00:06 Magnetic effect of electric current is an important chapter
02:14 The lecture focuses on the magnetic effect of electric current.
06:07 The magnetic field of lines forms a closed loop from North to South and is attracted to magnets.
08:21 Magnetic field lines determine the strength of the magnetic field.
12:56 Magnetic field is generated when electric current passes through a conductor.
15:12 The right hand thumb rule helps determine the direction of the magnetic field created by current passing through a wire.
19:49 The direction of current determines the direction of the magnetic field.
22:05 Remember the direction of current in a battery is from the negative terminal of nickel.
26:07 The magnetic field is coming out of it
28:09 Determine the polarity of a ring by observing the direction of the current flow
31:54 Passing current through multiple rings creates a magnetic field.
33:55 An electromagnet is created by passing current through a wire wrapped around an iron nail.
39:13 Magnetic field is produced inside a wire when a current passes through it
41:47 The direction of the external magnetic field determines the direction of current.
46:47 The direction of the force is downward inside the magnetic field.
48:41 The direction of the magnetic field is determined by the direction of the current.
52:18 The red wire and live wire are part of the electrical current flow.
54:28 Earthing is a process to transfer current leakage into the ground.
58:40 Short circuit and overloading are common problems caused by excessive flow of current.
1:00:20 discusses the magnetic effect of electric current.
1:04:22 Power loss and voltage change are key aspects of the magnetic effect of electric current.
1:07:11 The magnetic effect of electric current in terms of power loss and transmission
1:11:33 The video covers the topic of magnetic effect of electric current.

In the definition of flemings left hand rule there is a mistake in the last line

Fleming's left-hand rule states that when the thumb, forefinger, and middle finger of the left hand are stretched out to be perpendicular to each other, the thumb points in the direction of the force acting on a conductor: ----:
    # Forefinger: Points in the direction of the magnetic field
    # Middle finger: Points in the direction of the electric current
    # Thumb: Points in the direction of the force acting on the conductor

You have to use Fleming's left hand rule where if the index finger points the direction magnetic field and middle finger points the direction of current then the thumb will point in the direction of force acting on the conductor

    • @VidushaDhawan
      @VidushaDhawan 9 месяцев назад +4

In hw question force is in upward direction and the magnetic field is in outward direction as those dots are representing outward direction
Then the direction of current is towards left as your middle finger is pointing in left

Wastage/ Loss of power in AC transmission in long distances is low and cost of transmission is low as compared to DC because ohmic resistors cause much loss of current during passing of current
Using rectifiers,AC can be changed into DC
It can be changed into desired voltage using transformers
It is stout and do not need much maintenance
Using crude oil , it's efficiency can be increased

Fun fact that nobody asked- *Magnetic monopoles can exist*
I recently came to know this by my friend
In our everyday experience, magnets always have two poles: a north pole and a south pole. If you cut a bar magnet in half, you don’t get a separate north pole and south pole. Instead, each piece has its own north and south pole.
However, in *particle physics*, a magnetic monopole is a hypothetical elementary particle that is an isolated magnet with only one magnetic pole. This means it would either be a north pole without a south pole or vice versa. A magnetic monopole would have a net north or south "magnetic charge".
The concept of magnetic monopoles arises from the symmetry in Maxwell’s equations and the concept of gauge symmetry. Despite extensive searches, there is no known experimental or observational evidence that magnetic monopoles exist. Some theories, notably the grand unified and superstring theories, predict their existence.
The quantum theory of magnetic charge started with a paper by the physicist Paul Dirac in 1931. In this paper, Dirac showed that if any magnetic monopoles exist in the universe, then all electric charge in the universe must be quantized. The electric charge is, in fact, quantized, which is consistent with (but does not prove) the existence of monopoles.
