I saw that episode many times. I checked out what $1100 was now compared to then. Back then it would take years to save that. $1100 went quite a long way compared to now. I also loved Mr. Brady's reaction when Greg said about finding $1100. Great show.

When Mike said, "What's going to happen, if they get it?", Carol had that, " I hope they don't" look. If the kids did get the money, $183.33 for each one then would be more than $1100 for each one today.

@johnoconnor6356 I’m a recently-retired nurse. During my last couple years at work, I did one extra shift every week to help fund an early retirement. For each extra shift I would get 13 hours of overtime pay at $51 an hour plus a $500 bonus. That is a total of $1163 gross income for one shift.

Simplistic but it's wholesome. Unlike today's shows that try to be SO deep and sophisticated, but aren't.

If this was filmed in 1971, that money would be worth around $8200 today. A stash of loot for sure. In the early 1990s my mom found an envelope somewhere in public containing $500. She gave it me to enjoy as I liked. Such a lovely gesture.

Msr your mom should have turned it over to the police and after 30 days if no one claimed it then it could be yours

There would have been no way to prove the money was theirs unless they jotted down all the serial numbers and nobody does that. It's just one of those unfortunate losses we've all experienced in one way or another.

@@michaelvaladez3012 . Those can and do get lost, misplaced, stolen, or hacked and then used, until the card holder puts a hold on or cancels the card. Pincodes aren't even required in every case and I think they should be. It would certainly prevent a good deal of the fraud we all wind up eventually paying for.
