Yo, MrsFritzl here from the QJs 22 hand. Good vid, Ben. Few thoughts on our hand. Flop is a range check in these positions. Vs small bet is easy check-call. 2 pair on turn I could have some leads but also easy check-call. I knew my range looked weak and the tank was designed to sell that. Not considering ever folding or raising! River is mandatory check-raise and I almost got you ;) I liked how you played it. When I checked it on a sim, your small pocket pairs that barrel the turn are bluffing river at a high frequency for about 60% pot. You have to bluff with a heart because you don’t get to the river with your non-heart small pocket pairs, so pocket pairs with a heart are right at the bottom of your range and still unblock tonnes of my folds. Aside, I do think 50nl on stars plays quite aggro pre flop and when you combine that with the rake, I don’t think advocating flatting pre is the best idea. NH, GG, WP!
Like the way you played the hand. On the flop I agree check calling is the high frequency play here from your perspective. I don't see Ben ever stabbing the flop with a hand that beats you for 33% pot, I'd automatically discount two-pair plus hands from his range like QT/T7s/77. On the turn however he can have hands that improve like A9s/A8s and AJ/KJ which tried to fold out your smaller pairs on the flop, versus this range your I like your check call. On the river I'd be keen to understand your play if a heart peeled and Ben decided to bomb the river :)
@@Sam_Ho check-raise all in obv :) seriously, if he goes like 65-100% on a heart river QJ is probably a sigh call and weakest bluff catch would be something like KJ/KT with a heart. If he over bets, think I’m just bluff catching KJ/KT with a heart and folding top 2
41 minutes - when you talk about the 3 bet range out of the big blind it is so interesting! I can see to apply this concept in live poker to certain player types. Their 3 betting range in general is 1-2% (JJ+/AK and sometimes just QQ+) so just going bonkers with aces sounds good.
anything up to 5 cent is micros. Anything around 10cent,20 cent up to 50 cent is lowstakes. 50 Cent to Nl200 games are mistakes NL500 and higher is considered highstakes.
@raise your edge this is a great video! Can you do one of these at each stakes in the same format? Would love to see it as you do zoom 200 and 500 and then higher stakes cash games. Thanks!
In the hand 33 bb vs bu where u x/r ott big, why would you go so big, when u say villain doesnt have any good hands in that line? Is that because go the same big sizing with value and bluffs and u want to be balanced? Can we get away with a smaller raise size with the value so we give him a chance to continue when he is very often drawing dead or very thin?
on the Q9o hand 2:23 its a very VERY tricky spot single raised BvB spot i think with your exact combo it should go bigger on the turn, because i feel like going that small not only gives a good price for vilan to draw out but also exposes us to some unnatural bluffs from villan which as we know is both good and bad. regardless i really love that hand and appreciate you line and discussion... i was also wondering about the thought process behind checking flop in position there?

Hey Ben. When you are speaking about your opponents online i notice you default to saying "he". Wouldnt using gender neutral pronouns be a bit better in these videos? Love the content and appreciate these vids!
@@RaiseYourEdge Fair enough. Sometimes the small things can make poker seem more inclusive. It can seem like a bit of a boys club when you refer to every player as a man. I'm only making the suggestion because I want more people to feel included in poker
@@ainsleydawes8047 The fight to include, by necessity excludes others. The argument you are trying to have is changing to normal english lexicon to refer to a random human or a group of humans as 'mankind or men'. It has been around for centuries, and although I do not have an opinion on whether this is good or bad, I do however think this is not the venue to try and change it. Not that the attempt is offensive, just that it lacks a certain understanding and comes off as if you are trying to control what another person says. Comes off as a bit douchey and ignorant.

Agree on the flatting pre with the rake. I am not too familiar with the rake structure so thanks for bringing that up.

Kann natürlich in Deutschland sein, ich kenn mich da nicht so gut mit der Rakestruktur aus. Da kann ich leider nix zu sagen.
This is fantastic and informative. Thank you!
thanks for the video! isn't nl50 still considered "micros", not even small stakes, let alone "midstakes" like the title?

@@RaiseYourEdge Says who
@@CheddarmanGeo It is not a written rule, but it is a common opinion. Saying NL50 micro stakes is definitely something I hear for the first time
Micro stakes is the very lowest stakes, then low stakes then mid stakes. If NL50 is micro then what is NL2/NL5??
when did you meet Viffer?

Yes, because we also want to bluff a lot. And in case he has a potcontrolled Qx hand or picked up draw, then we need to put in a lot of money.

Hi Ben, thanks for the nice explanation 👍 how many bb per 100 hands are good on nl50 for a semi professional cashgame player?

Thanks man. No not really, I am not supporting this gender insanity. I respect all gender but this is going too far. We have other problems than this.
