The begging behavior comes from decades of being made to think we can’t do anything without help. That whatever anyone else does is superior to ours. We’ve allowed others to create our education system and they’ve taught us to be subservient and not ever look to surpass them. We also have a habit of selecting leaders who are charming and speak well. We think good speakers are also good leaders. We’re not in the habit of looking for people with vision and a successful track record of doing what we need them to do. But this is starting to change and it makes me very happy to see. We’re so much better than we’ve been lead to believe. It’s time we take our power back.
