I was at this park with 5 others, we'd all split off from each other in the second half of the day so we could see what we wanted to. I eventually get to this, and randomly line up essentially right behind one of my friends, so neither of us knew what this would be. As soon as dracula dropped from the roof, we knew this was the highlight of our day.
It’s been nearly 4 years since my other half and I saw this show at Universal Studios Japan, but we just cannot stop saying “I love Osaka!” like Frankenstein’s Monster does at 27:48 😂
I absolutely love how he refers to himself as "Oira" (a very arrogant way of referring to oneself) and the audience "Omae" (a rude way of saying "you"). 😂 And yeah, I went to that show in person this summer - it was really awesome.
It's been 20+ years since I saw this show at Universal Studios HOLLYWOOD! Here in Hollywood it was called "Beetlejuice's Rockin' Graveyard Review" and was about 80% similar to this version. Seeing this vid brought back such a rush of memories. I saw this show dozens of times here in the states. It was replaced by the ill fated "Creature From the Black Lagoon: The Musical", which was so awful I felt sorry for the performers. So many people walked out during that show it was embarassing. Still, although the Beetlejuice is almost cringingly corny, I have great memories of seeing it with friends and family, some of whom are no longer with us.
Most of the audience does not understand English. However, in a theme park, a show sung in English by an American is more valuable than a show sung in Japanese by a Japanese.
The stage of this show would be perfect for a Bill and Ted show or academy of villains here in universal Orlando Edit: that last sentence aged horribly
