After harvesting some corn in December of 2019, and then finishing up that corn in March 2020, I don't mind having to leave it stand in the field longer.... that corn in March turned out much better than in December. That's the thing with videos versus what goes on every single day; a video only shows a sliver of what goes on and some people can't comprehend it. Everyone is setup differently... not saying that all the feedback is bad since i've learned a lot from viewers, but there are a couple that make the eyes roll a bit. Just have to keep pushing along doing what you can with what you got. These are the videos I enjoy the most from farm channels - simply keeping it real and no bias.
Late harvest corn doesn't have as much moisture. And this year, with the 86, I'm not having any issues with cob in the corn from being late. Should I make my life into the Truman show? Then everyone will see all the details, lol.
For what its worth, Im an old man, still living on the farms my father, grandfather, great grandfather operated. Our operation included anything and everything that might make a buck, along with a few that didn't. I watch your videos because it recalls all the “plan changes” associated with breakdowns, crap weather, crappier markets etc but we made it. Perhaps Im like a lot of your viewers, I don't watch to criticize, I watch to appreciate those who can made do and keep in the game. Don't change a thing.
You will never know how many people that are stressed about the evil demonuts watch the type of videos to get relief. Your videos do more for people than all political sports CRAP. We have got ole folks , shut ins, sick or infirmed to watch stuff like you show and they ABOSULUTLY LOVE IT AND SMILE . Thank you and keep it UP..
Hey Jacob - I've been watching for videos for years now and enjoy every one - in fact I look forward to them. I'm a farmer too, in western PA and understand your situation. I don't think you need to explain yourself to anyone. Each of us has to do the best he can based on his own situation, and not everyone else knows what might be going on "behind the scenes". We each need to do what we need to, the way we need to, and when we need to. In my own situation, in May of 2019, I shelled 12 acres of corn I was not able to get off the field in the Fall of 2018. The fields didn't freeze that winter and I had to wait till things dried out in the spring. It was just what I had to do. So, just keep going and do things the way you need to. I think you do very well. I enjoy both your farming and repair videos very much - I learn from them. So, please keep them coming and thanks for your efforts.
I like this time of year why it's harvest time and smelling the corn and soil beans it makes that smell like harvesting and you are right farmer's do feed family's whether meat or dairy products like milk cottage cheese cheese and I'm trying to start a farming operation myself trying to anyway
I drive by your farm quite a bit (I have a buddy that lives on the next road down from you on denman) and I see you guys working sometimes so I know firsthand you guys are busy. You got me as a witness
I just enjoying watching the late harvest videos. When everyone else is producing boring shop videos you can always come here and watch more harvest action
Another great video I never miss one sometimes in farming things don't always go as you want them to. you do what you can do when you can. you have a great one
Farm diversity. Growing up, I remember a lot of the farms were agriculturally diverse. Quite a few were only cash crop. But most milked cows, fed out steers, fed out hogs, chickens (meat and eggs) and grains. A lot of bartering took place between the farms. Hopefully one day the small farms will make a comeback!
Here in easter ND, 2019 crop year was a disaster mud fest. Bought tracs to combine the soybeans, got them done. Combined 1/3 of my corn in February of ‘20 with 18” of snow on ground. Snowed more, so we had to wait till it melted and ground dried some. Corn stood well. Did the last 2/3 of the acres in June of 2020, in mud. Prevent planted 1/3 of the farm in 2020. Everyone around me was in same boat. Your doing just fine.
Thanks for the overview. You are up to alot of different things to keep the different farm enterprises going and the balance is super hard When we dairy farmed it was always a season for something to do in the field. Then there was always the daily routine chores of milking and then there was all the related chores that come with calves, youngstock, and dry cows. I don't remember a year that we didn't have something come between the crops and harvest. Don't worry Folks who don't get that your busy and have livestock to take care of and projects and chores and the other aspects of life taking up time. Jacob just keep at it. I appreciate you sharing you and your family's Operation. I enjoy the fixes and ingenuity, the bin project was awesome. Stay safe and healthy. Thanks for sharing.
Good to hear that you and the family are all well now. We actually got harvest done decent early this year and managed to get over the corn ground once with the disks. Cheers!
That snow was just a taste of what was yet to come.Watching that combine is enjoyable.Your farm, your channel.I see no reason to beat you up from the comfort of my keyboard and couch. I hope all is well with you and your family.
Great video man, definitely my favorite farming channel, the variety of things you do keeps it interesting. The people commenting on “late” harvest probably aren’t even farmers, we’ve harvested in March and April before, saves money on drying it in the bin
Bro I couldn't careless when you harvest or what you do I enjoy watching you guys keep it up champ cheers for taking the time to share your family's farm with us 👌💪
I enjoy your ear picking videos, I got to do some of it as a teenager, helping fill my neighbors corn crib. That turned into a summer job which he did hire me full time . I learned a ton those years and still have fond memories of it. that was more than 40 years ago. thank you Jacob!
If it works for you that's all that matters ! Nobody else is paying your bills nor are they likely to ! Your diversity is what keeps me coming back .. Its obvious that you enjoy what you do and kinda like doing it a little differently !!
Let me just say this thank you for what you do by putting food on everyone's table farmer's are best and farmer's are the most important people on earth and i like the grain farm's and harvest time that's one of the best time's that I've had driving a combine happy harvesting
Your doing us that like harvest videos a favor by making it last until spring 😁😁😁. Keep on keeping on, Sir and thanks for sharing your adventures. 👍👍👍👍✌️
Think you should just say. You run an interesting farming enterprise . Always glad to see that plenty of videos with loads of different things going on. Well done 👍 Stay safe 🏴
Please keep those videos coming. There will always be haters in everything anyone does. I'm proud of what you and your family do. I'm proud of all farmers and what you have chosen to do for life. I always wanted to be a farmer but never had the chance to. But you and all those who post videos about it let's me live it through what you do. Thanks very much for what you do and what you stand for.
When and how you harvest is your business !! I just enjoy your videos !! I will admit I have been waiting on the 2+2 videos . People need to shut up and enjoy the ride !! Thanks farmer !!
Don't listen to the haters they're farmer wannabes mostly I harvest corn in winter months too. We call it winter corn its excellent feed for cows (least where i live anyway) I wish I could help out. Farm work/harvest is so much fun!

And thank you to everyone who farm's and putting food on everyone's table you know farmer's don't get enough credit for what they do but I give credit where credits do and that's to the farmer's
Another great video, liked hearing about what you have been doing. I can watch baling hay and picking corn all day long, wheat harvest not so much. Thank you for another wonderful video. Do you buy your chicken feed or grind yourself.
I prefer your fix it videos, it's not so much about the details and order of operations, it's more about the improvising and making due with what you have. To me atleast that is really appealing and entertaining not to mention motivating.
Screw the whiners! They like to complain about your operation. It helps them deal with their sad pathetic empty lives! I think combining in February looks like fun! P.S. your fix it videos helped me fix my blown O-ring on my 1066! Keep up the good work!

Snow and fairly frozen ground, there will be no ruts and it is easy to see the rows. Luckily, however, you do not live here, where we have about 4 feet of snow everywhere.
Can’t believe people take the time to type and tap critically about your operation. They should get their hands off the screen, rent some land, buy some equipment/seed/fertilizer/tools. Get off the bench and into the game
