This shows you how to heat mold or bake your ice hockey skates from one, this reduces the break in time of your skates but is not a necessary process it's purely optional as some players prefer the tradition method of breaking skates in. Skate baking also gives you a much more custom fitting skate.
Things you'll needs
• Oven gas or electric
• Baking tray
• Skates
• Oven gloves or something to remove the skates from oven after the baking process

Been wanting to do this for YEARS, finally a good guide to get er done
No those can't be baked, its normally high level intermediate and above skates that can be baked. Thank you for the kind words and for watching. I hope you'll subscribe and share them.
Excellent Tutorial. The difference is quite clear betwen the baked/unbaked skate. Thanks for posting this.
Tim
@romanoswestwood You can indeed re-bake skates, but i would recommend just using them. Its not really that great for them.
Lol !! I had to reply to this as it made my wet myself, its a new age :) some of us tea sipping crumpet eaters breath hockey!. Im glad this video helped you and your son. I hope you'll keep watching and subscribe to my channel and website. Thanks for the great comment ;)
I think it may be time to update this video with 2021 production quality haha.
Top man, one of the best tutorials online! Very clear and simple. Worked a treat. Cheers dude :0)
Thanks for this vid mate.
After baking my Mission Fuel AG120's, They felt way better out on the ice.
Thanks for the vid just baked my skates and they feel much better.
+3213089 Most welcome.
3213089 I was going to say the same thing 🙋thanks man😎
@jasperone204 You can indeed if you have a big enough oven, just ensure the skates have enough clearance and aren't touching anything but the baking tray.
You are the Jamie Oliver of the skating world ! Brilliant video, thanks!
Really nice video, surely a lot of help to many of us!! Clear explanations, helpfull tips,... all and all great stuff. Just what I was looking for.
Thank you very much!!!
It would speed of the breaking in process and help the skates take to the shape of your foot. If you're worried that you can't bake them after skating in them, your still more than welcome to do so.
sick video man, very comprehensive, good step-by-step
I know this sucks but its always best to get a size that fits you properly now, if you grow perhaps sell the skates and get another pair. Getting a pair of skates that are too big and waiting to grow into them will make things harder for you on the ice at present. Thanks for watching, I hope you'll subscribe and also share my videos. I've also set up a forum page on my site so be sure to post any questions you have there for a quick response.
@smithy2t8 Yes you can, before doing so, please remember to check their instructions (in case they are slightly different)
Great Tutorial I will have to give this a try! hate breaking in new footwear!
Sir I have a question. Why if i want to use the Hair blower is that working because the air is so hot.So i want to try that if thats ok ..?
@R9Jmz If you can give me the model, I'll firstly let you know if they can be baked, them send you the instructions if possible. Please post this topic on the forum page as it will require a lot of information and i don't check youtube daily. link is in vid description.
@oL5re9re55ion There really isn't any significant difference, they will both do the same job.
Very clear and informative. Thanks so much.
Do the Hockey skates get the same fit if you just wear them to ride or are the getting a even better fit if you just heat mold them?
@localfools They have indeed stopped making Mission Fuel, the AGX were the last pair they made, if you'd like a pair you can get them via our online store, just follow the link on our channel and message the online store for a quote (limited stock).
@hondarider871 some you can, i just got some easton ones today and they say to bake them at 200 for 7 minutes. but check with the manufacturer
for bauer x600 skates it states heat to 179 degrees Fahrenheit or 80 degrees for no more then 3 mins then fit them let cool for 15mins then remove then says let sit for a minimum of 1 hour to harden futher but using this method they where barely even warm after 3 mins in oven at 80 degrees i think bauer are a bit over concervitive as with this method they basically look the same as before i baked them
I don't think they should be very hot
Oh great, I didn't know about the last part. I have hockey in 2hrs...How do you quick harden these things, freeze them?
i've never seen mission hockey skates. those are absolutely gorgeous. If their hockey skates are half as good as their inline skates,…then I'm sure those skates are awesome. (Does Bauer own Mission ice skates, as well?)
Can the skates be re-baked ? Got a pair and I believe the store baked the skate wrong as they are fitting wrong but that was over 1 year ago and just now started using them. Thanks in advance.
can you heat mould skates that have already been put in the oven once? got them moulded at the shop but after 2 months they are extremely painful and don't think it was done correctly.
Hockey stores charge money to do this in a specialized skate oven - is there any benefit in paying a shop to do it? I'll gladly do it at home if it's all the same.
If I wear brand new skates. Then bake them the day after, would this effect anything on the skates?
Bauer finally came through, they say to preheat your oven to 79 degrees and only leave them in for a maximum of 3 minutes. This can be repeated up to 3 times after a cool down of at least 15 minutes between each heating
Just used this video to bake my CCM Jetspeeds!! 👍🏻
i just bought ccm jetspeeds but before baking ill skate a couple sessions and then decide if i need it baked or not
I use tacks, they deffinetly need baked
Can this work to help stretch older skates? Mine are a littler narrow
Hi can you bake skates with wax laces on them or should I put the old laces back on and my skates are the X5.0 Vapors!! Thanks.
Hi i havr a question about baking ? What is a proper temperature for baking mission's 180 degrees in farenheit or celsius ? Thanks for the answer.
awesome video my question is once the oven is preheated do u turn it off or do u wait 10 minutes after the oven is preheated to turn the oven off? that part was a bit confusing
hi & hey dude...
youre speaking pretty fast. i am not english native speaking so thats a serious problem for me to understant you.
I have bought mission fuel 120AG skates and I want to bake them at home after a twice usage.
steps ?

place skate inside with untighted laces
7 min. of heating
after that wear the skate, center the tongue and carefuly tight laces
wait 15-20 minutes
take off skates and store them at least 24 hrs at cold place to fit a new shape
thx.
How long should I bake Bauer x500's?
Good video. Some shops try to charge $30+ for this service that takes you like 40-50 minutes at home. Less if you bake both at the same time. I jus did this process myself.
Hi can you bake bauer vapor x 1.0 only got them today and really hurting my ankle area like rubbing thanks
Hi there. I have a question. I bought a used skates (Bauer Flexlite 1.0) and would like to ask if I bake them? They were used for a few months but wasn't baked. What do you think about this?
i no you may not replie to this but i really want to no if you play ice hockey ?
any know how long and at what heat i should bake a pair of bauer one.6s!?

@hondaluluHI Thats our introduction track, it doesn't really have a name as it was made exclusively for our videos. if you'd like to download any of our music used, please visit our site and go to the N.V music page.
Thanks so much for your support
Are we obliged to do this? If yes , can I do it on bauer Vapor x 2.0?
Is it not recommended to bake skates at less temp than in the instructions ?
Just to be safe. I´m super scared of damaging my new Supreme One.8's :)
Hey, I have skates i've used for years, and they decently worn in, but they still have some excess space in them when I tie them up, is it worth baking them?
My skates are really stiff. Will this allow them to flex at the top some?
can you do this with both skates at the same time?
Really helpful tips. Thanks for posting!
Hi, I bought a pair of CMM u+01 jr. but can I bake them ? And it's 180 degrees celsius or farenheit? Please , help me ):

Very useful. It works. Thank you!
I've just bought some Bauer Nexus 600's and the pain on the outsides of my feet is incredibly (8/10 easily). I've bought EE's due to the width of my feet but I feel they're still a little narrow.
I'm going to be looking into getting them possibly baked at home, but can't find any instructions online on how long they should be in/what temperature they should be.
Do you have any advice or suggestions? I'm also in the UK, so willing to get them done professionally if you know of any place?
I have a set of heat moldable Reign Helios hockey skates, and they are super tight on the sides (to the point my foot starts to fall asleep) and there's painful pressure points on the boney parts of my feet. Otherwise the length of the skate is fine, and my toes don't touch the end. Will heat molding address those issues? Also, the frames are removable, so would it be ok to stand the skate upright without the frame, or is it better to lay it on its side on the baking sheet?
Can I put em in the fridge to cool em off instead of waiting for 24 hrs?
if i have wax laces can it still be baked?
hey man im just wondering whats the name of that first song thats playing? its pretty good!
btw your tutorials helped! thanks!
Goodmorning ! Im learning how to skate . And i feel like my skates are too stiff and this might help . But i looked on the box and i dont see any info for the “ baking “ process . I bought some Bauer Ns size 8 . And i have seen a temp of 175 all over on internet ( not specifying the brand of the skate )
Phil - I have the same question for the specifics on Bauer Supreme one.6s. What did you find out.
I would avoid doing this with waxed laces.

Hi, great video! I searched online and it seems the Bauer x50 is heat moldable. But I can't find information about temperature and time. There is no information on the box. What would you recommend? Thanks!
Thank you for watching.

I was recently listening to an episode of spitting chiclets and stamkos is on and around the 13:40 min mark they talk about how Brayden point goes barefoot in his skates . They said he uses tape . Anyone know what kind of tape and what he does?
