There's a grave misunderstanding here. The case she won was not against the studios it was against her lawyers. She hired shitty lawyers accusing them of breach of contract and malpractice and won that case and the judge rewarded her court and lawyer fees. Nothing from the movie studio. She lost her case to the movie studio because she didn't turn in her evidence, that being the movie scripts the treatments and whatever else she said they stole. And the last thing is the book itself. The first 50 pages is the actual story and then the rest is documents about the case. This sounds like the evidence I discovered some years back and I gave up interest in this topic. I was curious when this video was recommended. You do need to check both sides of the story though, in order to arrive at the correct conclusion. Probably wouldn't have made a video unless I was truly sure.

If you actually read the court documents, Miss/Mrs. Stewart lost the case as the court determined that her book was NOT the actual source of the material, instead Harlan Ellison was a primary source of the material (1957). Also, I have read her book, and all that is there is a vague outline of a techno story - no real reference to the "Matrix" or Terminator elements. Most of it is just the back and forth court documents. In addition, she tried to sue one of her lawyers when he wasn't even her lawyer! Basically, the court found her lawsuit to be frivolous and without merit. I have no problem with writers getting compensated, but in this case she did not deserve any compensation. Please do your homework, and stop spreading misinformation.

With a little googling you could have found out that Harlan Ellison wrote two episodes for the Outer Limits that James Cameron stole for the inspiration for The Terminator movie "Demon with a Glass Hand" and "Soldier". The episode of "Soldier" opening looks like the opening of the Terminator movie. If she is lying about creating The Terminator movie she is lying about The Matrix as well. I heard about this story years ago. If you look at the whole story of The Terminator and The Matrix, it actually makes alot of sense. John Connor/Neo is hunted as a child by the machines and grows up to be the human Messiah that ends the war against the machines.

I thought the idea for Terminator came from an old "Outer Limits" episode called "The Soldier" from the mid '60s. James Cameron had to pay the author of that treatment a settlement and includes that author's name in the closing credits of Terminator.

Interesting that when her story is told no one mentions anything about what happened in her matrix and terminator inspiring stories except for that they inspired those stories! Seemingly because the similarities between her book/script and those movies are vague at best. E.g, in her book there is a planet called Sorr which is populated by, but not controlled by machines, these machines help a group called the Rothfellers to rule Earth. A hero comes to save earth from the Rothefellers and the machines.... There have been countless stories along those lines.

She actually reversed all of her claims in court in 2005. This is something she fails to mention in her interviews. Having lost her case, The Wachowskis waived collection of court fees. Nine years later, she claimed the lawyers had been negligent and was awarded a refund of those unclaimed fees. I’ve done some research into this and can’t find any news to substantiate the claims made in this video. The last update as recently as Feb 2022 is that Sophia Stewart’s lawsuit was dismissed in 2004.

They'll call you two to three weeks later and tell you that your work does not fit the current style. It's 6/27/2022, and this is my first time finding out about Sophia Stewart. Somewhere on the peripheral of my thoughts, I'd always wondered why there were no 'based on the novel by' credits on either of the movies. Normally, when I'm impressed with a movie I'll read the book it was based on. I guess now I know why "The Terminator" and "The Matrix" are the exception to my literary experience.
What is this? The Third Eye is nothing like either movie. Stewart herself admitted this when she reversed all her claims in court. Perhaps you should read the 2005 court docs.
A problem here is that the Matrix and Terminator reference material that predates the work of the woman mentioned. Le Jetee (1962), World on a Wire (1973), and the writings of Foucault have a much stronger connection to the themes/ imagery of the Matrix than what she alleges was stolen from her.
This should certainly have more views to inspire more black writers who can continue to show us in our greatness as we all know yts depict us and tell OUR stories however they see fit. Dr John Clarke said if they control what we see, they control how we see ourselves and this is why our kids are dealing with issues and foolishness today.

Maybe you can’t read, it was clarified in court that she submitted her script to them, years later they created the terminator . And they tried to pay her off and then she ends up winning the lawsuit.

There's a grave misunderstanding here. The case she won was not against the studios it was against her lawyers. She hired shitty lawyers accusing them of breach of contract and malpractice and won that case and the judge rewarded her court and lawyer fees. Nothing from the movie studio.
She lost her case to the movie studio because she didn't turn in her evidence, that being the movie scripts the treatments and whatever else she said they stole.
And the last thing is the book itself. The first 50 pages is the actual story and then the rest is documents about the case. Her story is 50 pages and doesn't even relate to those movies in the slightest.

This sounds like the evidence I discovered some years back and I gave up interest in this topic. I was curious when this video was recommended. You do need to check both sides of the story though, in order to arrive at the correct conclusion. Probably wouldn't have made a video unless I was truly sure.

If you actually read the court documents, Miss/Mrs. Stewart lost the case as the court determined that her book was NOT the actual source of the material, instead Harlan Ellison was a primary source of the material (1957). Also, I have read her book, and all that is there is a vague outline of a techno story - no real reference to the "Matrix" or Terminator elements. Most of it is just the back and forth court documents. In addition, she tried to sue one of her lawyers when he wasn't even her lawyer! Basically, the court found her lawsuit to be frivolous and without merit. I have no problem with writers getting compensated, but in this case she did not deserve any compensation. Please do your homework, and stop spreading misinformation.

With a little googling you could have found out that Harlan Ellison wrote two episodes for the Outer Limits that James Cameron stole for the inspiration for The Terminator movie "Demon with a Glass Hand" and "Soldier". The episode of "Soldier" opening looks like the opening of the Terminator movie. If she is lying about creating The Terminator movie she is lying about The Matrix as well. Ellison sued and won a lawsuit against Cameron.

I heard about this story years ago. If you look at the whole story of The Terminator and The Matrix, it actually makes alot of sense. John Connor/Neo is hunted as a child by the machines and grows up to be the human Messiah that ends the war against the machines.

I heard the Matrix being stolen. The Terminator, from what I understand, came from the Harlan Ellison Outer Limit's teleplay "Soldier". Harlan did have legal action against Cameron to have credit and money awarded to him. That show was ln the early 1960's.

Interesting that when her story is told no one mentions anything about what happened in her matrix and terminator inspiring stories except for that they inspired those stories! Seemingly because the similarities between her book/script and those movies are vague at best. E.g, in her book there is a planet called Sorr which is populated by, but not controlled by machines, these machines help a group called the Rothfellers to rule Earth. A hero comes to save earth from the Rothefellers and the machines....
There have been countless stories along those lines.
I doubt she even wrote that! This is the same woman who, while claiming to have been inspired by Star Wars, called its main villain Dark Vador.
It takes only a few items of additional information to determine her actual role in all of this.
Her cased ended on the cut-off point for filing against The Wachowskis.
She actually reversed all of her claims in court in 2005. This is something she fails to mention in her interviews.
Having lost her case, The Wachowskis waived collection of court fees.
Nine years later, she claimed the lawyers had been negligent and was awarded a refund of those unclaimed fees.
Sounds like she was simply hired as a counterfeit victim to run down the clock, meaning The Wachowskis did in fact use stolen work. It just wasn't hers.

I’ve done some research into this and can’t find any news to substantiate the claims made in this video. The last update as recently as Feb 2022 is that Sophia Stewart’s lawsuit was dismissed in 2004.

I was told "to not submit my portfolio" to advertising agencies that are looking for commercial artists for jobs?
I asked, "Why?"
This former advertising director replied by telling me that these agencies are just looking for art and design ideas;

And tell you to come pick up your work, and try again with new work in four months.

She never won a case, sued her lawyers, and it has been shown in court that her work wasn’t any where close to those movies. I had no idea that the media had shut down every means of Sophia Stewart's struggle to prove her story concepts were plagiarized.

What is this? The Third Eye is nothing like either movie. Stewart herself admitted this when she reversed all her claims in court. Perhaps you should read the 2005 court docs.
A problem here is that the Matrix and Terminator reference material that predates the work of the woman mentioned. Le Jetee (1962), World on a Wire (1973), and the writings of Foucault have a much stronger connection to the themes/ imagery of the Matrix than what she alleges was stolen from her.

Still, there's a lot more information surrounding this phenomenon, and since you mentioned particular things here, you should know - the actual stolen source material was written by a black kid who was 21 at the time (1991), meaning he would have been too young to dip into 1960s fare.
