As one of your female audience members I have to say that I was indeed inspired by Galadriel... in the Peter Jackson films. RoP Galadriel however was about as interesting and inspiring as waking up on a Saturday morning with a head cold.
I laughed out loud so hard that the warden stopped by and gave me a dirty look. So I grabbed my deceased brother's dagger and threatened him with it. He apologized, and has now subscribed to your channel. Thank you, Galadriel, for teaching me how to behave like an empowered female woman elf person!
When I read the books, Middle Earth felt like home. When I watched P.Jackson movies, Middle Earth felt like home. When I played Lord of the Rings Online, Middle Earth felt like home. Whan I saw the Rings of Power, I wondered why a story in 2022 Los Angeles would have people with pointy ears and hairy feet in it and I felt like if some random Americans were horribly dessecrating everything that I held dear.
The funny thing about them talking about the costumes is that, if you know anything about costume design, you know it was one of *the* laziest parts about the show. They used cheap fabric and printed gold patches onto them, then threw an accessory on to make them look "fancy" in most cases. Golden belts galore in every region. There was very little style variation in most places and the weather didn't seem to be a factor. Some people in the Southlands wear sheep skin, which suggests cold, but then Bronwyn wears a thin strapped dress with a leg slit the whole season, so wtf? I mean, watch any BTS video about the PJ trilogy and you'll see how much thought and care was put into the costumes. Many things were hand sewn, and some symbols were only visible to the actors wearing the costume to help them get into character. And don't the elves like silver better than gold? Why is the elven king walking around like an Oscar statue?
I recently watched a clip from an interview with Karl Urban, and he was showing the helmet he wore as Eomer, and it was so detailed, and he was talking about that. How even when most of those eloborate and small details were not visible to the audience they were still there to make it feel more autentic
I'm PO'd because they turned a character who represents parts of the Virgin Mary and shows strength in femininity and made her some annoying girl boss who's headstrong. She wasn't headstrong, and that's okay. That's not what made her powerful. She was powerful because she WASN'T headstrong and knew when to stay quieter and when it was time to take a stand.
She referred to Galadriel’s arrogance as “refreshing”?! Balletic?! What the FUCK! “I tried to play Galadriel as unelf-like as possible.” She did a great job, at that at least. I’m off to jump off of a bridge, cheers!
I can see it in casting, "so, ur an elf, thousands of years old".... she responds "ok, im gonna try not to play this elf, as an elf". If u mess up the audition then they will think u nailed it, just say it was intentional, brave new take on a character, dont plpay the character. *claps*
"i don't want to be hunted down by galadriel" I do. Clearly she's incompetent since the person she's hunting was besides her during the adventure. And she failed to kill him or stop his "rings of power idea". What i don't want to be is her subordinate or even ally. Because she either gets them in pointless danger or gets abandoned by her.
Every criminal in the world would want to be hunted by Galadriel, she spends 200 years searching for one person, then spends weeks with him right by her side, and then realizes its him and lets him escape. Like, how is that menacing in anyone's mind?
As a young female fan, I only felt more degraded by watching this show, I soon after stopped watching.💀 Your videos are so underrated dude, keep up the great work! XD I love em!
Woman here. Galadriel was the least relatable character and she makes women look emotional, irrational and manipulative. No I don’t feel seen or represented
Kate’s Galadriel had a presence, you could clearly see that she’s powerful and not to be trifled with, she was also kind and she even smiled, imagine,it boggles my mind how those writers perceive kindness as a weakness (apparently) and being a massive dick hellbent on murder as a virtue, what happened? Is the sea always right? Is Gandalf Gandalf? What Galadriel actually seen that we haven’t seen? How many spelling mistakes did I make? I don’t know, and honestly, don’t care.
>how those writers perceive kindness as a weakness (apparently) and being a massive dick hellbent on murder as a virtue, what happened? its 2022. get with the program. entire generations of people have been raised with this ideology. due to the rampant individualism, egotism, narcissism and moral relativism, we are now unable to keep a civilisation running. its every man, woman and child for themselves.
@@TheSuperappelflap well that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but I agree that this current generation is incredibly entitled, demanding and privileged, especially students, but I still believe that majority of people are just normal good people…right?
That’s because the writers and cast don’t understand what true power or confidence is lol If Donald Trump is a poor man’s idea of a rich man, Guyladriel is a weak (wo)man’s idea of a powerful woman
One of the only good things that came from this absolut trainwreck of a series was finding this channel. Great stuff Johnny, great stuff. Really looking forward to your next videos. Also I need bleach for my ears after hearing that stupid boat and stone line again ...
7:15 "You are so extremely wonderful in it." I am not a native English speaker; I took up English as a mandatory foreign language at school and picket up private classes to get a degree recognizing basic competence in the language - and I can assure you that I would had had marks deducted from my very first classes in middle school even, had I dared to write down or even utter: "so extremely wonderful."
The original Galadriel was humble, altruistic and wise. She knew the responsibility that came with the power she held. She is and was one of the most powerful characters in the whole series and you felt it ooze from her at every moment she was present. The rings of power galadriel is a toddler throwing a temper tantrum and all the people responsible for creating her were too stupid to understand the subtle power that original galadriel held.
For this female long-time fan, no dazzle, no inspiration, no representation, no inner Elf - whatever the hell that's supposed to be. And I definitely missed "all there was to love" about this show, because everything about it was garbage. And Jonny, as an American, I would smack that presenter if she spoke to me like I was a toddler.
"Do you know why Rings of power sinks and house of the dragon floats" made me laugh out loud man. Can't believe there's a podcast, who on earth would suffer listening to it after the show.
The funniest shit about that scene about "stone and the boat" is when he whisper in her ear although nobody is there. Trying too hard to create "mistery boxes"
I tried to listen to the RoP Podcast a while ago because I like the actress who is presenting the Podcast. Big Mistake... I made it about 5 minutes in... I got the feeling that she hadn't watched the show yet. It's much more entertaining to listen to it with you! I urge you to watch all of them - and comment to us.
whoever that podcast host(ess) is, she has a nice voice, and my thought is that she was hired because she has a great speaking voice, and that's all. i don't believe she's a nerd for anything, let alone LoTR. WHO thought it was a masterpiece except her?!??!!!
To put yourself through that fever dream of a show, then listen to the actors huff their own farts on the “official podcast”, is a task no one would envy. I think if Gandalf asked Frodo to take the ring to Mordor and then watch RoP, he would’ve said sorry mate I think I’m good. Great vid, stay sane!
Galadriel is awesome! It to the whole Fellowship like an hour to kill a troll. 9 people fighting like forever and Frodo getting stabbed. And Galadriel? Three fancy moves and the troll is down!
I definitely missed all that stuff to love in the Rings of Power. It wasn't difficult to miss something that wasn't there. As a woman, I am not empowered, embarrassed is more like it.
Not to mention that i think i recognize the podcast host as Felicia Day. I liked her for so long, since The Guild actually. She was like a geek nobility to me... Another lost bullet in this disaster of a show. Now i can't forgive her for defending this abomination :( Why, Felicia, WHY ?
they simply gave her a very big bag of gold. yes, its a sell out, but she prolly has bills to pay. and she does give some hints about her real opinion. "extremely wonderful"...😁
My thoughts as well, I had to check, but it's her. Well, contract obligations, money, etc etc are reasons enough. BUT, hear me out, since someone other than me has to listen to this abomination 'cause I can't be arsed to: to be honest, she sounds ... really, really off. I have listened to other podcasts and interviews in the past, and she never sounded as condescending and literally patronizing as she does here. Maybe she's one of us, and also despises what's been done with the source material and coats it in this sugary, overly agreeable tone to cover her sarcasm^^
galadriel had no problems with cutting down all the insignificant random monsters, and threatening anyone who disagreed with her, but her main target , oh no, shes in love with him.
Oh good god, I saw and heard the ads for this podcast and thought, "oh boy, this sure is going to suck." But it was worse than I thought. Much, much worse than I thought. It's like the word "vacuous" came to life and decided to host a podcast. Also, the only thing worse than hearing all the British actors pronounce "Galadriel" as "Gahlahdrrriél" is hearing the American host try to say it that way.
As a bisexual woman, RoP Galadriel is not “girl-crush” material. Meanwhile, the Peter Jackson Galadriel? Oh absolute goddess. A queen. Now THAT is a girl-crush
12:35 Galadriel was NOT perfect in the book, quite to the contrary she was a flawed person. In her interaction with Frodo. She admits that she desired the One Ring and wondered what to do with it if she had it. In no way does the book say she was perfect.
Rings of Power led me to this channel, and for that I will be forever grateful. As a card carrying wahman, I can confidently say that Galadriel in ROP is an insulting character. She’s everything I despise about modern entertainment’s depiction of women. Tolkien knew how to write strong, competent females. Dumb & Dumber don’t. I hope the host of that podcast is okay. Pretty sure she’s being held hostage.
I remember On August 4, 1936, Galadriel won gold in the long jump at the Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany. It was the second of four gold medals She won in Berlin, as she firmly dispelled German Bad guys notion of the superiority of the bad guys of ww2 for all the world to see.
She later jumped into Berlin and single-handedly defeated the 1.LSSAH and beheaded AH to bring the war to an end, and then liberated Auschwitz by herself
@@sidvyas8549 No, I’m pretty sure she said she’d wipe out every single one of their race because they were a perversion of her kind. Doesn’t sound like she’d fight for the allies
Ever since the decline of Geek and Sundry, my affection for Felicia Day has dwindled somewhat. She was once the queen of nerd dom, but has turned corporate shill. Just me?
Speaking as a 55 year old female who is a long time Tolkien fan I am appalled these writers think this is what we want in our heroines. Take heart people with lines like "the sea is always right!" and wizards arriving in middle earth in meteorites it can't get worse. Speaking of...A meteorite, really?! What in the name of Eru Illuvitar were those writers smoking!? Why are they still allowed to write!? Manwe needs to sit them down and tell them about other modes of transportation.
I generally don't like being called a bitch but... well, you make it work. And I do have to say, I'd actually love that training scene in a general fantasy series where there is this way OP elf that has accepted to train some noobs and is condescending to them. But not in Middle Earth. And holy hell, I used to like Felicia Day at one point in my life...
Nothing is worse than the show. I wrote this somewhere else; but we do try to pump your channel up, so here's one more comment on it: "You speak as though she was the only bad thing in the series. She is the main character, and is the worst thing in it - but EVERYTHING in the show was abysmal. First - the dialogue. 'The rock looks down, the ship looks up' & 'the dog may bark at the Moon but cannot bring it down' (and 'tempest' lol) & all that nonsensical failing to be 'Tolkienesque' shit. Then Sauron leaves a map on her brothers body for .....no reason whatsoever. Then ninja turtle Galadriel kills a Troll in 15 sec (the whole fellowship needed around 5 hard minutes to do that, WITH Gandalf) and she obviously brought idiots with no combat skill with her, who couldn't kill a Troll together - to search for Sauron, lol. Then Gil-galad sends those elves to Valinor as if he could even do that (he couldn't). Then a servant girl takes her knife on the ship to Valinor and just LEAVES IT ON THE FLOOR of the ship. WHY? Do they not have cupboards on the ship? Then she takes it from the floor and jumps to her death. Then 'not-Gandalf' rides/is a comet (why?) and doesn't know how to speak. Then Sauron comes out of nowhere in the middle of the ocean near Valinor with some random humans exactly where she is. How? Why? Where was he going with them? Then a Numenorean ship finds them in the middle of a big ass wast ocean - bigger than any we have on earth.... Then a kid and a veterinarian woman kill an orc and make others leave to safety of high ground of the tower. Then Galadriel comes to Numenor and orders them to let her leave, and people that DON'T want her in Numenor make her stay, lol. Then comes a massive miles long trench right next to elven watchtowers; with trees cut all around - but nobody could find them for centuries and the elves leave like the day before we see that. THEN they MAKE UP a new Silmaril, ffs. And the elves are dying in three weeks for no reason. And Mithril is the cure for no specific reason (or logic). Then the vet girl and her people LEAVE the tower that has only one road that leads to it to be slaughtered in a village. And one rope holds the whole tower together. Then Numenorians stumble upon the fucking village just in time to save the vet girl, her kid and his new pappy. Then writers don't know how volcanoes work. Water would not cause an eruption. And such an eruption would not be survivable. Nor would it make the skies permanently dark. Then female ringwraiths (with no rings) appear out of nowhere to find Sauron, and not-Gandalf beats them and starts talking fluently in an instant. Then Galadriel gets mad at Sauron for her insisting he's the King. He never once lied. Then dialogue - again. Needs to be mentioned at least twice. Then stealing sentences from LOTR, stealing Balrog design from LOTR, stealing Sauron's armor from LOTR , stealing wraiths from LOTR, adding Hobbits, fucking up timelines. Then - dialogue. (Notice how there is no "this happens, 'therefore this'" - only 'then this' - things just.... happen, one after the other. A true mark of genius writing) And that's it. That's the show. It is literally abysmal in EVERY way. " ....they should have paid random 16 yr old Tolkien nerds to write proper & good fan fiction
The irony is, if the showrunners really wanted to create 'Strong Women', they only needed to look at Battlestar Galactrica (reboot) for inspiration. They got it right, yes they swopped out main characters Starbuck, for example, but the result was superb. Even after 15 years or so BSG, still knocks the socks of Rings of Purgatory. Keep going Jonny love your approach.
I think also even when done well, in the kinda woke climate we are in, nowadays if they pulled something like that people think "yeh, ofc... gotta be progressive and get woke points". all female ghostbusters comes to mind here. But back then it was just a cool idea and new take and it worked! It was not to be woke it was just an idea a writer or director had. Now everything just feels forced and done for the wrong reasons and it sours things that could have been amazing had those intentions not been the root of the decision.
"I see that in your performance". Like what? The noble elven lady that saw right into peoples' hearts even when she was still a child and was one of the most empathetic beings ever to walk on the face of Arda? You see THAT in Morfydd Clark's performance. You have not seen what I have seen.
Yes, 'balletic' is a real word, no, nothing in the show was balletic. There was no grace in anything, a better word would have been 'blunt'. Now then, Jonny, did you get kidnapped and locked in a basement? That wall looks like it might be enough clue to go off of if I were to hire the 'He Will Not Divide Us Hide and Seek 4 chan brigade'...
Even if they wanted to improve the second season, they wouldn't be able. Because they don't have the rights to the material. They shouldn't have touched the second age since they don't have the rights they require.
'you inspire women around the world who feel like they have an inner elf' is the most cringe-inducing line I have heard this year. 10/10 don't want to hear it again
The only thing I miss from Rings of Power are videos of people like you, Disparu or the Drinker among others. Mocking and pointing (details I sometimes missed) how ridicule and stupid was everything in each episode.
12:35 they're so idiotic it's actually concerning Galadriel in Lotr says herself she's the most flawed of them all, having access to all the power in the world but yet being unable to stay away from the madness it'll bring her to try and use it, even for good.
Wow I haven't actually experienced the sensation of being brought to the point of feeling physically ill and wanting to throw so quickly until hearing that few seconds of the podcast that you played at the beginning.
God, so conflicted. On one hand, you can hear the obviously scripted writing from someone who just got the cliff notes of the show and then read by Felicia Day in a God awful cringe way. On the other hand, Felicia Day is bae in New Vegas as Veronica. Edit: Nevermind Day took that cringe and somehow made it so powerful it created a blackhole out of my other phone.
Bezos kind of got screwed on the Tolkien license of the show. What was supposed to be based on the Silmarillion really has nothing to do with those stories. If anything Rings of Power is Tolkien-esque or Tolkien light. It's a bad concept. It's like Bad Robot and Star Trek, or Secret Hideout and Discovery. Trappings of shows but not really anything related to the original content. In the cases of those two companies, they did it that way to maintain ownership. I suspect once Paramount realizes they've wasted a ton of money, they'll kick Bad Robot and Secret Hideout out and reboot Star Trek once again. Bezos can do that with the showrunners but I don't know that the Rings of Power will get any better. I hate the way Amazon promoted the show with purchased news articles and youtubers, and other paid content creators fawning over the show even though it was drek.
As a woman, "strong female characters" are the last thing I look for when I consume media. I don't need a female character to relate at all. Dudes work just as well, as long as they are just GOOD CHARACTERS. Galadriel was hands down one of the worst characters I've ever seen - so aggressive and hot tempered, who would want to relate to THAT?!
I have to disagree with you on this one Jonny. I've had insomnia for many years now and the ROP show was a beautiful medicine. I'd be asleep within 10 minutes of every episode. This podcast however, I only have to Think about listening to it and I am Lights Fuckin Out. It's truly wonderful. Edit: Thanks for putting yourself through this shite mate and spare the rest of us. A real hero
Elide doesn't make sense in the context he used it... "We're not trying to omit, we're trying to elide". So, "we're not trying to omit, we're trying to suppress." Is it any wonder people didn't trust them to be authors?
I searched up the meaning of the word, and 'Oxford Languages' has the word 'elide' defined as 'omit (a sound or syllable) when speaking' (first definition). 😂
Woman here, RoP's Galadriel was a great disappointment. When will story creators realise that warrior women aren't the only kind of strong woman? Living life as a woman and developing real female strength has nothing to do with wielding a sword. I enjoy warrior women characters, but only when they feel like real women to start with, and they are by no means the only type of strong female characters out there.
As a woman, I have always loved Elves. The Silmarillion is my favorite book, and I love learning about the history of Elves. That being said, the Elf that inspired me was Arwen. She's soft and gentle and I like that. She wasn't weak for that though. Also let's look at Luthien from the Silmarillion. THAT is an inspiring female Elf!
I was vaguely upset by Rings of Power at the time I watched it - other than a true disgust of what they did to Galadriel. But OMG that quickly escalated to ferocious burning fury when I watched those 2 pretentious smug show runners talking , & heard a bit of these podcasts. It’s just mind- blowing how STUPID they think their audience is!!!!
It was a Travis day and those of us who said it was from day one of marketing Can take a victory lab and deserve to. I was originally excited for the show when it was 1st announced butWhen I saw the turn Star Wars took as well as Marvel and so many others I became more and more ervous about what Amazon would do. I'll begin to load Amazon and everyone involved with the project once I saw the marketing of of it in 2020 21. I did a little Google search and found that Christopher talking died Roughly a month before all the interviews and 1st looks started coming out. Christopher died January 6th of 2020.
Me too. Today, after going through this show I can no imagine, how I ever could be excited, to have a LOTR show by Amazon. I had great hopes, but as they focused on „the most expensive show ever made“ and seeing the marketing, my hopes turned into concerne. All my fears have come true, so sad and dissapointing.
@@samuel_m84 It just comes to show when the rod is at the top everything is affected. Both Lindsey and Jennifer said things like Tolkien and needed to be updated for a modern audience or it only makes sense that an adaptation of to Tolkien would reflect what the world actually looks like today. Then you had their She's telling us that we were taking comments like that out of context.
Don't worry, Johnny. You read this right. As soon as she started talking my first (and I mean immediate instinct) thought was as follows: "Wait this is for kids? That's weird." This is the "preschool maybe elementary school" teacher voice. As in, the age range of ~3-10 years old. No exaggeration, this is the voice of people talking to toddlers and young children who can still shop for clothes sized by their age. When I realized it was, indeed, for adults, I had a visceral, disgusted reaction. This isn't just "American Sitcom" voice, this is "I'm talking to you like you're a toddler" voice. Patronizing. Degrading. What the hell??
There is a story in the Guardian about all the waste this show made. They made fake soil and trees! Which was all binned afterwards. Maybe this helps explain where some of the money went.
As one of my mates said, the only way when this piece of "product" could have worked is if, in the very end, we had discovered that all the story was made through the eyes of the evil side. That would have explained this disgusting version of Galadriel, these inadequate actions of elves and humans (the final "big battle" is just a crap) and their pathetic dialogues. In such case, the ridiculous pseudo-epic pseudo-philosophy of the elves becomes quite relevant as well. And the only more or less "good guy" becomes Adar (quite nicely perfomed by Joseph Mawle, I dare say). In this scenario, who knows... maybe our sufferings from all the panopticon would be much less. But! I have a slight concern about the ability of the RoP team to come up with smth like that (even considering the fact that this plot twist isn't the most brilliant idea of all times). p.s. Hope I've expressed the main thought correctly, 'cause I'm not a native English speaker

I like your style, it's a cool way of saying it S#*% it a comical way. I'm from NZ and poor Peter was getting upset when Media talked a lot crap about him, it fueled him to be better. In Cannes, he gave them a 26 min preview and party to get them off his back so he could continue working. He didn't expect anything in return nor talk about his movies, you just had to watch it. This is where unfortunately the US fails, when you get ahead of yourself and all else fails. I hate to say that but its true
I know this is late, but first wanted to say this was a fantastic video, and second, as to your question: I am a woman and I hated Galadriel. HATED her. I have read the Silmarillion, and if I ever decide to channel my "inner Elf", it will be through the words of Tolkien and not through her maniacal, evil self-centered genocidal character. One more thing: to Amazon and all those who try to say Tolkien was a racist: He went to war to FIGHT AGAINST ADOLF HITLER. His dearest friends died in that war. That is what he sacrificed for the human race. What was your greatest battle? Arguing on Twitter that your crap show is really amazing?

Kate’s Galadriel had a presence, you could clearly see that she’s powerful and not to be trifled with, she was also kind and she even smiled, imagine,it boggles my mind how those writers perceive kindness as a weakness (apparently) and being a massive dick hellbent on murder as a virtue, what happened? Is the sea always right? Is Gandalf Gandalf? What Galadriel actually seen that we haven’t seen? How many spelling mistakes did I make? I don’t know, and honestly, don’t care.
But do you know why a ship floats n a stone sinks?
I bet you're too dumb to know, I bet
>how those writers perceive kindness as a weakness (apparently) and being a massive dick hellbent on murder as a virtue, what happened?
its 2022. get with the program. entire generations of people have been raised with this ideology. due to the rampant individualism, egotism, narcissism and moral relativism, we are now unable to keep a civilisation running. its every man, woman and child for themselves.

One of the only good things that came from this absolut trainwreck of a series was finding this channel. Great stuff Johnny, great stuff. Really looking forward to your next videos. Also I need bleach for my ears after hearing that stupid boat and stone line again ...
I completely agree on both topics
Hear hear
Aye same! This has been the best part of the show for me
This podcast is unintentional comedy gold. So much talked about and so little said.
this podcast is like a wound you thought it had healed is ripped open and infected again.
You opened it n it's instantly infected?
Where the hell did you open it? While fixing a sewage pipe?
Not cool bruh
This show is sewage, so the analogy checks out
7:15 "You are so extremely wonderful in it."
I am not a native English speaker; I took up English as a mandatory foreign language at school and picket up private classes to get a degree recognizing basic competence in the language - and I can assure you that I would had had marks deducted from my very first classes in middle school even, had I dared to write down or even utter: "so extremely wonderful."
That’s very reassuring to hear, thank you Melanie!
"Do you know why Rings of Power sinks, while House of the Dragon floats?" LMAO
Well she didn't say it's a masterpiece for free.
She got paid to call the show masterpiece
If I got paid, I'd do the same bruh
Where do I sign up
@Jamie Pritchard who?
Never heard of her. What ever she has been I don't remember her being in that show and the list is little of what I can remember.
Frodo would have thrown himself into the volcano rather than watch rings of power 50x LMAO 😂
Galadriel is awesome! It to the whole Fellowship like an hour to kill a troll. 9 people fighting like forever and Frodo getting stabbed.
And Galadriel? Three fancy moves and the troll is down!
If only the fellowship had brought a woman. She could have killed the Balrog while Gandalf safely exited with the others.
they didnt have the power of a p***y. gandalf doesnt count, he is only gay off screen.
She is very far from awesome in this show
@@MakerInMotion, They did bring a woman with them but at least Frodo got stabbed by the troll.
As a lady I can tell you I most certainly was NOT dazzled.
As a woman, I fell asleep halfway through the first episode 💀
I’m so grateful for Rings of Power bringing us all to Johnny Law
Silver linings and all that eh 😭
I definitely missed all that stuff to love in the Rings of Power. It wasn't difficult to miss something that wasn't there. As a woman, I am not empowered, embarrassed is more like it.
Not to mention that i think i recognize the podcast host as Felicia Day. I liked her for so long, since The Guild actually. She was like a geek nobility to me...
Another lost bullet in this disaster of a show. Now i can't forgive her for defending this abomination :(
Why, Felicia, WHY ?
they simply gave her a very big bag of gold. yes, its a sell out, but she prolly has bills to pay. and she does give some hints about her real opinion.
"extremely wonderful"...😁
You actually believed she was a real geek girl? Oh you poor summer child would you like to buy some magic beans?
My thoughts as well, I had to check, but it's her. Well, contract obligations, money, etc etc are reasons enough. BUT, hear me out, since someone other than me has to listen to this abomination 'cause I can't be arsed to: to be honest, she sounds ... really, really off. I have listened to other podcasts and interviews in the past, and she never sounded as condescending and literally patronizing as she does here. Maybe she's one of us, and also despises what's been done with the source material and coats it in this sugary, overly agreeable tone to cover her sarcasm^^
galadriel had no problems with cutting down all the insignificant random monsters, and threatening anyone who disagreed with her, but her main target , oh no,
shes in love with him.
It surprised me, Guyladryell wasn't young yet she wasn't mature enough. Her wisdom was abysmal...
My boss is a high school student and he shows more maturity than a thousand year old elf.
Underrated comment^^
She later jumped into Berlin and single-handedly defeated the 1.LSSAH and beheaded AH to bring the war to an end, and then liberated Auschwitz by herself

Remember that meme about NPCs? ... I think that podcast woman is one of them. She just speaks lines that she is supposed to by her dark master Amazon.
I wrote this somewhere else; but we do try to pump your channel up, so here's one more comment on it:
"You speak as though she was the only bad thing in the series.
A true mark of genius writing)
And that's it. That's the show. It is literally abysmal in EVERY way. "
....they should have paid random 16 yr old Tolkien nerds to write proper & good fan fiction

No. I write elves. She is no elf.
12:35 they're so idiotic it's actually concerning
Galadriel in Lotr says herself she's the most flawed of them all, having access to all the power in the world but yet being unable to stay away from the madness it'll bring her to try and use it, even for good.
19:54 - "Wow, that's really fascinating"

I've never heard a less sincere sounding voice than I have on this podcast. This so someone saying things they do not believe in whatsoever.
I'm hoping the second season gets axed. I can't stand any more shitting on Tolkien's world.

The Galadriel in the LOTR series by Peter Jackson was very inspiring, the ROP 'Guyladriel', not even close...
I actually laughed out loud at that hissing after the creators were presented. Bravo!

Don't worry, Johnny. You read this right. As soon as she started talking my first (and I mean immediate instinct) thought was as follows:
"Wait this is for kids? That's weird."
This is the "preschool maybe elementary school" teacher voice.
Absolutely. Galadriel knew she wasn't perfect and that's why she refused the Ring. She knew what the Ring would unleash within her.
So, that's where the money went! Podcasts, commercials, advertising, social media influencing...
There is a story in the Guardian about all the waste this show made. They made fake soil and trees! Which was all binned afterwards. Maybe this helps explain where some of the money went.

I wish could find a passage to a alternate time line where woke idiotism was never a thing imagine how good movies and tv shows would be by now
As one of my mates said, the only way when this piece of "product" could have worked is if, in the very end, we had discovered that all the story was made through the eyes of the evil side.

When he read the part of the plot about characters being all over I literally said the same thing as you. Said out loud it sounds even stupider.
