I just used method 2 and it is fixed. I searched "regedit" to open registry editor. I changed the value from 3 to 1 and clicked OK. I restarted and I am fixed. Thanks TechBee!
This worked like a charm with the second method. Also after reinstalling a fresh set of drivers and a system restart. I saved this video for a future refresh in case I run into this senario again. Thanks so much!
I still can't fix mine since I can't see the run to open the run command box after keyboard appearing on the screen it doesn't give me that option of run

Fix 2 worked for me. The onscreen keyboard wouldn't work to enter the "regedit" command or to enter the value of 1 in the registry, so I sent myself an email with the necessary text then copied and pasted where needed. Keyboard works perfectly now. Thanks!

Just had this issue after plugging a removable hard disk on Windows 10. Changing USB ports and changing keyboard did not solve my issue. Luckily I found this guide and your second method worked like a charm! Many thanks, pal! You saved me because I have a lot of work to do with PC :)

If your keyboard just stopped while you were typing on a PC, I suggest you try this first. This video is very helpful, but BEFORE you worry about messing with installing (or reinstalling) drivers, I would STRONGLY SUGGEST you try the EASY WAY FIRST....1) right-click on the taskbar (usually kept at bottom of the screen, showing different program icons you use) 2) after you right-click, you will see a new menu pop up. 3) Check this menu, find the "Lock the Task Bar" item. If there is a checkmark there, you simply click on this item again to remove the checkmark. 4) Your keyboard should react immediately and be available to type on. - I learned this the hard way. Hope it helps and saves time for someone else out there!

I've been trying to fix my keyboard for HOURSSS and NONE of these fixes were working for me.. not even the Fn+ windows button "fix." I FINALLY figured it out and it was REALLY simple.. If you guys have a gaming keyboard, or probably even a regular keyboard with a key labeled "WinLK," click on that and try the windows key again.. I may have pressed the button by mistake and locked the "windows" key from working, and I think that’s a feature for gamers so that they dont accidentally hit the windows button mid-game.. hope this works for you guys that have tried everything else and didnt work
