i used to work with the guy who original got it back in Denmark. Tommy is his name. top man. it's nice to see it still lives on. A little side note, Give Sværgods payed for the first 3 longliners in cash at the scania dealer in denmark, and they were so impressed that they wanted 7 more, but by that time scania had stopped the production of the longliner.
Morning Campbell the longline is a fabulous looking truck and a great tribute to your grandad. The lads in the workshop did an amazing job on it. You should definitely go and have a look at the other one and see if its worth getting and putting back on the road, could you imagine 2 longline's side by side
Thanks for taking the time to explain everything to us non truckers, what a beautiful machine. It's a credit to you all, u should be so proud. Cheers, Poth.
Love it Campbell nice tribute to your grandfather. I just hope you can find the other one and bring it back to where it belongs with its sister. Hope to have a good look at someday.
Well done to your workshop team Campbell. That is a lovely sim pathetic refurbishment of a 4 series and the modern updates suit it well. I remember seeing it with its former owners on the windfarms. It now way better under your care. And a very fitting tribute to your grandfather
Really enjoyed the Longline story ..always good to hear when a Truck is saved and given its fresh look.. Maybe a Video /Story on how the Mcfadyen company started and what was the first vehicle and how the wind turbine transport came about especially for a company in such a rural setting..
Had the pleasure of seeing it up close & personal at Truckfest Scotland & what a beauty she is, your grandad will be proud of you all the hard work & dedication put in by all is remarkable, if anyone is going to Drifter Style show be sure to go see it & have a chat with Campbell he’s a top class guy & down to earth 🏴🏴
Good morning Campbell, what an amazing lorry you have there. Would be nice for you to have the other one as well the lorry looks better now than when new it's a great credit to all the team
Morning Campbell great to see you back on the channel what a beautiful truck and a great tribute to your grandfather Charlie he will be looking down on you with such pride 🙏🫶🫶🙏👍
Fae a fellow scotsman, thats braw!!!!!! Greaat Video Campbell, I love the tribute to your grandad and its amazing to see your keeping the family tradition going strong!!!! keep it coming Bro!!!
Morning Campbell what one fantastic truck and great tribute to your grandad who laid the foundation down and your dad and uncles have grown into a top name in the transport industry 🥇
What a Cracking video the truck is looking Awesome it is a tribute to your grandfather 👴 Campbell do you make videos on moving the windmill if so can you show please thank you 👍👍👍
I used to meet yous on the road when i was with AAD Transport, used to drop at Loch Gilphead, then doon to Campbelle Toon, we trucked all over the country, really nice wagons drive👍
She is a stunner and a mighty tribute to your grandfather. It's a job well done 👏 I think if financially it was suitable, it might be an idea to chase down the other longline. She might not be as bad as you think. Don't worry about the scania anoraks. They usually get their ideas out of a book. It's your truck. You do what you want with it. Never mind the begrudgers. Did I see one off your trucks here in Ireland 🇮🇪 midlands with a van on a recovery trailer???. Until the next time, keep it safe and keep them coming. Tell us about the t-cab when you get a minute 👌🇮🇪
Beautiful truck. Since you asked what I would do differently, I would have the sofa convert into a bed for people like me who don't like bunks. However, that is just a personal choice, all in all it looks amazing. Edit: fixed a typo
What an absolutely amazing looking lorry, you and the team an outstanding job. Would be interesting to see the other longline how it has faired. A matching pair would be great
As an amateur and only a hobby guy who likes trucks this is obviously a priceless truck and as a 580Hp and is rated for a 150 tonnes imagine what it would be rated for as a 770HP in my mind 200 tonnes plus but would love to see this pulling near to max weight and seeing the extended cab inaction but great vlog boss and hopefully one day on my many trips to Scotland to see my brother and sister in law I might be lucky enough to meet you 😊😊😊
Lovely video Campbell, stunning truck and an original scania longline. Good content, you aren’t waffling on and repeating stuff like a lot of people do. Well done. Certainly do another one on the T cab and possibly different operations in the fleet.
Your grandfather will be proud as punch looking down at that beauty you did him proud I do hope you get the other longline and try to restore it then you can have you and your dad's picture on it now that would be amazing.
The near stock looking interior for a working truck in the wind turbine industry is a great idea. You would constantly need to strip off to get into it with some of the site you go to if it was a lighter colour.👍I hope to see it upclose some day🤞
another great video great insight to all the work bringing the longline up to McFadyen standard saw it at truckfest amazing looking truck great paintwork credit to you and your team look forward to more great videos about your trucks
Great video and a great, very Interesting story 👍 truck looks absolutely amazing inside and out, it's a great tribute to your grandad. I know my girlfriend Jo would love to see it upclose in person which got me thinking, would it be possible to arrange a visit sometime? Probably in the new year. We've both said we'd love to visit Campbeltown and make a wee holiday out of it and to come see it in person would be the icing on the cake
Love your Livery, the truck is awesome. Love your vids, just normal chatter without the BS, mind you having travelled through Scotland on holiday many times, your location is just superb, a bit out of the way. All the best from Lancashire
Brilliant video Campbell, you're getting very good at this presenting carry on. Stunning looking truck, would prefer the 4 series grill but totally agree with your reasons for changing it. Keep up the good work. 🤠
Cam. Absolute grand job. You've done. But you've got to get the other one. It would be a travisty to let it go. Another great video. From Russ in hillam North Yorkshire 👍👌😊
Just had a we peek online at these motors when give had them they looked a bit rough round the edges even for working motors. You boys made a cracking job of the restoration motor looks mint 👌🏻 well done
awrite mt,saw yer big rig wae 2 big buddy,s pullin 3 blades under blue light convoy at night after joining a76 ,was late for work, but worth it,impressive setup,bn hgv 25 year, saw some nice convoys, but tha was the best👍
Beautiful truck absolutely gorgeous you must be so proud to have it in your family and can we please please see some videos on the heavy haulage side 🙏 🎉🎉
I remember when they were both in Nakskov in Denmark in about 2002-2005 when I drove a heavy goods escort car, for Vestas, just before they were going on a trip, (reportedly to Australia), we drove wind turbine blades to Germany.
As far as I know the Longline was never meant for the US market (given that Scania left the US truck market in 1992 and never returned). The 2 8x4/4 were ordered by the Give Bosses (Carsten and Finn Hansen) and they put their names on the roof. All other Longlines also were ordered from People in Europe, given why Scania (with Laxa) only made 25 of them. Other than that, it looks really good in your colors :)
Awesome video Mate.. very informative... any chance of another one sometime in the future of it working at the coalface with trailer and load in tow ? Cheers...
what a machine! it looks grand, but as you said it struck a good balance between a showtruck and a working beast 👌 if I may ask, why did you decide to leave certain trim pieces in plastic (such as the mirrors, the fairing around the ladder and cabin suspension are (not sure what to call it lol))? I'm guessing it has something to do with possible paint damage while out on the road?
I personally love the interior looks OEM ++, very clean! Only thing I'd have done different is the spce under the counter top is just hed space and only having the fridge sunken in seems like a waste of good space! Another cupboard for a microwave etc would've looked really good
@@campbellmcfadyen that makes a lot of sense ahaha! That's why they're in the interior trade and I just give opinions on RUclips ahahahah! Have a good one drive🤟🏻
You should still look at getting the other one its never to far gone if you have the faith, imagine have the only two trucks in the world, enjoyed the video
Should definitely try and get her sister, restore it, regardless of condition.. would be something special to have 2of2

Looks brilliant especially the airbrushed art work! Would be class if McFadyens could track and restore the other longline one day
I think the choices you made were spot on. The artwork is phenominal and the whole truck shows the pride your company has in its heritage.
What a stunning wagon. Thank you for the upload.

Spot on job, and the interior is mint, so much better than those awful lampshades. Was like a confession box. I drove it for a week at Give.
