This is perfect timing for me, Adam! I’m creating a RUclips videos directory (private site) for my favourite videos as RUclips has no way for me to search or make notes on my favourite playlist collections. Thanks for creating this useful plugin!
On my ecommerce site I use RUclips videos from the manufacturer on certain custom built product pages. Thought I would give this a try to see what happens and it doubled my PageSpeed Insight score on both desktop and mobile and cut around 1.2 seconds off the speed index. This is with the FREE version of the plugin, so this is absolutely fantastic and I'll be keeping it installed!
My only improvement request would be an option to show the RUclips video title before play is clicked, but this is not the end of the world as I can add a title above the player.

Thank you for the great plugin and Bravo 👏on the Media Hub, what a practical way to manage all your website videos in one place. It would be a nice feature (even if only under Pro) you could add additional RUclips channel ID in the Integrations section as one of our company has 2 channels for their business and showing videos from these 2 channels on their website. That way when ever people click on the subscribe button they subscribe the channel related to the video their watching. Maybe we're not a typical use case either.
I'll add this to our feature requests. We could add it as a preset option and Pro users can create custom presets.

Hi Nice plugin and do exactly what has been said. But there is a little improvement needed. Lighthouse shows this error "Does not use passive listeners to improve scrolling performance". Hope to see a fix for this soon.

This is brilliant. Please can you tell me how I find it and use it in Elementor Pro. So, do I still have to download the plug in? At the moment, all my videos have been inserted with the Elementor video widget. Will I have to re-do all these with the Presto widget?

Thanks Adam, your videos are always of great value. I tested the FREE version of Presto Player on a standalone word press/elementor pro website & was really impressed. However I didn’t have the same success on our client’s multi-site. The plugin installed & activated on the multi-site network, however it broke the site by not loading all images. I want to continue to use the plugin, Q: is the FREE version not multisite compatible? I couldn’t locate any support for the plugin unless I was a pro user? Grateful for any feedback.

Yes it is, just make sure you web optimize the video. There are instructions on the Presto Player website.

Using a CDN (Cloudflare with Ezoic) we found that more than just the video player was not working. When testing with the free plugin, we found that the rest of the post was not displayed as soon as it tried to render the Preso Player block. Any advice would be appreciated.

Unfortunately the instructions do not match word press 6.0. Would appreciate details for 6.0 cause the step by step doesn't work I have activated presto and it is on my Wordpress side bar. Am I using Backend Editor or Front end Editor or Gutenberg or none of those? can't find - "Insert after" - can't find the + so unable to use the "RUclips presto video" etc.....

Hi there. I'm trying the free version of the plugin for the first time and I've run into an issue. When I added the first video to my post, and used the youtube optimized option, the video comes greyed out so there's no video image even though the video can still be played. I've loaded other videos on the same post and optimized them and they both show proper images. Am I doing something wrong or missing something? Thanks.

Downloaded and followed this. It shows in the edit as per video but doesn't come through in the live blog post. Why is this?
Can you explain the issue more? I am not following. If you followed the video, well there is not much to it, simply adding in your RUclips video url.
I am having the same issue Adam. The videos are visible in my blog post in the edit mode but not in preview nor when I check the updated blog post.

For that option, you need to add the image to the player. So what will happen is, when someone visits your website, the RUclips player won't load until they click play. Instead it will show the local image.
I installed the plugin to my wordpress(Optimizepress) web site and used it on one of my posts with 7 RUclips Videos, however the load time didn't change for some reason. I must be doing something wrong. Page Speed Insights (LightHouse) still showed You Tube loading initially for multiple seconds just like before I installed the plugin. Any ideas?

I don't use Block Editor, if you can make it compatible with the classic editor that would be amazing!
You can use Presto Player in the classic editor. Simply create you video in our media hub.
Something does not work :/ Video is not visible on front-end. I can see it in "preview" mode but after the page update is not visible on that page. Any Ideas? I am using Elementor Pro and video has been added to HUB.
The same problem. I found out that OptiMole css & js have a issue with it.
@@seoboost5231 I am using WP Rocket and I disabled all options related to video, and still, the problem exists.
When I use the regular Elementor video block it is working fine.
Are you using a CDN? If so, some of them block our JS and an exclusion needes to be added.

hey, it sounded too good to be true. firstly thanks for the amazing tutorial and plugin. but unfortunately it doesnt play my youtube short videos, that i am only using for my recips on my website, that are vertical. before on youtube emb i changed the ratio in the html and managed to display it correctly, but with this plugin there is no way to change the format, and nothing is playing. would have been too good if this would have worked. is this something, that can be done in future, perhaps?
Great tutorial, what about gallery video, like having many videos on the page. My web page loads quickly, but the buffering time of each video is over 10 seconds, any solution?
You can use Presto Player to have multiple videos on a single page. We will be adding in a video gallery this year.

Not sure there is much to optimize there because the video has to load anyway.
@@WPCrafter Makes sense. Currently just dropping the optimized video in WordPress so it doesn't have to call it from a third party site like RUclips. I wonder if BuunyNet will allow us to place their CDN video link to pull up the video when placing it as a background.

Love your videos Adam, just tried the Presto player on a divi theme site and got an error when trying to add a youtube video to the Media Hub. the error was, 'Publishing Failed. No route was found matching the url and request method.' I tried several youtube videos and copied and pasted the url for each with the same result. Has this happened to anyone else? any idea what is happening? thanks again for all your work.

I added the presto player to my wordpress site today. The video sits on the page full width. I've tried to reduce the size using the wordpress two options available, but it makes no difference. All I want is a small sized screen to show the video. Sadly, I've had to delete presto player as it will not configure / resize to fit my site properly.
This is not a Presto Player issue, its how you have your layout setup. Any piece of content will site full width unless you place it inside of a container to constrain the width. This goes for all content blocks.
I just benchmark my kadence theme gutenberg site with video pop-up block and three youtube videos. It only loaded 84,2 KB of javascript. *Unconfirmed if it is only JS from the youtube videos.
In Elementor only the widget Presto Player with the option open Choose A Video. Not possible to add youtube or vimeo.

OLS is fine, but it must be a setting you have enabled in their caching performance plugin.

You can use the self host block which allows you to enter in the direct url to a video.

You would have to delete the video and add the block back.
@@WPCrafter but then i loose all my settings e.g. css class which i have set up for my client :(... it would be great if my client can change just the URL. Maybe something for the next release update? :)
@@michaelfoerster3364 We will add it to our features requests. There is a way to do it, but its a tiny bit technical. You can put Gutenberg into code view and change the url there.
