We used each other for help in our BMT female flight in Lackland. If we had a girl that knew how to shine the black boots with a shiny toe, she did all the boots. If one knew how to put the shirts in tight squares then she did that. We passed all inspections! We had a male T.I. with two other male SSgt's; therefore, they weren't in our space a majority of the time. As the Dorm Chief he requested that I assist a lot. They used the loud speaker system for us sometimes and they must have caught on and whoever was the expert at an item, failed their inspection on that item. It was hilarious! but not at that moment :) Glad you showed pictures to them.
Dude this was great. I'm in the process of enlisting in the Air National Guard (and have been since January), but there have been a few bumps in the road. As frustrating as it is to wait, it gives me time to get a head start on things like this. Thank you, sir, for making these videos. You just earned yourself another subscriber. God bless you, man.
About 10 years ago, while preparing to move to my new home, I was going through old papers, when I ran across a couple of old, old ATC (now, I guess, AETC) form 341s dated May 1972 edition (went to BMT 5/31/73) with ny name and serial # already fillled in! I framed the little suckers. FYI: a "341" is the small "Dscrepancy Report" USAF form that, if a superior felt like it, would write you up on small infractions. You had to keep two folded in your breast pocket at all times while in any uniform, and turn used ones in to your boss while you were in training (BMT or Tech School) status.
Thank you for posting, this video helped out alot, I'm trying to get used to organizing now because I'm enlisting soon and will be shipping out in June 2016 to Air Force BMT.
They got rid of the white star when I came in in 1977. It look like a blue dot with wings. But we had the 100% cotton fatigues in those days and they were very comfortable in summer & winter until they switched to the polyester which I didn't like. Retired in 1997 and never wore those new cami's which were the tiger stripe version cami's they used in Vietnam.
I have feeling that I'll be picked to be dorm chief 1. I'm 29 2. I have a college degree (-_-) Oh God why! Note: You should do a video with all the abbreviations that you use in the videos, sometimes is kind of confusing. haha
Yeah, i know. I did BMT at Lackland. I did SP tech school. I did USAFA Prep School and USAFA basic. Folding underwear into little squares is pointless. Teaching more marksmanship and physical training make sense. You can tell if someone is following orders, without making it ridiculous.
djlolypop Hey, yes you can take a notebook or pen and paper with you. As with sizing- well they give you what they think fits you lol. You don't really have a choice :/ even if you know your clothes are baggy as all hell, they'll give you what they think looks right. You might luck up and get someone with a good eye, orrrr not lol.
got another question for ya- so,I do security at sea world and I noticed some trainees on Saturdays walking around with their rank already on and some without. my question is, how would I be able to get my rank on my uniform before graduation? I have a bachelor's degree and I am planning on enlisting, coming in as an E-3 (GPA too low for officer). Is there some point where I would take my uniform somewhere, like the cleaners, where they would sew it on? sorry for the long ass post lol
+MrWhitipino Hey! So those without rank are simply Airman Basics. If you are an E-3, then you'll sew on your ranks at the cleaners before graduation weekend
Zoe Cruz Lol its a good question. "Flushed" means to be even with something. So your hat and flashlight have to be even with the edge of the shelf. Got it? :P And I got a 77 overall
Punisher6710 for basic, there is no weapon qualifying requirement to gradate. You will be required to know nomenclature for the M-16, but you will not have to shoot a minimum score to graduate
+Lorene Meier You have one pair of boots that you wear everyday, and one pair you never wear. The second pair is kept clean and only worn during your graduation weekend. Then once you're active duty, you'll typically throw away your old BMT boots and wear the newer ones
Emotator ABUS are pretty simple.. They just have to be washed normally like regular clothes. If they get overly stained or ripped then you'll have to replace them. Note: They get stained and ripped a lot, but as long as you can get the stain out most of the way, or sew up holes, you're usually good. And you'll have to trim any loose strings and keep your patches and rank up to date by removing old ones and sewing new ones on.
Thanks for the tips! i bought a pair of used ABU pants from a surplus dealer wich were in very good condition wich i intend to have as normal everyday use.
+albert “albertp0728” panara The MTIs will typically pick 1. The oldest person, 2. Someone with a college degree or 3. Someone who has had leadership experience outside of the military

this was such a good video!! thanks for this
Do they still have the "Red-Line" & "Blue-Line" inspections?
I have feeling that I'll be picked to be dorm chief
1. I'm 29
2. I have a college degree
(-_-) Oh God why!
Note: You should do a video with all the abbreviations that you use in the videos, sometimes is kind of confusing. haha
So did you?
Yeah, did you get selected?
Shut up chowrunner
Where do you store your chest rigs like camelbak
great memories

+Joseph Davis Folding underpants into six in squares make great memories.
+Ronnie McGill
The concept is to see if you can listen and follow
instructions, and I have many great memories...
BASIC AND OTHER ASSIGNMENTS.
And I didn't even mention rope school. Anyhow, there are more efficient ways of training someone. The AF cut out a lot of that nonsense.
I respect your point of view, Brother.
Haha my Mom just yelled at me for folding my pants without the seams lining up!
Are you able to take notes with you to BMT? I know what size blues fits best, including wind breaker due to AFJROTC and Civil Air Patrol
djlolypop Hey, yes you can take a notebook or pen and paper with you. As with sizing- well they give you what they think fits you lol. Could i bring my laptop to bmt evem though it will be confiscated but i will atleast have it during tech school. Its super important to have it then
I think some places have a separate rifle locker, next to the main lockers
You have really good advice and tips man I appreciate it ! I'll give back by liking and subbing. I ship March 3rd, can't wait.
Awesome! Thank you, I shipped in March too, let me know if you have any questions about BMT!
I ship March 3rd as well
Good luck to both of you!
Soldiers?
its called a service coat , and light weight blue jacket
I'm guessing you can buy containers at BX?

+WildBlueYonder thanks for clearing that up. really appreciate your willingness to help us bruh
No problem!
this is kind of a dumb question but it's serious, what do you mean by "flushed"? and if you don't mind sharing, what did you score on your ASVAB?
Zoe Cruz Lol its a good question. "Flushed" means to be even with something. So your hat and flashlight have to be even with the edge of the shelf. Got it? :P
And I got a 77 overall
For women pants and skirt it 2 a piece on these the shirts is 2 a piece for short and long.
Does the Air Force qualify with M4s now or do they just do weapons familiarization
Punisher6710 for basic, there is no weapon qualifying requirement to gradate. You will be required to know nomenclature for the M-16, but you will not have to shoot a minimum score to graduate
when did you go through bmt..? i feel like i saw you before in lackland
25 March- Late May
Tight and loose boots? Please explain why you have 2 pair of boots at BMT.
+Lorene Meier You have one pair of boots that you wear everyday, and one pair you never wear. The second pair is kept clean and only worn during your graduation weekend. Then once you're active duty, you'll typically throw away your old BMT boots and wear the newer ones
Thank you,Wild Blue Yonder!
no problem!
Asvab score requirement for Security Forces?
It's in the 30s
how about the acu and bules belts?
What do you mean? How are they displayed?
Do you need to use the wire hangers or can I send my son wood hangers?
+lmark6213 Hangers are provided at BMT for the trainees and you can not use your own hangers
You can't send him anything. Let him be independent
Other than letters *
What does it take or how long does it take to be able to move into a house of you are a single dependent
+Trevor1997IN You won't be able to move out of the dorms until you make senior airman
+WildBlueYonder but If Im married? That means I won't be able to bring my wife stateside?
If you're married stateside, then you will be either issued a house or given money to live off base
Can you give some tips how to take care of those ABU,s ? cleanin etc..
How do the ABU,s hold up against the elements? thanks man, peace
Emotator You don't have to dry clean them or iron them, but you dry clean them in BMT and some people choose to do it after Basic
Thanks for the tips! i bought a pair of used ABU pants from a surplus dealer wich were in very good condition wich i intend to have as normal everyday use.
what do you have to do to become a dorm chief or element leader
+albert “albertp0728” panara The MTIs will typically pick 1. The oldest person, 2. Someone with a college degree or 3. Someone who has had leadership experience outside of the military
okay thanks
So I'm in trouble if I get to go. I'll be 24, 2 degrees, and 4 years AFJROTC. In addition to the fact that I'm applying for a commission as I go. ='D
Good practice at least. I wouldn't want a CO who cant even run a dorm lol

Same way i fold shit in JROTC. Cool.
