    What an incredible snatch technician Ronny Weller was, he's was so quick for a super!

    Ronny Weller was so aggressive in both the snatch and especially C&J
    Awesome and impressive to see

    I was there in the crowd at Darling Harbour around 20 rows back from the stage towards the middle. It was an absolute treat to watch these men handle such weights overhead. Even though Rezazadeh won, to me the stand out with incredible power was Weller from Germany. He through the weights up like they were filled with helium! Amazing.

    This Olympics 2000 Sydney WeightLifting Class Men's +105kg definitely the strongest ever competition as the Result for 7 Athlete more than 450kg Total was hard to achieved nowadays in SuperHeavyWeight Class .At least 205 Snatch and 245 CleanAndJerk both combined 👍

    • @barath4545
      @barath4545 3 года назад +3

      And only 4 of them snatched 205 or more!
      The CJ segment back then was WAY better than today if you look away from Lasha!

      @@barath4545 Basicly Lasha was Snatcher ,His Clean&Jerk was improved Couple Years Ago around from 2015 till Now as he increased his BodyWeight .At Sydney 2000 ,This 105kg+ Competition was Rough at Clean&Jerk as Many from Them was Clean&Jerk Setter

    Great video, great competition, big weights lifted and pretty tight. They were all pushing each other. I bet the coaches back stage were frantically changing lift amounts as the mind games start backstage. Brilliant to watch, Chemerkin going after 272.5 kg is amazing to see. Imagine if he made it. Huge C+J, R weller was a great competitor aswel, shame wee dont get this kind of battle now in the super heavies. Lasha has to follow himself for 3 lifts. I hope the super heavies get like this again with 6 or so lifters going big as its so close, taking nothing away from lasha offcourse, he is awesome. I so hope he does the golden 500. 230 snatch, 270 C+J. Or 232 snatch and 268 C+J. Would stand for years, +years+years. Really hope he does it. The only thing i worry about is he has to follow himself for 3 lifts which may just work against him if he is totally maxed out at what weight he does in search of that magical 500 kg total. What history that would be. Super heavies turning up to events and looking up to the screen seeing, Snatch WR-230 kg Lasha Talahadze. + C+J WR-270 kg Lasha Talahadze. + Total WR-500 kg Lasha Talahadze. Just awesome.

      Yes, once there were GENADI WEIGHTLIFTING'S official footage of 2000 weightlifting of all weight classes but unfortunately asshole youtube deleted them because of so called copyrights. It has front views and were much better. This footage was recorded from below and can not see the elbow positions. Rezazades 212,5 snatch and Chemerkin's 260 jerk was total press out and would be given 3 red by referees nowadays.

      I digitized it by myself from an VHS tape. I had to luck to borrow a massive VHS tapes collection from the fromer president of hungarian weightlifting federation (and also former vice-president of EWF) dr. Imre László, and he lent me his collection and I digitized it by myself. I've more than 400hours of weightlifting competitions from 1987 to 2002. It will be years while I can post them. But my goal is that to give these footage with a free access to everybody all over the wolrd. And maybe youtube is the best platform for it now.

    Good to see coaches and managers of today lifting weights. But I'm disappointed that the Olympic games even in year 2000 couldn't record this properly. There's actually a cameraman in front. Wonder who is hoarding that footage
