Thanks for confirming, Robin. Quite possibly a repeat of Looking at Television but shown under the 'Documentary Re Run' banner. Incidentally, the painting is Portrait of Myself by 9-year old Iain Kirkpatrick, from the Cadbury exhibition.

The producer of this one Richard Handford went on to produce The Bill also the 24th October date would have had half term repeat written all over it

This dates from w/c 24 October 1983. Looking at that term's schedule, the only programme this looks like it could be is Documentary Re Run, which was shown on Mondays, which would date this to Monday 24 October 1983, at about 11.20. This is a repeat of the programme shown on Monday 16 October, so checking listings for either date may give some corroboration.

Actually, it may also be Making a Living, which would date it to the Friday 28 October at 11:03. Again, the listings for that date or the previous Friday may give a clue. Definitely w/c 24 October 1983 though!

Yes, I think this must be Monday 24th October 1983 because the Times bills Documentary Re-Run as "does the presence of a camera crew distort reality?" which seems to fit, whereas Making a Living on Friday is merely billed as "job interviews" which doesn't.

This is probably from autumn 1983 (definitely from either that term or spring 1985).

Very probably: the title is not on the tape label and the entire clip itself is only 5 seconds longer than presented here (pictures of starving people in Africa and Fiddick saying "...that they saw on television"). The rest of the recording has been obliterated by Doctor Who and Brass.

Isn't this the end of "Looking At Television"?
