This interview is testament that Shaun is a certified journalist not many people would have been able to get as much information as he did from this guy. I know people are panning the guy in the comment section but he seems slightly nervous.
Aaron Linton- Chambers -well said. I mean bloody hell rhat was painful. Like drawing blood from a stone. And I know Shaun has said he doesn’t get on people with fake stories but . Maybe the guy is crap at telling stories but it’s meant to be about his own experiences but the facts don’t seem to be true/ like he doesn’t know the way Jamaican customs search someone so he explains it without going into too much detail incase he is wrong.
Known Tommy a long time and I can see the toll the "Triple bypass" Meds etc has had on him, not bad for a man of 61. I wish I'd have been a fraction of the places he's been to, born in Warrington put me up in London in the 80s. Has a wicked dry sense of humor. Very humble, generous feller. Keep on Keeping on! Is one of his moto's..
I respect the fact that Tommy though nervous and being interviewed after a traumatic surgery.. Its definitely not easy talking about traumatic events.. Thanks shaun for a job well done.. Best of luck to you Tommy.. Get well soon..
This guy Tommy is a sound skin. Respect to this man. One cool bloke to withstand that experience. I find parts of his delivery of the story funny at times the way he describes things so bluntly.
Irons 11 I’m a black yank and I would be beyond horrified! The bastards all pulled out knifes and started placing the blades against his flesh on the very first night in the cell! Tommy must be a very resourceful guy, to have found his place within that prison community. Respect to Tommy!
Nothing like an American or Eastern European prison where your race is relevant. Racism doesn’t really exist in the Caribbean. Don’t get me wrong if you’re looking for trouble you’ll find it very quickly. But extortion and violence isn’t decided on race. More the weak and vulnerable.
Please give the video a thumbs up as Shaun had to work his arse off in this interview. His interviewing skills were put to the test and he did a good job.
Shuan I watch your interviews /podcasts every evening after work. Their fantastic you are most certainly my RUclipsr out there. I found you on true geordie maybe 2 years ago and I've been an avid watcher ever since. Keep um coming brother
Amazing this man managed to write a book about his experience, based on his ability to speak about what happened was very brief almost painful to listen too, not the most reviting podcast. Fair play to him for getting through that experience.
Well done for having lots of questions lined up to ask him , you did a good job of getting Tommy to explain the conditions and circumstances. Has he done a locked up abroad documentary? I'd like to see it if he has .I liked the question , "so what have you got that they want? " Tommy.."fruit " 😃 By the way a book I read when I was briefly in prison was, Were all doing time, by Bo Lozoff.
I agree Shaun is an excellent interviewer. Plus he connected to Tommy even though he was very laid back and not very verbose. If one spends a lot of time in Jamaica, let alone a Jamaican prison, they lose the hyperness of a Londoner or New Yorker ect. Also some people are naturally (or drug induced) slower. Kudos to Shaun as usual.
Hey Shaun and gang!!!!😉 How in the ?!zx did this guy transport drugs from outside of US especially Jamica and didn't know anything about laws????? Also doesn't he remember the most horrible stuff????? Geezzzzz you had to pull his teeth out for his story!!!! Anyway, love your podcasts it keeps me less depressed dealing with cancer alone. Hopefully, starting to visit Europe soon before it's too late!!! KEEP IT GOING!!!😀😀😀❤❤❤❤
Everyone is slating the guest but not everyone is a natural storyteller and it’s probably his first time doing something like this. Plus, I’m more inclined to believe guests like this. It’s not like he’s throwing crazy stories out there that sounds like he’s made them up off the top of his head. He’s just like yeah I was in Jamaican prison, it was fucking horrendous, traumatising stuff but I got through it. Shame we couldn’t get more details but it is what it is. Shaun showing his brilliant interviewing skills as usual though 👍🏼
L Hayes yeah maybe he didn’t go into much detail beCiae it’s. It true. I’m pretty sure Jamaican strip searchs will be more thorough and no laws about a cheeky finger in the bum to search hahaha

I mentioned on another post, the surgery probably didn't help. But I like the guy, just followed him on Instagram. Great questions Shaun. You mentioning Mitsi's brought back memories of raving it up in the 90s 🤙👍
I agree. It'll be nice to actually hear the fucking bloke speak without nutjob lefties screaming at him. I dont agree with ALL he says but you'd have to be a bellend to not realise much of what he says makes perfect sense. To hear media tell it, he wants to murder everybody that isnt White. Not until I watched his channel (and PHENOMENAL BBC documentary), that I got a real feel for his cause. They're so good at demonizing people in this country. Pisstake

Shows how good shaun is as an interviewer. Let's the chatter boxes talk but asks the less talkative guests lots of questions to keep the interview flowing.
As the young sun broke through the branches into graceful shafts of light,I just wanted us to be pure,I just wanted us to be pure.it's a bit like that Tommy
Real talk Tv LOL. He could play a perfect kingpin in a movie all proper and well spoken like he is but have a sadistic side for people that crossed him. Just casually taking a meat cleaver to someone’s fingers that robbed him all while maintaining his quiet well spoken aura. He would be perfect for something like that IMO. To the outsider his persona would never be suspected but people on the inside fear him knowing his other side and what he’s capable of. Perfect role for that type of character

Gosh that was like pulling teeth. Fair play Shaun you had your work cut out here and made the most of a bad situation, shame as I'm sure he has a good story to tell.

This guy survived prison by being really boring, he wasn’t noticed. The fact managed you to get so much from him was a miracle. Sorry couldn’t watch to end. Hope he’s got a good ghost writer for book.
Shaun have you ever tried to get peter 'posh pete' Tritton on your podcast just saw a small documentary on him. He was an English smuggler who spent 9 years in an Ecuador prison. Bloke looks like he has a story to tell
Tommy Kennedy is the reincarnation of John Wayne that's why he mentioned him twice and says spaghetti Western at some point in the interview...He definitely has the voice and slow speed of John Wayne.

He just had heart surgery too!
His complete indifference to absolutely everything is what probably saved him.
And a lot of ganga with it. It does numb the brain a bit. The bloke needs a break, just had a triple heart bypass!!!
GREAT WORK SHAUN, GETTING THE MOST OUT OF THE GUEST

Good to hear that, seems like a decent bloke and I thought he was probably feeling the affects of surgery. Hope he's well
Shaun earned his money with this interview... hard graft
God,....this was like getting blood out a stone 🙄
Well done for being so patient Shaun
People are saying this blokes hard to interview. I thought he was a good bloke. He’s an interesting fella.
He's had interesting experiences but is poor at conveying them. He still seems in shock and bemused by what happened to this day.
He's got a good story but he's a bit hard work to get the stories out of him but some people are more natural than others at talking.
Yeah agreed. Also he did just have surgery apparently so that may affected things . Anyway he seems like a decent bloke. Good luck to him
Good work shaun it was the most guided interview tommy shouldn't of had that spliff before the interview.
