Thanks! Yes, you are correct. If someone already knows libGDX, there is virtually no reason to switch. If someone knows JavaFX, FXGL is the straightforward option. If there is no previous knowledge of libGDX or JavaFX, then various arguments can be provided in favour of both with libGDX being quite a bit more mature. Also, I should mention that jMonkey3D is a very good option for 3D games.

What about performance? Is there any benchmark about memory usage, object creation and rendering times.

u should be able to use scala, just without explicit support so maybe programming to the fxgl apis might be awkward, idunno, i got no exp w scala
