This a bit strange to say for a 51-year old, but I think I want to be you when I "grow up". Your kindness, generosity, and humanity to our fellow people is impressive! I am a professional water quality scientist and appreciate your testing efforts that will help people to understand what they and their pets are drinking.

started my trek to Quartzite a couple days early. Currently in Berea, Kentucky for an overnight stop. Trying to beat the cold/snow. about 400 miles traveled today. Only 1600 more to go! On my way out tomorrow im going to try and eat at Buccees, just a few minutes down the road from where im at. One of those places I always wanted to go. Taking my time. I may have to dip further south than I-40 if its snowy along that route. Head down to I-10 through Texas I imagine. Hope to be in Quartzite as soon as I can. I will finally find out if I like NOMAD life or not. Been considering the two week 40 bucks, just in case I find I dont like it so much haha
A question for you Rob. We are coming down to Quartzsite from Washington next week. Our first time! I think I'm prepared. We will have our dog, Jake, with us. He is a Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog mix and he's pretty active. The ground there looks pretty rocky. Have you tried shoes for Dottie or is that a waste of time? The SO ordered some from Amazon, but I really don't think he will wear them. I doubt we could get him to hold still long enough to put them on and he will probably do his best to get them off! TIA
How far away are those mountains in the background from your campsite? Do they have any roads that will take you up to them or are they something you would have to park and then hike. That would be an amazing sunset/sunrise from the top I would imagine.

Never had a problem with Dottie. However I do not let her go into vegetation. Rocks? She walks on them every day

Any issues with red “sand burs”. Can’t remember what another down there called them. But hard on dogs paws. Some areas have lots down there this year
