In Season 9, it’s 1961 and life is good for Will (Tom Brittney) and Geordie (Robson Green). The families are always together, from Sunday lunches to planning summer holidays and with honorary grandparents Mrs. C and Jack, and adopted uncles Daniel and Leonard, it’s one big happy family! But when Will is approached with a life-changing offer, can he leave Grantchester, and Geordie behind?
Rishi Nair joins the cast as Reverend Alphy Kottaram, a character with an instinctive distrust for authority and absolutely no desire to get involved in murder investigations. But Alphy and Geordie will discover they have a lot more in common than they first think, and Alphy will find that in Grantchester, murder is never far away. - Развлечения
Oh wow, he’s very handsome!
Yes indeed he is😍
From Sami in Hollyoaks to Reverend Alphy, way to go Rishi👏🏼👏🏼
Desi vicar in grantchester?? Finally!! I can start rewatching the show again!!
The new vicar is sure a looker.
Oh wow. His eyes. They are captivating.
I legit said Goddamn! Out loud. New Vicar look GOOD
Really looking forward to new Season. Would like to find the field where the actors come from. I am 79,just an old woman’s fantasy. LOL
I'm 73 and they've all been lookers I've only seen this will be the third one
I'm 73 and they've all been lookers I've only seen this will be the third one
I’m with, but I’m only 70!
Have been watching since season 1 ... so glad they kept the inspector and family... and most of the origanal crew..
Yes we must except change... doesnt mean we have to like it.
it'll probaby only stop when robson green decides to pack it in
i find it amusing,
that the bishop always sends a vicar from the "Chippendales" division of the church ..lol
seriously though , it's a good time in will's story arc to leave i suppose.. the new guy already seems interesting .. im looking forward to the new season ..
The new one will have me down on my knees in a heartbeat... to pray of course!
Of course 😅😊
😮
😂
Wow, I can't wait!! I love this series.
I can't wait to see the new season!
Excellent. Cannot wait.
theres going to be something between miss scott and larry you can just tell
Astonishing luck to have THREE vicars in a row who are sleuths! 😆
Clearly Grantchester attracts a certain type of vicar 😅
This looks incredible! I especially love teenage rebellion!
well esme is certainly shaping up to be a lippy little madam so thats the rebellion bit in a nutshell
Damn ❤
Oh my
Well, he’s cute. No bearing on his abilities as clergy or detective. And his ability to bring viewership cah-ching is obvious.
Yippee!🎉❤
Nice..can't wait
i always pictured the show ending with geordie retiring as a copper and will quitting being a vicar with his last job being officiating esme's wedding seeing as she's coming of age so quickly but now they're bringing in this new guy i can put that theory to bed
All depends on his chemistry with Robson.
I'm so ready for a new vicar and storyline. I love all the supporting cast and their journeys, but the storylines for the vicar have been tedious. Ready for new blood.
Ok, I'm ready!
This will be good to watch ⌚️.
The only problem with the music in the background is that it actually makes it quite hard to hear what the characters are saying.
Activate the subtitles. Or. Just watch the series.
i reckon will will probably leave in episode 2 like sidney in series 4 episode 2
Wow. That’s the actor from the British soap opera hollyakes( sorry if I’m not spelling it correctly).
Hollyoaks. And yes. It is.
Ummm, I didn’t know it was possible for the vicar to get even better looking 👀 😏
Yipee!!! 😂❤🔥
Yea!
Yes he’s handsome, Esme
Ooh, the new one are you, very nice
How do i watch this in India? Does anyone have any idea which OTT platform it'll be available for the Indian audience?
get a vpn, watch anything, anywhere in the world!
Wow
If the scripts don’t get better it’s over.
Can't wait for the new series, new vicar looks fab! Disappointed, but let's face it not unexpected, to see some of the comments. Clearly a lot of ignorance about the history of Britain and the commonwealth. A South Asian vicar is entirely fitting with this time period and, judging by the trailer, the actor clearly got the role on merit.
South asian vicars were not usually wandering around English country villages in the mid 20th century. If it was modern day ok but not in an old time period. Woke alphabet equal opportunities people pushing their agenda. You go to India and cast a white person in a Bollywood film role that is meant to be for an Indian and there would be uproar.
@@lepolhart3242you do realize this isn't a documentary, right, just a television show. Most vicars don't help solve crimes but you are okay with that.
Sami from Hollyoaks and now a Vicar lol
Y'all they keep uppijg the ante on looks for the vicars.....
i think esme is going to be the new joan thursday from endeavour in other words wanting to stand on her own two feet all the time and with the way she asked about the new vicar being handsome
The #HotPriest trend continues…#HotVicar
HELLO 😊
i guess theyll probably show this on masterpiece first this year then on itv the next year which is a bit annoying seeing as grantchester was made in the uk
We waited an age for season 8 ….. I’m guessing it’ll be the same for season 9 in the UK….. incredibly frustrating 😖 I never thought I’d get over Sydney leaving but Will worked out so well! Will miss him though
i know what you mean ive seen what the new storylines are and while they sound good i feel they would be more interesting with will still in the show
June 16, 2024.
I am not Gay. I swear.I am questioning my sexuality now.
This show is over for me!
😂 Why? The new vicar is 🥵
@@taraz6786 Why do you think? The user has as their avatar a guy who was so virulently racist towards South Asians that he even shocked his own white peers of the era.
If his skin colour is the reason people won't watch, they're probably not bothered about losing bigoted viewers.
The show is becoming woke for woke's sake. Stick in the fork. This show is done.
@@acharletta 😂 There were brown people in history, especially in the UK you weirdo. 🙄
No more James Norton? Not interested anymore
He hasn't been in it for years
An Asian vicar in 1950s England? Really? DEI strikes again.
And your comment in 2024? Bigotry strikes again🤷♂
@@garuda70 It’s not bigotry to state that this is not historically accurate. How many Asian vicars were there in 1950s England?
I loved james snd Tom. I am sick to see them go, and they’re replacement is not what I expected at all. I don’t like him, and Lord, he is not handsome.
He is definitely handsome.
This Diversity nonsense has gone too far
How's that?
How long have you hated brown people?
Here we go again. Another show injected with diversity quotas. And before anyone comes at me, I'm a South Asian living in South Asia. I enjoy British TV shows (even though DVDs cost a small fortune with the current exchange rates). But this forced diversity is awful and frankly tiresome.
yeah you've hit the nail on the head with that one
@@peterburke3944Nothing to do with diversity, he’s extremely attractive and already an established actor. Go be a bitter old hag somewhere else. 😂
Thank you for stating the obvious.
But there are people of that background who lived in the UK during that time. It's actually reflective of history. I think it's curious that people think the placement of such characters is about a diversity quota. Perhaps people should look into that time period and educate themselves.
It's sad to see this colonial inferiority mindset being perpetrated by South Asians themselves. You seem to think it's impossible for a British-South Asian actor to have gotten this gig on his own merits. Is it not possible that, in an instance of colour-blind casting, he simply turned in the best audition? There were certainly Anglican clergymen of his ethnicity in the UK during the time period portrayed, so it's not even ahistorical.
Woke yet again!
What an imbecilic comment 😂
This is not a documentary but I find it interesting you don't find the premise of a crime solving vicar outrageous until you don't like the color of his skin.
