I had never heard of Moses Sumney and didn't know what I was in for. He started playing this and my spirits immediately lifted - been keeping up with his music ever since :) Also when his set ended, he went right into the crowd as a fan of Hundred Waters. I got to thank him and shake his hand - very sweet person and had the SOFTEST HANDS. Truly a wonderful human being. Moses, if you ever read this - thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

While Moses has always been gorgeous and extraordinarily talented, his new physical form has garnered attention from popular culture. What I admire most, though he seems to revel in the new found attention, is that his musical and lyrical genius seems to only continue to evolve in ways that leave us ever in awe. He is a consummate artist; always pushing the threshold previous set by the previous work and ever developing vocally in an authentic way. I am a fan but not in the traditional sense of the word. I am a fan because I feel seen and given permission for continuous exploration; particularly as a black male. What a monument!
I tried to listen and write down the lyrics but I still can't figure out what he is saying at 1:11-1:17. If someone can figure that out for me please let me know! It's driving me nuts. I love this song and I would love to know all the lyrics.
Just listened to the song a bunch to try to write them out for you. here's what I came up with. Really hard to tell) I tried to explain my heart with my brain but my delusions are...(Not sure what the final word is) if you're not broken yet you'll never get the way my relationships are run and as a young boy, just a young boy, that went to the saints to soothe my soul (i think) everyone i love showed me that i was replaceable Chorus we're so replaceable x4 (The rest of the song seems improvised, not really lyrically driven. Just says the chorus)
oh, he sounds like ukrainian legendary duo 5'nizza, especially as in their old song what called Весна /'vesna' means 'springtime'/ and side project - Sunsay. But in Ukraine and Russia these guys do same music since 2001
Sounds like when he first records certain sections of the song (before they're looped), there's somebody else singing with him. I wonder if he used a Chorus Effect or if he pre-recorded other back up singers?
