Weymouth Armed Forces Veterans Parade & Military Convoy. Sunday 18th June 2017.

Today We went down to Weymouth for the Armed Forces Veterans Parade and Military Convoy which is one of the main events of the Weymouth & Portland Armed Forces Celebrations Week, which runs from Saturday 17th-Friday 23rd June 2017. This is the 3rd time i have Filmed this event.....We missed the last 3 Years due to Ill Health. What an absolutely super Day for the Parade with Wall to Wall Sunshine and Temperatures in the mid 20's. I have aimed to cover as much of the event as possible....apologies to anybody or groups i missed during the
Filming.. I felt this Years Veterans Parade to be a bit shorter than in previous Years, this may be due to lessening numbers who can attend. Great to see so many proudly marching along the Esplanade... But i wasn't disappointed with the Military Convoy....it never fails to impress, and well worth coming down for even if it was just to hear the Tank !!! Sorry about the shaky clip when the Tank was going across the Beach...but i inadvertantly turned the OIS (Optical Image Stabiliser) OFF..I do this from time to time !! Hope it doesn't spoil the clip for You.... At the end We see a group of Motorbikes from the Royal British Legion Bikers....great to see them all...and i met up with some of them later at the Ice Cream kiosk....!!

Thanks so much our Bob....So glad We made the effort to go down....Really enjoyed it...The 3 Years i missed seem such a long time ago...Previous ones were always taken on the old X800....so a good test for the 920.....Yes...same Wall as before but OK as in the shade a lot of the time....The worst thing was the amount of very selfish people with their Mobile Phones getting right in front of the approaching Parade just to get their shots.....oblivious to everyone else....How i didn't shout at anybody is a miracle...hee hee... Apparently Andrei Tupolev was near by...but i never saw Him.. Thanks again for the cracking comments.....Best wishes....Steve.-:)

Well filmed Steve,your best yet from Weymouth I feel.It was a great turn out and the heat must have been an ordeal for manynof those oldest men,but they did'nt show it .a great spectacle,well recorded. Geoff
