil stain in the passenger seat its been there for at least a decade so its well set in and dried!
Seats are Vinyl can I remove an oil stain that old from vinyl?
Thanks for all your videos :)
Jo (Wiltshire UK)
P.S. I need products that we can get here in the UK too ;)
Jo thank you for subscribing and welcome from the great UK !!! Jo as far as the old glue you need to try this amzn.to/2zFZbHM it works very well for the old glue. as far as the oil stains in the vinyl that have been there that long this is the only thing that may work for you amzn.to/2KY83he if that does not work you will have to redye the vinyl hope this helps my friend.
Thanks I will certainly try that glue remover as I have a prime sccount so can get it fast ;) The seats I am thinking of redying anyhow with something called Kolorbond as I have sourced some better trim but its the wrong colour. Just thought I would ask as you know all the good tricks ;)
Car is a 1975 Mustang II I know they are a marmite car but I like them :)
It has a 302 in it,its a very solid car lived all its life in Sacremento but sadly a critter had been living in what was left of the roof lining :(
Once the glue is off I can get new sound deadening a a new headliner :)
Love all your tips I find thesedays people overthink things and think something cant be saved :(
You just have to think outside the box like you do and its amazing what can be saved from the trash
Jo

What product do you use to soften old rubber parts? Any videos?
Roy Vannoy this is what we use amzn.to/2jCHktN you soak the part in it or keep them sprayed down with is as long as it takes to soften them

I’m going to do this but shorten the tube (cut it in half) on my go kart build because the air box and tube sticks out about a foot out and doesn’t look good that far out. Where do you recommend I cut between the ribs??
You cut in the valley of the ribbed tube. Thanks for asking, hope this helps. Happy New Year. mad Mike the hammer SPC
