Edit: stop telling me what heppens to the person. I know how it FEEL. Big difference.
Edit 2: tell me how you think it feels.
The same reaction would occur if the person were to inject bleach into his/her bloodstream, {it'll be a slow death, i don't recommend}
But it wouldn't be the same if the person were to drink the bleach directly
First, it'll cause burning in the mouth, throat, etc. as it goes down and would create a major lung and kidney failure.

New video: dry ice in a vacuum chamber. How long before it evaporates compared to being outside of the chamber?
Sublimates*
That would not be a really easy experiment to try.
Co2 is a gas. If you put it in a vacuum chamber it will start sublimating to expand into the chamber. You would literally just be sucking it out co2 until there is no more.
@@metamorphicorder what about if it was placed in a container, then when the chamber is at full vacuum and the suction is off, the container was opened? He's pretty good with magnets, I'm sure he could pull that off...
@@AwakenEmile put dry ice in a 2 liter soda bottle, cap it and see what happens. It pops as the pressure inside it becomes too much to hold. So if you seal dry ice inside anything, it will eventually pop. It will deffinitely pop if you then reduce the pressure around it in a vacuum chamber.

Realising the mistake and not correcting it is another mistake.
You didn't really explain what chemical reaction is going on there. NaCIO with the plasma in the blood - albumins, globulins, and fibrinogens and the hemoglobin. How would each react? What was causing the heat and gas? What was the gas - you didn't test it. What was the volume of gas released? The blood has fluid elements and solid elements, what is that white stuff in the end??
Nerd

I was thinking it might have a stabilizer in the tube that the bleach was reacting to.
k+edta this would have been better on a tube w/out an additive.
I believe that since blood is mostly blood cells rather than water, the bleach separated the two and bleached the water, and with time bleached the blood cells as well.

HI ARMYYY
He's a bloody legend!
Hello! Cool experiment! The vial used to store your blood has a bit of EDTA - ethylene diamine tetracetate. It might cross react with the bleach and cause chunking too, in case you were wondering :)
I work as a healthcare professional and I often use bleach/peroxide to rid my apron of blood stains 😛
Healthcare professional... right. Lol j/k
I'm glad you said that purple vacutainers have EDTA in and I don't know how long or what temp they store at best so it might be better with freshly drawn blood from a syringe? He could easily draw his own blood, he's a clever non squeamish guy he'd just need some kit, I practised on myself when I was learning 😂
I used hydrogen peroxide to clean up blood from a nose bleed once. (There was blood everywhere, it was just as I got out of the shower and I didn't know until I looked down after maybe a minute.thank god I had like 5 bottles of peroxide)
Believe it or not hydrogen peroxide is one of the only things that can clean up blood and make it unable to be found by crime scene investigators. Bleach doesn't cover it up when they use a spray and UV light, but the hydro peroxide does. So you actually used the right thing to properly sanitize lol
@@angelamazakas2624 but isn't bleach watered down hydrogen peroxide?
@@ojalnherbooks oo i see
Maurice Estelle Two completely different things. Hydrogen Peroxide has two hydrogens and two oxygens, whereas bleach is its own separate thing. Hydrogen peroxide tends to oxidize things. I’d label it as less dangerous compared to bleach. You probably wouldn’t want to drink it, though.
I use hydrogen peroxide for blood, mainly, although I have used it to sterilize things in a gentler way (bleach+fish tank=disaster) since it’s supposed to break down in water. People use it to kill algae and stuff in fish tanks too, and it’s supposed to be good to clean cuts. Bleach, on the other hand, is used for vastly different things. Both are similar in some ways but very different too. You probably wouldn’t want to be pouring bleach on your cut unless it’s diluted (like, the amount they recommend to sanitize water diluted).

Man you should be my science teacher 👨🏫 it would be fun to do a lot of experiments like that
The solids might be the formed elements in the blood. If you spin blood down in a centrifuge, there’s a part that turns a straw/yellow color and then you get the layer of what I’m assuming is the same as what you saw when you combined the blood with bleach.

I’m curious to know if there would be any changes with different blood types.... most likely very small change, but ir would be cool to see
I have a connection. So my friend has a pool close to her house and she said that the bleach from the pool took her hair color. Because it used to be all dark brown and now half way of her hair is blonde.
So I've been watching you for almost two years now - I hope you see this! From the hydraulic press to extracting cyanide from apples to all the random in betweens....
I love how you don't do experiments just to do them... you actually explain the science behind it, showing the math, or the chemistry involved, in particular in this video, the chemical bonds and the reason the blood is actually coagulating.
I mean I knew it would, but I definitely did not know the whole science behind it... it's reasons like this why I watch your channel :D (I also like your voice and style of teaching, it's relatively calm and not too stupid, but still easy enough that most people will understand with some basic high school knowledge lol).
Keep up the great work - we need some more intelligence in this world!
Well fellas, I found my suicide method

Hahaha same!
I’m not trusted with bleach at home
It's not a fun death, nor is it anywhere near quick so I don't recommend it. But I also don't recommend suicide in general so. KEEP FIGHTING YOURS DEMONS!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!
Vince Candy I thought about the same too at first, but it's probably really painful and slow so not considering or recommending this method.
That explains why I was always told to avoid bleach with an open wound
This is so funny this is something I have wondered before
What if you fill a balloon with sulfur hexafluoride and helium what would happen and what would happen if you inhaled it and talked would your voice change or stay the same

I love this channel
It's so entertaining!!
Well if mixture of blood and bleach became hot then can it be used in case of frost bite and hypothemia keeping in mind the clotting factor of blood.
You should try bleaching molten metal. Or maybe even slime, paint (black 2.0), or even household objects. You could also try to create solid bleach.
That's awesome! I have to wonder what compound the iron is in at the end though? And what were the gasses exactly? I'd love some more detailed chemical analysis on this!
