Pie was my late husbands very favorite. In fact, one year when money was really tight, I wrapped up a pie plate for Christmas with a promissory note that I would bake him a pie every month for the year. He said that was his best present ever. I am actually making a meat and vegetable pie for supper tonight. I keep out two slices and then wrap the balance of the slices in and put them in the freezer. Then I just pull out a slice when I feel like for lunch or supper. Thanks for sharing your pie. Apple is my favorite fruit pie and I just love my peeler as well. Mix some cinnamon and sugar together and take those strings of peels, mix in the sugar mixture, lay out on parchment paper and bake until they are browned and crisp. Yum. Y'all have a Blessed day.

I make a two crust chicken pie with chicken, potatoes, carrots, peas and onions. We serve it with brown gravy. My mum called it a dry pie. We also used to make a cheese and onion pie, it was usually for Saturday tea with a salad on the side. You're hands remind me of my Mums, always busy, moving confidently to create the most beautiful food for us. ❤🥧

Oh Megan thank you for a month of joy! Please include some savory meat pies like Cornish Pasties, Shepherd’s Pie (lamb) or Cottage Pie (Beef), and Argentine chicken or ground beef (with green olives and raisins) or cheese Empanadas, Indian Samosas made vegetarian, or East African ground beef Samosas with peas and potatoes and hot peppers. As you can tell, I love savory pies! I also love Pecan pies and lemon meringue pies! And CHOCOLATE pie! I’m starving now!

Here in Europe we do lots of different pies…..my favourite ones are those with little hidden treasure in them ( they used to have little metal ornaments earlier, I use larger almonds or coins) and the one who finds it in their bowl is the king or queen for the day!! You could try that. The great British bakeoff has an entire episode dedicated to pies every year, you can call yours a pie season too lol! Thanks for the lovely videos, we love you here in England!

If you ask someone to get you a pie in Australia, you would be handed a minced beef pie. We do love our savory pies and we have a lot. Tuna pies are good and basically just a thick mornay cooked in a pie crust. Another good pie is a "Bushranger" also known a "Ned Kelly" pie, which is the normal minced meat (beef) in gravy with a whole egg and sliced tomato between the meat and top crust.

Have you thought about a traditional southern "Chess Pie"? In West Tennesse, no holiday table or church potluck is complete without one! it is an egg custard style pie - variations include a chocolate version, & it is similar to Buttermilk Pie. Also, two of my other favorites are "Walnut Pie" - less sweet than Pecan, but very flavor rich & hearty, and "Cheeseburger Pie" - made with the appropriate ingredients!

Just found you when looking for a good pumpkin pie recipe….it’s cool today and I’m doing two large chickens in the instant pot for canning chicken and chicken broth ….a large amount of chicken thighs I’m making into BBQ chicken to can.
I’ve dehydrated hamburger and vac sealed that for future Shepard’s pie…Do you have a good recipe for that?
I’m making a graham cracker crust, wish I had bought the ginger snaps I looked at in the store. I fill it with pumpkin and top it with cinnamon crunch crumbles. I need to practice crust again, I use to do six pies a week and was good at using my food processor to mix it .
There’s savory pies so yes any thing in a pie pan is a pie right lol.
I always made green tomato apple pie with my mother in law. We put it in a cookie sheet…..soooo good and no one knew there were green tomatoes in it.
At the Dollar store they sell rubber shelf covering that is non slip and works great for sliding boards….
