Recorded by Frank in 1956, 20 years after Cole Porter wrote it in '36 (not '39). One of Frank's very best--that intro is a outstanding, killer hook you can't resist once you hear it!
I've got you under my skin I've got you, deep in the heart of me So deep in my heart that you're really a part of me I've got you under my skin I'd tried so, not to give in I said to myself this affair never will go so well But why should I try to resist when baby I know so well I've got you under my skin I'd sacrifice anything come what might For the sake of having you near In spite of a warning voice that comes in the night And repeats, repeats in my ear Don't you know, little fool You never can win Use your mentality Wake up to reality But each time that I do just the thought of you Makes me stop before I begin 'Cause I've got you under my skin I would sacrifice anything come what might For the sake of having you near In spite of a warning voice that comes in the night And repeats how it yells in my ear Don't you know, little fool You never can win Why not use your mentality Step up, wake up to reality But each time I do just the thought of you Makes me stop just before I begin 'Cause I've got you under my skin Yes, I've got you under my skin
I've listened to a hell of a lot of singers in my 71 years and nobody has come close to Sinatra, and I'm a big R&R guy. He was a gift from God to us. What's he recorded, like 1000 songs? He may have had some trouble in his personal life but man, you just can't get past that voice. People will be playing Sinatra records in 1000 years.
The best arranger of Frank's songs! This one is his finest, and could be the best-ever arrangement of a pop song!!! The arrangement itself could actually top Frank's outstanding singing which is a the top of his game!
1956. Sinatra wanted to record the Cole Porter song, but didn't give Nelson Riddle much time to arrange it. Riddle, among the best ever, finished the arrangement in the back seat of his car using a table leaf and a flashlight while his wife, Doreen, drove to the recording studio. Sinatra wanted a long interlude and, in the back seat, Riddle worked one in. In the studio, Sinatra loved what he was hearing, wanted the whole thing perfect, and kept ordering another take. On the 22nd take in the wee, wee hours of the morning, the trombones and strings lifted the crescendo higher and higher, and then exhausted trombone soloist Milt Bernhart exploded with all the energy he had left, and Sinatra nailed the final chorus. It was, perhaps, Sinatra's favorite recording. Sinatra later called that car ride, "Nelson Riddle's finest hour."
This is better than Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett's Bullcrap. Why did I start liking this song? *Batman: Arkham Knight led me to this beautiful masterpiece.*
Batman Arkham Knight and Joker 2019 movie have Frank Sinatra songs. It means that Frank is the best. Always been, always will be !😉

"Six months ago, The Joker was cremated. I pressed the button and burned the evil bastard myself."
As Joker is burning literally everyone is jamming to this!
With my whole heart full of love and devotion, I sing and dedicate this song to Barbra Eden, the world's most beautiful and gracious woman ever
he really was THE VOICE, as everyone called him,
for me it's the most beautiful interpretation of Sinatra
This is how it happened, this is how the batman died.
Poor joker
@@grimmjeager8166 if I'm not incinerated with this song I ain't dying
My hands down favourite. A Cole Porter composition, arranged by Nelson Riddle, and sung by Sinatra. What's not to love?
I've got you under my skin
I've got you, deep in the heart of me
So deep in my heart that you're really a part of me
I've got you under my skin
I'd tried so, not to give in
I said to myself this affair never will go so well
But why should I try to resist when baby I know so well
I've got you under my skin
I'd sacrifice anything come what might
For the sake of having you near
In spite of a warning voice that comes in the night
And repeats, repeats in my ear
Don't you know, little fool
You never can win
Use your mentality
Wake up to reality
But each time that I do just the thought of you
Makes me stop before I begin
'Cause I've got you under my skin
I would sacrifice anything come what might
For the sake of having you near
In spite of a warning voice that comes in the night
And repeats how it yells in my ear
Don't you know, little fool
You never can win
Why not use your mentality
Step up, wake up to reality
But each time I do just the thought of you
Makes me stop just before I begin
'Cause I've got you under my skin
Yes, I've got you under my skin
Best ever song from old blue eyes

arranged by the GREAT....Nelson Riddle.........his finest work. 100th birthday this week. June 1 , 1921. I could listen to this for hours on end

Goosebumps, man.

Blasting Sinatra one morning in the barn and the state vet stops to see who is singing , I might have turned purple and kept on singing !!

Intenté no rendirme
Me dije a mí mismo: Este romance no terminará bien
"¿Acaso no sabes, pequeño tonto?
"¿Acaso no sabes, pequeño tonto?

Like Dr. Wu by Steely Dan you think this song is about a love affair when it's really about addiciton.
Actually it's about a Broadway star's infatuation with a gullible sailor: Virginia Bruce and Jimmy Stewart in 'Born to Dance'.
