    Wow, you actually understand the 400i, impressive. You know people have completely missed the point when they complain about it not have enough guns for combat or cargo space for space-trucking. If you want a fighter, get a combat ship. If you want a hauler, get a cargo ship. Use the right tool for the right job. The 400i is a compact, long distance explorer and it will do that very well when the game loop comes around. The 400i is a well thought out ship with great stats, everything else is subjective.

    It took me a while to warm up to the design despite loving most other Origin ships. Strangely enough, it was the kitchen/dining/cartography area that changed my opinion of it. It's such a great little space.

      I was the exact opposite. I generally dislike the Origin lineup due to the lack of utility for their price points (which is intentional, they're space BMWs/yachts after all), but the 400i hits the perfect balance of opulence : utility.
      If you're willing to give up half the cargo space of a Constellation Andromeda for something faster, longer ranged, and more luxurious, it's the perfect alternative.

  • @redslate

    The other thing to note about the 400i: amazing shields.
    The larger Origin ships (890, 600i) have Top-Tier shielding, designed to simply shrug off even large attacks. The 400i follows suit. For its size, it's unmatched.
    The bulk of the firepower is directed aft to balance this out, making the 400i more of a 'run away from a fight' type of ship, but it will survive encounters that comparable ships will not.

    I honestly don’t like the placement of the top turret, mainly because I feel it blocks the view from that back window. The size of its blind spot is another reason I am not a fan of the location. Hopefully if they release a 425a, a version of the 400i intended for exploring more potentially hostile locations, that turret is moved for better coverage.

All except for one ship, the 400i. That's MY ship. It's just such a nice place to be. It's like a small flying luxury apartment. Just the right size that you don't feel lost and lonely when you're on your own but if a couple of friends come over to go on a little adventure, it's got that covered.

    Haha well I love Origin ships but even I’d be struggling to give this 10/10. I think it has some secrets to reveal to us still with this unique climate controlled areas and more multiple redundant components than any other ship out there. I think it’s guns should be gimballed S4’s as stock but with no chance to upgrade them to fixed S5’s. Cargo is on the low side but at least your bike is separate storage area so that good. For me, 7/10 overall but agree this is one of the sexiest ships in the game. If it’s design yields more speed than other ships for outrunning pirates etc then I’d boost it to and 8…I know, I know, you didn’t ask 😂👍

    • @EvenLease44

      Yeah. I found it a 10/10 for what it was built and intended for, its current area in the game due to the lack of exploration and such features the ship was made for I could easily see your 7/10.

  • @ShadowGirl-
    @ShadowGirl- 7 месяцев назад +2

    For me the 400i is the best daily driver ship, especially now that I can use my X1 Force along side it. Let me explain:
    Sure it carries less cargo but I don't do cargo running. I wish CIG would fix the hydraulics so it could hold a ROC (just make the ship rise up when the cargo lift is lowered) but its perfect for carrying a car if I want or just the new cargo storage boxes, and any loose boxes I happen to find on my journey. It has space for 3 armor suits, 6 rifles, and many pistols. Im more protected with a size 3 shield, and defensively positioned turrets, which will be AI controlled later with computer blades (generally any remote control turret will have this someday). While it might not seem to have much power, by using the gimbled size 3 guns, it has a large capacitor charge and against NPCs is actually surprisingly decent, or swap to size 4 guns. Part of the reason it has the long front section is because it has an advanced long range scanning sensor array, which when coupled with the nice viewing table in the back is perfect for planning your approach to a facility at a distance, and finding hidden details/vehicles. Internally having the components in separated compartments, three separate spaces with a clean space between them, will be an excellent setup to help you combat the spread of onboard fire. It features a docking port, which will be super fun to use when we are allowed to connect to other ships, or dock at stations using them specifically, and it's super useful in questionable situations, like Jumptown when you need to put boxes into your ship but don't want other players to be able to enter. It's fuel range is exceptional, it features all amenities in beautiful detail and even has a champagne fridge. For a daily driver you would be hard pressed to choose something else in this size range unless you're looking specifically for cargo. Someday survivability will be the most important thing, that's why I pair the shielded X1 variant with this defensively focused ship. Both the 400i and the X1 are good for high speed escapes, designed to get you out alive.

    • @EvenLease44
      @EvenLease44 7 месяцев назад

      I totally understand your comment if you pair it with the elegance of origin.
      But I feel like the Andromeda or Taurus would be the better options if you didn’t care for the design of origin. Has the cargo, guns, shields, and ability to carry the X1 and a roc and if you get the andromeda a snub.
      It’s truly up to person tastes as always. That’s what makes this game special.

      That's generally the idea with Origin ships. You pay a bit more for luxury/status, but don't necessarily get additional utility out of them.
      I do see the 400i as the furthest deviation from this trend however. You _could_ get more utility out of a Constellation Andromeda (twice the cargo, more vehicle compliance), but they seem to be shaping the 400i to be _slightly_ more resilient and a bit sleeker to fly, so the tradeoff isn't unreasonable considering it's an opulent space-yacht.

    • @Leptospirosi
      @Leptospirosi 8 месяцев назад +1

      true, same for me, but the 400i has it's own advantage, like being able to carry a bike outside of the cargo bay, and being damn FAST if you need to get somewhere in a hurry, with fuel tanks to support that. Most of the 400i gamplay is not there yet, like the Bike (available for Luminalia), the "luxury transport loop" and, obviously, the exploration loop, due to the big radar dish on the top and the cartography map table. It also has a lot of exits, which is not a given with CIG. The MSR comes closer to the concept then a Connie, but it's much more fragile, slower, lacks proper fast exits and it trades the exploration for data trading. The only thing I don't like about the 400i is the front view, which doesn't allow you to check that big nose.
      The Connie has the definite edge as an Utility vehicle, but only the Phoenix (quite expensive) has the same luxury, but without the exploration capability, due to range and lack of equipment. The 400i is also faster, easily hitting 500 Km/s on the deck at ArcCorp, while the Connie barely scrapes the 340Km/s
      The 400i is the only big ship that can actually left a fighter behind in an atmospheric chase.
      I have a 600i but I'm planning to downgrade, due to the ineffectiveness in combat (I get always swarmed), the slowness of the ship itself and the age long rework, which will "force" us to get a proper large crew to keep the ship in a flying state.
