  • In this video I discuss some alternatives to hooking up a portable washer to a water supply line. I also suggest how to secure the drain line so that it doesn't come loose during the drain cycle. These tips may apply to other models and brands of washers.
    Here is my video of the initial unboxing and setup of our magic chef portable washer:

    Why do you detach the hose from the washer? Can't you just leave that end connected and put the other ends inside the tub? The lid would stay partially open but less chance of mold forming if air can dry out the inside of the tub.

    If you can find the Velcro one-wrap thin ties (usually at home improvement stores on online), you can also use that to 'tie' the drain hose to the supply line as well. I I've been doing that for years and it works great, enabling the Velcro tie to stay wrapped around the drain hose for storage. I also found that it's easier to use a shower adaptor on the sink (if you can, usually kitchen sinks and shower heads work with the adaptor) to reduce the amount of pressure you have when taking down your washer set up, due to the larger opening. Lastly, I love the hose elbow adaptor idea - I think you could even leave it attached to the washer (if you had space in your storage spot) and let the inlet hose end stay inside the washer, with the lid open to dry out and keep the washer drum from smelling.

    Why would you keep disconnecting the hose end that's attached to the machine? Leave it on and put that other end in the washer tub. Over use of that plastic inlet will strip it. Just leave it on for your next wash day.

    Why don't you just leave the hose connected to the machine?

    Why would you need to disconnect the water supply line at the washer end? Why not just leave that end attached? Then you can just wheel away the washer and it’ll be all set up for next time except for the quick-connect end to the sink faucet.

    Hey Lawrence👋🏼 I appreciate your videos. I've used my washer 5 times and I'm extremely cautious when loading it. I've only washed delicates and light weight items, yet when spinning it makes a horrible noise and rattles. Is your washer pretty quiet? I think I'm going to have to return mine?

    Very smart💯✅ Tip:keep your extra 🧻 wrapped in plastic until use :) +Excellent grip to remove and rebook, so no wear and tear on hose-- these are not strong, no ends, avoids replacing + leaks✅

    How do you replace the drain hose?

    • @yeslawrence
      @yeslawrence  4 года назад

      I took a look at how it attaches and it looks fairly simple to replace, it's simple held on with a spring hose clamp, but u would need to find the correct replacement hose because if the replacement doesn't fit correctly, it could leak which would be really bad. Also when u go to take off the old drain hose I think any residual water in the washer will leak out. Maybe call around to ur local appliance parts store, I use coast appliance but that is in San Diego. Have the model number of ur washer handy and they should be able to look up the parts for it.

    Please help me with my washer. I live in an apartment and they change all the faucet so we cannot hook up our washer on our own. My only hopes is the water line to the toilet, where bidet hooks up. What do I need to buy to make the connections possible?

    I just got a portable washer and the water isn't traveling through the filler hose for some reason, like there's a blockage or something in the hose itself, but there's not - water will go through the hose OUT, but not IN.
