Thank you guys for the break down! I need to just separate my personal from my business, and I was told by state inspector to either get VLAN or Subnet. What is the equipment I need to purchase to accomplish this?
Hi Michelle! You have a few options: 1. Easiest: get another Internet provider to completely separate. This option is the easiest but more costly (monthly). 2. Get a managed switch and use VLANs, but your router from your Telco may not support this option, so you'll need to check. 3. Get a small business router and set up two subnets (with or without VLAN). Hope this helps!

Say you have server with Database in a server VLAN and you have an applikation and a label printer in a separate printer VLAN how can users print a label with data from the database on application server without being on same VLAN?

those people here providing us with valuable info and taking from there time, you could be at least polite when asking for enhancing the equipment so we can get more

Not only a mic but his pace as well, I couldn't understand a single word what he said.
