  • Hey everyone, it's been a long time since my last video and I can't believe that we hit
10.000 Subscribers!!! I am very grateful to every single person who made the choice to subscribe to my channel and by that support my work. It upsets me that I wasn't active in making new videos for almost a year now and I hope that things will change in that regard. Once again thank you a lot and I wish health and all the best to all you you ;-). In this video I will tell you a short tale of how
the witcher 3 inspired me to read books.

    SPOILERS
The thing I love about the Witcher novels is that they approach the fantasy genre from a very unique angle. The series features so many tropes some consider it unoriginal but the way they are approached makes it stand out even 30 years after it was written.
Most major event plays out in a way that almost make fun of the tropes on which they are based. And the narration changes perspectives so much not only between characters but also between moments in time some people feel like the plot loses it's focus but it gives us this insight into how the events we see were later remembered, misunderstood and twisted by time. How legends grew around mundane struggles and stupid mistakes (like the destruction of a castle by Lodge). Then there is the way the series taps into the Arthurian mythos and disenchants that the same way it did with the fairy tales in the short story collection.
I don't want to get too much into the details since I don't know if you have finished the series.

I'm currently reading the last book and I think you described it perfectly what makes the books so unique among other fantasy novels
