Wow, despite all the bad weather you are making great progress Paul, really admire your determination and hard work, it will pay off once all connected and working. Be lovely next summer, cheers and great stuff. 👍
Hi Paul, amazing this great job you are doing, a great job with arranging the pipes. I like your videos and channel dedicated to ponds and Koi carp, I saw you from my friend Chris, I signed up, I love learning about this topic and passion.
Glad to see you bk looks like had bad time with that clay looking great I got lucky digging mine just soil till hit sand stone just over 5 half foot deep so called it a day look forward to nx video takecare mate
Great video Paul been there done that ...that clays hard work i took 28 tonne out of mine 😖😖😖 but you'll soon be there ..just keep thinking of all them beers you'll be supping watching the fish when it's done ...happy days soon be there stay safe 🌈🌈🌈 looking forward to the next installment
thanks Ian, been off work today but non stop rain, had to make 5 runs to diy store to build up supplies, so i didnt feel the day was wasted..as i writing this the rain is pounding the window....Come back sunshine ..thanks for watching buddy

Cheers for the reply. I'm toying with a similar construction for my own pond. I built a pond at my parents and did a completely solid base, which was a lot of work!
@@PaulsKoipond its to hide my drum and shower as I don't like it on show plus I already have an office/man cave and a workshop plus two shipping containers in my small half acre garden.....a man can have too many sheds.....trust me I cant find anything as I have to go on a hunt for tools just to do a 5 min job 🤣
Yes mate..weather has been terrible this week too...not much done on inside pond but lots of trips to DIY store to build up supplies ready for when i can continue...thanks for watching my friend
@@PaulsKoipond I agree. When building my pond recording the youtube stuff helped the pain. Only koi pond people can appreciate the work (and thought) that goes in to making a pond yourself.
Man you have wet water table at how many feet? Make a small DIY well also friend so you can use water for long water changes and constant flow through. 🥳🥳
Our garden is on a slight slope..we have full clay at 18 inches deep so water soaks down to the clay which acts as a barrier..small stream 2 roads away takes it away...wet in winter but dry in summer
Nice! I just did this to my pond
Thanks mate
Another step closer. Well done, bet you're glad that's done. Looking very good. Cheers.

What make is the bottom drain please
Not the best materials to work with Clay 😆
I’ve got all this to look forward to when I start my new build
bought mine on ebay..just type this in and search......Aerated Bottom Drain 4" inch Bottom Drain manufactured in solid PVC pipe
Hi,
Hope you don't mind me asking, but how thick are the pond wall foundations?
Probably about double the width of the wall itself....nice and deep though probably about 18 inches or so
If you look at my video "massive mistake on koi pond " you can see how thick the front footings are
