I would like to reply to my own comment with the fact that less than a full week after this comment, I was watching one of the mcfly livestreams on mta and Danny started singing Don't Forget Where You Belong and my brain just stalled out. I was like wait what 😳

Busted are uk trio band they're mates with McFly & McFly opened for them back in the day. Jonas brothers covered busted's song year 3000 & a lot of Americans think it's the Jonas brothers song.
Tom actually co wrote Year 3000 too. Busted & McFly have written songs together and also few years back created the super group McBusted(only 2 busted members joined) & they opened for one direction too. Which is where I finally got to see "McFly" live in Sydney. Tom & Danny have written couple 1d songs they defs give off McFly vibes it's on like first couple 1d albums.

You probably know the Jonas Brothers’ cover of Year 3000. It’s originally from Busted.
Definitely no bad blood between the two groups, they formed a supergroup called mcbusted not long after the RAH performances and did an album and tour :)
McBusted started at RAH.
Funny thing is Tom is listed on google as a member of Busted even though he was officially on it for less than 24 hours, but they are really close and Tom wrote a lot of their songs so I guess he is the secret member of Busted hahahah

Busted and McFly are close friends, Tom Fletcher wrote many songs with them, including Year 3000 (which is originally a Busted song). Tom also wrote songs for the Vamps and 5SOS.

I’m not sure where you heard that from but it’s definitely not true. Matt and James got drunk one night, watched back to the future, and then wrote year 3000. This was before Charlie was even in the band and before they had even auditioned him or Tom. Charlie didn’t have much input on the first Busted album because it was mostly already written when he joined the band, and Tom didn’t have any input until Air Hostess and Crashed The Wedding for the second album while him and James were also writing for Mcfly’s first album.

Its really cool seeing you discover McFly like this. You have so much to see from these guys. Theyve evolved massively in 15 years and can do pretty much anything musically, but what sets them apart is their connection to eachother. You can feel it in everything they do. I say start from the beginning and see their evolution through time. Once you've sampled some busted there's also McBusted for you to delve into. Really enjoying your journey here keep it up bro!
he mentioned what each one did while the band was apart (this show was a special celebration for the 10 year anniversary)
- Tom and Dougie wrote a book for children called "the dinossaur that pooped a planet". that turned into a series of the same dinossaur pooping all sorts of things lol. till this day Tom is writing new books, last year he even was featured in mcdonalds happy meal.
- Dougie won this show called "im a celebrity, get me out of here!" where a bunch of famous ppl go to the woods and have to eat nasty things as trials. fun fact: tom's wife just won the current season. Dougie also wrote a book called "plastic sucks", he's really into animals and everything regarding saving the planet.
- Harry won "Strictly Come Dancing", a reality show similar to "dancing with the stars". his latest project away from mcfly was a book called "Get Fit, Get Happy", he really likes exercises
- Danny was a contestant on "Popstar to Opera Star". He's the only one who released solo music: a 5-song EP called EP 😂 one of the songs featured in their new album is actually from that time. You should react to his songs, they're pretty good.

I can't believe you're reacting to this, I didn't see it coming, I love them so much but there're the most popular in the UK, maybe react to their documentary All About Us, it's long (50 minutes) but worth watching if you want to get to know them
He’s actually authored some kids books (some with dougie) and I think are making them into stage shows so you can tell how good they’re going to be!
It makes sense that you like Tom and your favourite 1D song is 'I want'. He wrote it. Pretty sure there is a video of him on here singing it.

I first learned about McFly when they played themselves in the 2006 Rom-Com "Just My Luck" with Chris Pine and Lindsay Lohan. I had no idea they were a real band until the credits rolled, but I loved their music so you bet I searched for their music.

They brought out a doco last week which is interesting & you found out a lot of crazy behind the scenes about the band. It's like 42mins long is defs watch it. It's called McFly All About Us.

They made their american debut in the movie "Just My Luck" with Lindsay Lohan in 2006, they played themself as supporting roles, a british band called mcfly discovered by Chris Pine character, you shoul give it a look.
Also Tom was in Busted and so was Harry (the drummer) but it was all in good fun, they're all still friends and actually did McBusted a while ago
This were a series of concerts they did back in 2013 for their 10th anniversary as a band. They even were streamed online, it was pretty cool. And in fact, this was the time they performed live with Matt Willis and James Bourne from Busted, and McBusted was born.
Ahhhh as a Canadian fan since 2007 the ten year anniversary concert was the first one I was ever able to attend. The memories 😭😭
Mcfly and Busted are friends in 2013 they formed together to create McBusted which they done for 2 years! Also you should check out ‘The Heart Never Lies’ by Mcfly they have also just released a new album which charted at Number 2 in UK!

Busted biggest songs are Year 3000 (not actually a Jonas Brother song they just covered, I know a lot of people think that), Air Hostess and What I go to School For. Just found this channel from going back to my mcfly days and it's already my favourite reaction to watch, most people stick to the one type of music they love so it's amazing to see someone stretch and listen to everything, for real music lovers, love from the UK 💜
Just so you know Tom drags Busted but they are good friends, since the beginning when Tom was kicked off Busted they kept writing songs together, a lot of Busted songs are Tom's and in 2013 they went on tour together and released an album as McBusted! McFly and Busted are a happy family

Dougie, (bass), went into rehab, then succumbed again, and had to go through it all again. Harry, (drums), won what you call, "Dancing with the Stars". Danny, (guitar & rock vocals), was on a show called, "Rock Star to Opera Star", and one of the judges was Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen. Dougie was in, "I'm A Celebrity..." , a reality show where celebrities get dumped in the Australian jungle and are left to survive on their wits. They have to do tasks, such, "eating ostrich anus", to win meals for camp. Dougie won. Tom doesn't include his appearance on, "The Cube", where he was the highest prize winner for charity, until an Olympian beat him.

He was a part of busted for a couple days. But he was still involved as the label wanted Tom to work with James ( of busted) to write songs
A year or so later, Tom went to another audition to film the audition for the label. That’s where Danny came in, it was not the right audition for Danny as they were looking for a boy band and Danny sang bitter sweet symphony, but it peaked toms interest and he knew right then, Danny was just what he was looking for.
V was that band and Tom wrote “Chills in the evening “ you can also find on RUclips where Tom is singing that as well
During lockdown, Niall joined Tom and Danny (and Olly murs/James arthur) to do a cover of Shine A Light from McFly. Think you would def like that as well.

My all time favorite band
I'm pretty sure McFly broke The Beatles' record in the UK for no.1s or something. I remember seeing them celebrate. Tom is great but it is definitely worth looking into the other guys too because they are such a family of a band. I've really appreciated how upfront they've been about mental health etc.. Like Tom jokes about losing weight but he genuinely struggled with an eating disorder before getting diagnosed I think with bipolar/manic depression, but they sort of owned any issues they had and embraced them so now they can talk about it like this. The bonds between them are one of the things that really drew me to them when I was younger. Also- Tom's sister Carrie Fletcher (one of the OG youtubers) is now a star of the West End in musicals. Harry -the drummer- went on Strictly Come Dancing and won it, Dougie -the bassist- went on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and won too in the same year- hence the reality show reference. And I think Danny -other guitarist and lead vocals- did a show of pop star to opera star. It was a fun time. McFly is worth the dive in to- they were proper cornerstone Brit pop and sort of prepped the ground for 1D in that way- they also helped The Vamps get started who have become another big band. They were one of the first to be a 'boy band' that wrote and played all their own stuff from day 1.
Tom wrote Irresistible, Don't Forget Where You Belong, I Want and I Would for One Direction, probably more and for Busted he co-wrote big hits like Year 3000, Crashed The Wedding and a lot of their first album!

Busted were a band with 3 guys that were around the same time as McFly and they actually formed McBusted a few years ago and played at some one direction shows!
McFly is like Royalty in the UK. best part is unlike 1D for instance they became friends first before they became famous. They used to live together, then moved to houses all next to each other or opposite. Busted and McFly shade is only banter, they are actually good friends and McFly ended up being bigger anyway. They got together for a couple of years for a double UK wide tour after forming McBusted. Worth noting James (Busted) had co- written many McFly songs alongside Tom and Danny. I discovered them in 2004 when they were in the movie Just my Luck. (Where Harry is rumoured to have slept with Lindsey Lohan) which is still jokingly teased and never actually revealed

You actually reacted to Busted's "Meet You There" already and really enjoyed it! There is no bad blood as the bands are close friends, but Tom made a joke about "the one with the eyebrow condition" Charlie because the two of them auditioned at the same time but ultimately only Charlie was chosen for the band. And then Charlie was the one who broke up Busted by leaving. But they are now reunited lol.
That Green Day comparison us interesting because Tom's a big fan. There's a really old photo from when they met at the Brits. Tom's talked about it in interviews.
