When you touched on the "awareness" that some others are in the room, or knowing what your ate doing, eating etc. Is it because your kids do not have 100% of all the senses? I know that when my younger brother was born with blindness, I would always say that if he was born that way then how could he know any different? Anyone can lose a sense, and we get frustrated b/c we know it's something we once had that's now gone. The past 5 years I've been so ill and living on feeding tubes so much so that my body didn't even produce saliva. Then when I began to use hard candies to produce saliva, everything tasted like dirt. Also my smell and hearing have become hypersensitive
Can we see one of hannah's voice lessons please? And another one of obeds music therapy too in a little while to see how well he's doing. I love obed so much and Hannah has such a beautiful voice too.
One thing I know, Obed and Jesse are highly intelligent. They might not be able to communicate in a way we consider "normal" but they are aware of a lot more than people think. They are a gift to witness. ❤️
Yah, Obed seems very intune with his surroundings and makes great efforts in communicating all the time! And he kept that beat so effortlessly! Making music such a great exchange between people which hes fantastic at!
Musics just so important to ones quality of life, mental health and cognitive development, (and motor skills when playing an instrument). This house should be full of music and musical instruments, listening and playing.
@@SixBlindKids Thank you so much!!!!!! I am truly excited to become a board certified music therapist! Also, I have really enjoyed following your amazing family for the past few years!! So much love and laughter in that house, lol!! Hannah is always cracking me up!!!!!
He also changes his rocking motion to the beat of the songs. It's also interesting how he sort of mumbles the words/tune "inside of his mouth" (if that makes sense) even when it's hard for him to verbalize them completely through speech.
he definitely said Dad! and I heard done a few times he is doing great Zoey is super good with him for sure but the best thing for me is that sweet smile he melts my heart
Wow, the music therapy is really helping Obed come out of his shell. You can see he really likes it and trying to communicate. The music teacher is great.🥰 Aw this video made my heart happy.
Well done and thank you to Zoë for being happy being filmed. I’m a teacher too, and am confident that I usually do a good job and interact with the students well, but I’d still be very self-conscious being filmed, and she has such an additional challenge here of having to keep the interaction going within Obed’s restricted range of response and including when he might not really be responsive at all. Great job.
Zoe is such a good sport! I also think it is important to her as well as the company she works for to promote awareness about just how beneficial Music Therapy can be! It really should be a more widely accepted form of therapy! We're getting there!! 😉😊❤❤❤
Oh, miss Zoe is back 😍 I love see her working with the kids. She is adorable and so sensitive. She captures every mood and need of the kids and can immediately switch to another technique when it’s necessary. She is a gift! And Obed worked so hard. He was really attentive and tried so hard. I never saw him vocalizing so much before. I bet he slept for hours afterwards 😆 There is just one problem: the hello-song! It is so catchy for me, I have to sing it over and over again for the next week or so. After the last video with miss Zoe it was the same. I can not get it out of my head. Damn 😉 Love from Germany, Mimi
Would the music teacher be interested in doing an interview about her process? Its amazing! Obed is very bright and engaged and its good to see his progress in expressing himself
Yes! We are planning that, but are waiting for mask restrictions to be done first. It will be easier for everyone to hear what she has to say. Hopefully not too much longer! 😉😊❤❤❤
We are lucky to have her! We can film Hannah's session this week! It might be longer until we post it, but we are happy to do that! Abis piano lesson, too! 😉😊🎶🎵❤🎤🎹
I really love that you guys don’t try to redirect them away from stimming, making sounds, etc. I love seeing all of their little, unique quirks & things that they enjoy. Plus.. I’ve seen so many parents/caregivers fight special needs kiddos (& even adults) over things that seem so silly, like making little sounds, singing/humming, repeating, rocking, etc. It has always made me sad to see. Anyways! Love y’all! Thanks for sharing this adorable music therapy session😊❤️
Hahaha, that’s how I’ve always felt! I’ve been a caregiver for almost 15 years & it feels like such a waste of time/energy/happiness to try to stop those kinds of things lol.
My day was going so poorly but seeing this upload has brought me endless joy. I love seeing the growth and progress of these amazing people! They inspire me.
I’m typing this as I’m watching Obed play the drums. I’ve been watching the channel for years and I am just in awe and so proud of him to see him progress! I am smiling so big for him. Great job buddy! 💜💞🤍
Thank you Zoe for allowing Karen to film your sessions. Obed, you did an amazing job and should be so proud of yourself. I know 100% that you will be saying words left, right and center. 🥁🥁🥁🎸 I would also love to see Hannah's voice lesson, if possible. 👩🏻🎤🎤🎶 💛💚💙🤍🤎🧡💜
I am watching and I love how Zoey has come so far with obed and I love how she just uses her finger on obeds arm to get him to work on the drums. She has come so far with all the kids. You all are teaching me a lot to help people like the 6 blind kids in my community when they need help. Thank you so much six blind kids and keep on teaching me more and their technology equipment skills. As I am learning disabled myself and i use glasses to see as I started having vision problems back in the fourth grade. I understand the frustration and upsets and i see the music therapy improving the kids life.
This is just amazing !! We have something in the uk called see and learn and I know you can get a version with Braille to, I have been using it at the school I work at for non verbal autistic children and two of my students are starting to say words !!! The work obed is doing here is fantastic can’t wait to see him progress, thanks for the video 🥰
It is SO AWESOME to see all the good that is coming out of music therapy for the kids. Jesse and Obed have both been exciting to watch their response with music therapy. I know all of the kids get good out of it, but with Jesse and Obed being more difficult to read to us out here, the videos showing Jesse and Obed have been SO awesome!!! Thanks for sharing! Have a magnificent week🥰
Thank you, Heidi! I am so glad you enjoy these! We want to share Jesse and Obed in a positive way. I agree these sessions do help people see how they learn and how responsive they actually are! I also hope in some way they help alleviate fears about being around them. It happens...😉😊❤❤❤
How awesome to see Obed respond to the music. I'm a believer that music touches the soul of everyone. When your feeling down, music can just lift you up and when your happy it just moves you more. Thanks for sharing
Kudos to Obed!!! 🗣🥁🪘🎸That was pretty amazing! It seems like he and Jessie have progressed leaps and bounds during this past home school year with Miss Zoey and all the stimulating activities and instruments you have provided for them at home. You can see he has the will and determination too! What an amazing kid!! ❤️🌺🤗
Ohhhh my goodness I've been offline for seems like forever! This made my heart melt watching Obed...I know he's mommas big boy and I bet you are beyond the moon! We only get to a little (which every minute we love), but I'm sure you are beaming from ear to ear everyday seeing his growth! ❤
Miss Zoe is a treasure. She is so attuned to each client, and is so patient. Obed would make a great beat boxer! He sounds better than a lot of them on the pop music station I occasionally listen to.
I want to just mention just how music therapy has helped Jesse and obed so much and obed gets so excited and gets into his drums and Jesse loves loves to be sung to. I see so much improvement in the kids life and it makes me so happy that when you have children that are blind and can't do things like Jesse and obed you can adapt for them. I want to also say How Hannah and Bethany make great helpful sisters and support them. I have two half siblings who barely got along with me growing up but seeing the 6 blind kids oh my gosh it changes my focus so much and takes my mind off my own problems. You all have put inspiration into my heart just last March last year on the 13th 2020 I lost my step grandpa and I have been devesated by his loss and he always supported me with everything of my own impairments of disabilities and I have adopted you all into my life thru RUclips ♥ and I wait to watch my adopted family everyday

What a sweet video of Obed. I can tell he has a lot to say and is really trying. Zoe is so great with the kids, and has such a beautiful voice. My 2 year old calmed down and fell asleep right away during his nap time, listening to her sing. Your story about the kids knowing what everyone is eating or whom is in the room does amaze me. It reminds me of my dad telling me that I could hear a candy wrapper being opened from the other side of the house, yet I always used the excuse that I didn't hear him when it came to other things.
Excellent! It is becoming more and more mainstream. This is the one therapy I would never give up! Not sure if you saw Jesse's full session around Christmas time...you guys might enjoy that, too. Jesse has been doing it longer and is more....shall we say...vocal! LOL! 😉😄❤🎵🎶
Shalum beautiful family!🙋🏾♀️💖 Long time no see; Mr. Obed is getting some rhythm, get it kiddo. ☺️ He will surely be speaking before next year, to YAHUAH be the glory!
I could be wrong but I felt like obed was trying Really hard to sing along for the most part. And wasn't really interested in answering the questions and maybe she was misunderstanding that. And I don't mean this in a negative way at all. It was so sweet really. I just wish she didn't move on Everytime if he was really just trying to sing along because he seemed to really enjoy it. I'm sure it takes a little time for the music lady to understand her clients and obed is new to her. She is such a wonderful person though and I think all children would benifit from music therapy really. I wish my child could of done something like this when he was a little younger. I know he would of a absolutely loved it.
I have wondered the same thing, but I think she uses various songs to elicit different responses. This will be a good question for Zoe when we do a sit down at some point. She does keep things moving! ☺😊❤
it's so cool watching obed drum to the rhythm all by himself. music therapy must be the most rewarding job on the planet, watching these kiddos express themselves through song.
Very interesting, good vlog content thanks. Its intriguing to watch his right hand making motions super similar to Zoe's left hand as she plays the guitar. I havent noticed that he makes that same finger flutter motion when he is just hanging out but we don't always see his hand, I will watch closer tho. Just interesting if thats a learned motion in relation to the guitar and music therapy or if he got that naturally. She is really good at what she does...all her different but consistent prompts to get the movement or speech that she is working for....she gets it. Ultimate respect for Ms. Zoe, wow. Makes me wonder how much of her talent comes naturally and how can we get a thousand more of her educated and passionate just the same. Now, I would have guessed that music therapy would be a mental workout for Obed but it was so much more, so many senses, a physical workout, mental & verbal, she gets the whole package coming out. Even just that she knows he isnt a fan of her face shield. Am sure that really changes her sound. Also it totally makes sense why Dad is learning the guitar it just brings a different interaction on another level. Very cool.
This is truly beautiful. It’s amazing to see how much they’ve all been developing with the music therapy. Thank you for sharing their journey with us and bringing smiles to our faces. You have an amazing family. 💕
Wow!!! What great effort and concentration from Obed. It is so good that you found the right person to work so well and really connect with Obed and Jessie. ❤❤🌻🌻
I just love Zoe!!! God bless her beautiful soul for all she does with her kind spirit and kind voice for so many children! Mist be so fun watching so many children do amazing things from her music therapy! I would love to see her have a channel!!
I am currently studying with a classical musician who is currently my piano teacher. I am in a mentoring program at music school and I am learning about music education and music performance. I am doing music as a profession and I am also doing performance as well. My mentor thought I was shifting to the performance major. I told her that I really want to become a music teacher and she said that she’s going to do all the research and also talk to my teachers. I just interviewed one of my piano teachers today and I was asking him questions about music education. I also had an interview with a person that is going into music education. He is receiving his masters degree at the moment and that was just a trial interview. I will also be speaking to my voice teacher and I do Study with a classical voice teacher. It is wonderful to see a full music therapy session as well.
You can tell Obed and Jesse understand a little bit of what's going on, certainly more than they express. Also, the music therapist has a beautiful voice.
I love how Obed gets into his music! Such an amazing and handsome young man! I cracked up when he said the music was all done😂 All of your children are so intelligent and such beautiful souls. They are truly a gift, thank you for sharing them with us! I look forward to your posts, they bring a smile to my face!
ECHOLOCATION: Human echolocation describes the ability of humans to detect objects in their environments by sensing reflected sound waves from those objects. Human echolocation is similar in principle to active sonar and to the echolocation employed by some animal species, including bats and dolphins. This ability is also used by some blind persons to navigate independently within a variety of environments by actively creating sounds (snapping the fingers, making clicking sounds with the mouth and tongue) and then interpreting the sound waves as they are reflected from nearby objects. A person trained to navigate by echolocation can accurately identify the location - and sometimes size - of nearby objects and use this information to travel independently in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments. An interesting fact: Echolocation used to be called “facial vision” because it was believed that blind persons were somehow able to “see” and perceive objects by absorbing information through a special “mystical” facial sense. Now, of course, professionals realize that such perception is a function of hearing and, by extension, echolocation. :)
I host home a special needs young lady whos 27 shes non verbal and on both sides of the spectrum. She loves music, she understands very well. I keep praying one day she will speak.
I look forward to seeing Abi in every video! She's a sweetheart and the progress she is making on the piano fills my heart with so much joy! (no wonder Joy is her middle name)
Another great video!! Can never get enough of obeds smile and enthusiasm! And the therapist is SO sweet and gifted! It’s so cool to see how she interacts and adapts to each of their individual needs and and interests. Such a cool thing to watch! 😊

Great job Obed, keep up the good work 👍 ❤
it's so cool watching obed drum to the rhythm all by himself. music therapy must be the most rewarding job on the planet, watching these kiddos express themselves through song.
obed is learning a lot glad you find her she is a god senti need obed in my life he keeps me going
Obed has great rythem
The power of music!!! 🙌
I saw Obed playing lots of air guitar. And it was great to hear his voice.
I’m always amazed by how much the music therapy can help. Miss Zoey is amazing and Obed is incredible! I think this is the most I’ve heard him talk!
Keep going Obed! You can do anything you want to, it’s cool to hear your voice! Music therapy is POWERFUL!🙌❤️

Well done Obed he sat through the whole session
Great work Obed! Miss Zoe is brilliant.
