Glenda, just a suggestion. Some of the more basic beginners might find it easier to place a stitch marker in the middle of the 3 stitch corners. It is a little more work, but easier than having to rip your work out and do it all over again, which can get very frustrating.

Hi my name is racey I think you are good at expleni your work it makes it much easy for me to sui my abbilty do you have new doll pattrones comeing the all the time will this fit a doll
She says that she uses category 2, sport weight yarn. So if you use category 1, fine yarn, and a slightly smaller hook (she uses 3.25 mm, so you can maybe use 2.75 mm), then you will be able to achieve a smaller size dress just following the pattern for the newborn size. I hope this helps!
