Love the part where Dante says “with an attitude like that, you’re never gonna meet your grandkids”. He has full confidence in Nero and his girlfriend getting to that base
In the aftermath of DMC4 Nero and Kyrie are sorta-running an orphanage and he occasionally hunts if any of the townsfolk spot demons nearby, so it makes sense that he'd assume Vergil came for some sort of help.
That's the best part about Nero. On the surface he's a bit of a hard headed dick, but underneath he's actually a nice person. Especially when Kyrie is involved. Then he just becomes a big ol' softie.
"A little Vergil, crying in the corner because Mommy got mad!" "I seem to recall YOU crying every time father raised his voice." "What would they think if they saw us now?" "What does it matter? We're still here, aren't we?" What an underrated exchange. Vergil's line acknowledges that after everything, all the history, all the fighting with demons, Sparda and Eva are gone, but Dante and Vergil are still surviving. And here they are in Hell, still fighting for their lives, this time as reluctant allies.
So true. I especially like that it highlights the difference in mindsets. Vergil has always thought actions are irrelevant to results. Whereas Dante has always thought results don’t matter if they weren’t done with the right actions. Dante reflects on what it took to embrace their family’s legacy/responsibility while Vergil calls it unimportant to just the fact that they finally embraced it. I love their dynamic.
This exchange seemed made up just to add to their character. However, seeing how I haven't bothered to read the dang comic's of this game. They might have added shit that is not even in the game.
True. But i kinda think it's more *because* Dante is his uncle that Nero seems to resemble Dante in style and attitude. The kids tend to like the 'cool uncle' in families.

I’m pretty sure Vergil thought about the fact that he lost his mother and if she was still alive she would have loved seeing her grandkids, it’s still a painful memory for him because he loved her that’s pretty much why he’s so obsessed with gaining power she died and he couldn’t save her, it’s part of his trauma

virgil's addittion should have included a campaign that tells you what happened to him after he broke free from mundus's control and showed how his rejection of his humanity basically rotted him as he searched for his sword and his transformation to urizen.
@@rubydancer4241 what you said makes no sense when his humanity, v, reuniting with him brought him back to full strength. His humaniy wasnt rotting, his imbalance and not accepting the two worlds he belongs to was rotting him after he was free from the control of mundus. He wanted more power to his own detriment. This is further proven by dante achieving greater strength by combining his demonhood and humanity where as virgil denied his humanity and dante didnt like his demon heritage. It was only they both accepted their lienage of humanity and demonhood, did both push past their limits
12 years old they were fighting .. im 23 now and they are still fighting with a dash of brotherly love .. they changed virtually nothing and I love it .
Lol got to love at how mad Vergil gets when Dante brings up grandkids, well Nero is at that age after all. Also kind of funny how Vergil who's rejected his human side for so long in the pursuit of power had a kid before Dante
I seriously hope that in DMC 6 Vergil will be a part of the main story, and in turn giving him access to some new weapons too while still wielding Beowulf and Mirage Edge.
15 years I've put into this series. Every new boss, weapon, red, blue, yellow orb, difficulty, frustration with said higher difficulties. All this time seeing the twin sons of Sparda finally finding common ground and fighting with eachother instead of just eachother really brings a tear to my eye
Dante bringing up grandkids should have made Vergil feel that a long time of life has passed for him, in that split second he must have recalled everything he did so far ignoring he had a family and it's already in the verge of expanding further. That must have been the trigger. Even Dante must have felt the same when he said that. Both are getting stronger and old too. It's only a matter of time before they settle down for good..
I'm thinking DMC6 will have Vergil as a full playable character from the get go with his own full story and levels. They'll have to fill the gap of a third character. And how great would it be to finally see the main 3 descendants of Sparda working together and interacting for a whole game
“Well, with an attitude like that, you’re never gonna meet your grandkids.” Ah....Uncle Dante Loves Kids. 😏😏😏 PS: Nice try Capcom. The sequel continues...

@@greatneos That's not how power works in Japanese Pop Culture like games and anime, the newer generation always surpasses the previous one, despite having more or less from the bloodline. I can see if Nero becomes as much op as the sparda twins or maybe even surpasses them one day but I don't see it though.
@@rubydancer4241 actually I think he cared quite a lot, but not about the environment, non humanity, not even his family, but yes about the lose and himself most of all. Not saying he just thought of being powerful for the sake of being strong. He lost his mother and blames himself for all eternity for being too weak and not being able to protect her nor his brother. It's quite of a burden to him since he's the older brother. The same happened to Nero. He couldn't protect Credo and blamed himself till forever because of that. Both of them lost "everything" because they were powerless, or felt like. The only difference is that Nero got help from Kyrie and Dante to get back on the right path, while Vergil was alone, by himself without no one to tell him that wasn't his fault nor his mother. He had the burden to feel powerless because even if he were almighty powerful he didn't had anything to protect, no one to defend. But now, he have Nero, Kyrie and Dante. He understands what really means to be powerful and what it really takes to be like this, or at least is on his way to realize it. And that's the most motivational thing Vergil could ever learn and do.
Cutscene Dante: You're like an open book! I can read your every moves! Gameplay Vergil: Saying that during the cutscene is easy. Try to say it during the gameplay, if you have courage.
Man, I could watch these two dorks bicker and banter all day. I love these little interactions between Dante and Vergil especially when they're talking about their family.
8:56 Like wtf. When your dad is literally a Legendary Dark Knight. The most powerful DEMON alive who can obliterate everything when he goes mad... You know you fucked up.
Vergil laughed so many times in DMC 5, he changed his personality, reverted to being himself and the Vergil older brother Dante knew when they were kids.
During the campaign for Vergil am I the only that feels they missed a cool chance to let us explore the family home? It would given us some new material and Easter eggs to find.
honestly if dmc 6 should be the last installment , it should just be about finding the truth behind sparda's disappearance so dante and vergil would look for him in the deepest of hell , meanwhile nero handling mundus return and destruction of the world as he promised to dante before , and everything unravels it would just be a fine ending for me a logical one since mundus left a promise to dante and sparda's death mystery still unknown
It kinda messes with the story sequence though. After Dante and Vergil rush at each other with their SDTs, they should be stopped by Nero, not carry on the fight. Even after the fight, Dante jumped off like it was when Vergil was defeated Speaking of Nero, why the hell does the SE not make Vergil fight against Nero?
This is the version of "Vergil won the duel and nero came slightly late" So of course it became more edgier, but for all we know, the canon ending could possibly be Dante's/Nero's ending
Someone said in another video, of how they yhink this is Vergil's perspective on the end, being more serious and portraying himself as retaining his past stricter demeanor while the base game is the overall or Dante's perspective seeing Vergil final mellowed out and not so crazy about power as he used to be and playing along with his antics.
@@ZerothMask I like the idea that Dante perceives it as fun and games with his brother, but Vergil perceives it as him being pestered by his brother, but begrudgingly accepting it. It’s cute in a way.
The gameplay of this version is different, obviously vergil never played the game through dante's shoes, but the game also shows some new cutscenes which are canon to the game - all of Vergil and Dante's additional dialogue is canon, even if the second phase of their fight is not (see: Vergil refers to losing to Nero, it's possible a Nero fight was planned but they scrapped it and added a first/second phase to the Dante fight instead)
I love that in the scenes with only Dante and Vergil in hell, Dante becomes even more childe like then before in DMC 5 at least. You can feel just how much he wants to annoy Vergil most likely in some ways to draw out his humanity. And in turn it actually works with Vergil taunting him back although a bit harsher but still in a humorus way. Love their dinamick and I hope for a DMC 6 soon.
While I do love the little jab at each other about their parents, I...actually don't like this ending compared to the original. I dunno, in the original DMCV ending it felt like Vergil was finally opening up and starting to relax around Dante. They're still fighting, but it felt more like sparring and that there was hope they could get along again someday. Here it feels like Vergil is back to being hostile towards Dante and that they'll continue to get in each other's way. Maybe I'm just into redemption archs, but I prefer the original because it gives us some hope that Vergil could change his ways and one day join forces with Dante and Nero instead of against them.
I look forward to seeing where vergils story goes next. Theres so much already told about him and so much more to still tell. V literally is the embodiment of what vergil has resented...feared...hated..and loved eversince that fateful day. Vergil and dante are 2 sides of the same coin, one brother embraces his humanity but neglects his demon side while the other is the polar opposites. "If you want to test a man give him power."

I'm having a hard time deciding whether or not these two actually hate each other or if this is just their way of showing that they do care.
It is their way of showing they care.
A bit of both
They never hate each other, that just how they show their love
they don’t hate each other, it’s just fun for them
a competitive game in a way
Dante loves his brother but he still has hard feelings since dmc3, Vergil however has hard feelings from when they were kids and when he thought their mother left him and saved Dante.
Even with Hell's legion of demons, they're no match for these two.. but forever doomed to fight for all eternity. Demm I love these characters...
Nah...they can come out when ever they want.
Yeah. Im pretty sure yamato can get them out of there, they're just bonding for now like any siblings would by fighting each other and trash talking
Against all the evil that hell can muster. All the wickedness mankind can produce, we will send unto them. Only. You. Rip and tear. Until it is done.
Hell doesn’t even stand a chance against Dante let alone both sons of sparda. They’re gonna wipe the floor with every demon
I think they stayed in Hell to make sure no other Demon takes the throne and tries to invade Earth.
virgil's addittion should have included a campaign that tells you what happened to him after he broke free from mundus's control and showed how his rejection of his humanity basically rotted him as he searched for his sword and his transformation to urizen.
I can’t imagine a nice grandpa Vergil with kids. Neither can he.
Who else wants a full redemption arc for Vergil in the next game and seeing him side by side with Dante and Nero?
He is the storm that is Approaching.

Vergil deserved his own campaign through his POV from taking Nero’s arm to splitting himself into V and urizen. Would’ve been interesting

4:57 i guess Vergil really want to see his grandchildren eh
Lol got to love at how mad Vergil gets when Dante brings up grandkids, well Nero is at that age after all. Also kind of funny how Vergil who's rejected his human side for so long in the pursuit of power had a kid before Dante
Ending of their fight on the top of the tree now looks very weird
You're right It feels that something is missing
Just ignore that and skip to the new scenes.
It's technically the bottom of the tree right?
It's because the original scene was done in-game while the one in Vergil's story was done in CGI.
Just gonna casually skip over Nero kicking Vergil's ass before taking a nose-dive into Hell.
And how great would it be to finally see the main 3 descendants of Sparda working together and interacting for a whole game
man, that Nero cut from the Dante VS Vergil into starting “Bury the Light deep within” was smooth
“Well, with an attitude like that, you’re never gonna meet your grandkids.”

And now im MOTIVATED!!!

I'm more interested in Vergil and Dante in the Underworld than kids. No thanks. 🤣
if vergil had a grandkid he/she would be less of a demon, so lady would be it's perfect mentor.
@@greatneos That's not how power works in Japanese Pop Culture like games and anime, the newer generation always surpasses the previous one, despite having more or less from the bloodline. I can see if Nero becomes as much op as the sparda twins or maybe even surpasses them one day but I don't see it though.
Weird when he doesn't show Urizen and V cutscenes, since they both are part of vergil...
These are all the cutscenes from Vergil's Campaign mode.

@@Shirrako please do!
I love how vergil transitioned from bad to good.
5:12 that slow bury the light hits different
Cutscene Dante: You're like an open book! I can read your every moves!
Gameplay Vergil: Saying that during the cutscene is easy. Try to say it during the gameplay, if you have courage.
My gosh, I just realized! This video is almost the exact same length as Bury the Light! XD
Don't understand why Nero thinks they can't come back. Vergil still has the Yamato
He never said he didn't. Plus, Vergil did say he would be back after giving Nero the poetry book.

On the rare occasion that Dante and Vergil actually work together, they make a seriously kickass team.
Man seeing Vergil tear off his son's arm through *his* perspective is downright creepy.
Man, I could watch these two dorks bicker and banter all day. I love these little interactions between Dante and Vergil especially when they're talking about their family.

4:06 vergil's smile T-T
Vergil laughed so many times in DMC 5, he changed his personality, reverted to being himself and the Vergil older brother Dante knew when they were kids.
Nothing like a little brotherly bonding ^^
4:57 I love how Vergil grits his lips the instant Dante mentions the grandkids. Even his voice tells it
During the campaign for Vergil am I the only that feels they missed a cool chance to let us explore the family home? It would given us some new material and Easter eggs to find.
4:45 is so heart touching for me..
Honestly... I just want more cutscenes between the two. Id pay for it if it were DLC
I like how this version makes it look like Dante's just like "fuck this I'm out" at the end for a few seconds
The fact that Lady got her weapons lost and Dante claiming them for himself is hilarious
5:25 Not gonna lie i went emotional over this line once for the amount of things both brothers and the rivalry went in DMC
Vergil needs his own damn game already.
honestly if dmc 6 should be the last installment , it should just be about finding the truth behind sparda's disappearance so dante and vergil would look for him in the deepest of hell , meanwhile nero handling mundus return and destruction of the world as he promised to dante before , and everything unravels it would just be a fine ending for me a logical one since mundus left a promise to dante and sparda's death mystery still unknown
Now we need Mundes to return and a triple team up also with an end with Vergil holding his grandson in his arms
Dmc 6!
DMC6 - The Adventures of Caretaker Nero and Dementia Dante. Wheelchair into demons WITH STYLE
I'm very satisfied with this closure about dante and vergil.
Legend has it to this day, those two continue to fight the demons through time in the bowels of the underworld
4:05 he finally defeated his twin brother
Technically not. They're just even.
Vergil has beaten Dante before, in 2 Games actually (DmC 1 and 3)
I love the sibling rivalry
But they have each other’s backs
5:05 bros before foes😢
Even in his weak state, Vergil still got it.
The good thing about this ending is that we get to see more sibling banter since dmc 3
Vergil is just fucking fantastic....always my favorite
I love how the special edition has extra cutscenes and gameplay
It kinda messes with the story sequence though. After Dante and Vergil rush at each other with their SDTs, they should be stopped by Nero, not carry on the fight. Even after the fight, Dante jumped off like it was when Vergil was defeated
Speaking of Nero, why the hell does the SE not make Vergil fight against Nero?
@@iam4026 It's just dev laziness I suppose..
Nero should have been the final boss just for the reason that it felt really weird that he's just suddenly there after the 2nd Dante fight
Okay so what happened to the casual talk "so all we gotta do is cut this tree down?" with Dante? Is that not considered canon?
This is the version of "Vergil won the duel and nero came slightly late" So of course it became more edgier, but for all we know, the canon ending could possibly be Dante's/Nero's ending
Someone said in another video, of how they yhink this is Vergil's perspective on the end, being more serious and portraying himself as retaining his past stricter demeanor while the base game is the overall or Dante's perspective seeing Vergil final mellowed out and not so crazy about power as he used to be and playing along with his antics.
SE is non canon
And thus their rivalry to the death had to be put on permanent stalemate as they were seen battling demons in that place 'till the end of time.
So many years and they have finally settled things. If only they understood each others thoughts and feelings sooner.
Maybe...
But we got Bury the light.

Me: Vergil, describe Dante in one word for me.
Vergil: Baka
Me: I was hoping you wouldn't say that.
