I believe you are supposed to use the lower class plus the upper class over 2.

Isn’t the midpoint supposed to be lower class plus’s upper class divided by 2 so like 1+10/2?

Depends on the book. some books use (LCL + UCL)/2 as you indicated while others use (LCL + Next LCL)/2. The first formula is an algebraic one that works best for spreadsheets.
