The one thing that feels a little worse to me is the ambience in the forest, the 2023 example you showed looks like a proper forest, the greeenery blends into eachother and theres a light mist that makes you feel like youre in a real space. The current footage looks more varied and detailed but theres like no ambient oclusion, at least at the start of the video, so you can more easily see were every asset begins and ends, it feels like a very well don videogame forest, were the 2023 example looks like a fotorealistic, almost documentary like recording. Besides that the game looks fucking incredible tho
To be fair animations based on something fictional tend to start out rough to gauge in what direction they should be refined. You can’t just mocap them like human body movements and there isn’t the real world reference to go off of beyond basic body structure dynamics.

game looks decent. player sounds is brutal. simplest little movement sounds like they are going through 10 bushes in tarkov. 200 into this video to 220 is a perfect example. i could not play this game listening to that every time a teammate turned, walked etc
The gameplay loop of this game is insanely thrilling, its hella engaging, how the game weigh in players decision. a mix genre akin to STALKER with the envrionmental hazards as anomalies, Tarkov, and the PvEvPvP of L4D Versus or Evolve. We eating great 👏
If you were to show me this game, i would genuinely think its another STALKER Anomaly mod pack. Its very surreal, seeing games of that genre being (essentially) replicated, with different game play formats. I really dont know how to feel about it!

they probably had to tone down the lighting and ambient effects for the performace... it's very unoptimized rn, so the gameplay test would suffer for that..

@RamenStyle the desync could be caused by your 400 ping. You possibly didn't experience it last year because you were lucky and/or the network code has also changed.

looks like a mix between Tarkov (or Arena ) for the gunplay, Stalker for the monsters, and Insurgency or SCP 5K for the tacticality
