Whoa wait a minute. The issue with cattle according to the climate change side is flatulence according to their own documents. Bison fart just like cattle, so how can bison farts not be a issue? According to estimates there were 8-10 million bison on the prairies before settlement, we have at most 1million cattle in the US at any given time. The numbers just don't work when you look at the cold hard facts. If flatulence was a issue wouldn't the 8-10 million bison have caused damage to the ozone exponentially more than the current cattle herd? Water quality issues have been dealt with for the last 20yrs thru grants from the USDA to exclude cattle from rivers, creeks and other susceptible drainage with fencing.

There are many contributors to the atmosphere. When we had millions of bison, we had no automobiles at all. We also had more forest land. You cannot draw valid conclusions about the atmosphere by considering only one contributor.
