    Before watching the movie with a friend, we both decided that Vronsky was awfully cast, he looked feminine, was blond (while in the original book his hair is darker and he's baldish), and looked like the opposite of the original character. We expected Keira to outweigh Aaron energetically in the movie. Boy were we wrong abt Vronsky! He was fantastic!!! 10 out of 10 of whatever. I don't know if it's the director's work or something else, but they created a whole new character, and the softness, sincerity, vibrance of the original character is all there - thanks for making this movie, it's a rare treat!

      I agree! I think he almost did better than Keira...she did an exceptional Anna as well.

    My husband looked like Aaron ( as Vronsky ) I love this movie because of the passion I lost my life love 2012 to ALS and i think of him daily this love story evokes deep passion.... a great love story indeed.............

    I think russian people are the only people more tortured than we, french people, are. When you read russian litterature and french litterature, the love story always end very badly, most of the time with death of the two characters. The first time I read Jane Austen I was very surprised that it ends so well, I was not used to it.

      German stories usually don't end good either xD Just saying.

    • @jiiris4195
      @jiiris4195 9 лет назад +5

      Same to some Chinese stories - end sadly. When I took English literature, my professor gave us an interesting point: every story has a same ending - characters died. She meant everybody will die in the end, no matter if they are happy or sad before that.

      +Vanille x I'd have to disagree, the Russian and French stories end in far more sorrow.

    The novel depicts Vronsky as a handsome, wealthy, and charming man who is as willing as Anna is to abandon social standing and professional status in pursuit of love.Vronsky’s devotion to Anna appears to wane in the later chapters of the novel, but much of this appearance stems from Anna's paranoid fears that he has fallen out of love with her. On the contrary, no indisputable evidence indicates that Vronsky loves Anna any less at the end. Certainly he cares for her more than ever: he outfits his country home luxuriously and elegantly, largely (it seems) in an attempt to make Anna happy. His commissioning of Anna’s portrait and his prominent display of it in their home suggests that he is still enraptured by her...

    Dios que actuaciones tan teatrales y los ritmos, los congelados que le dan una sutileza magnifica, el diseño de produccion es una cosa barbara y por supuesto Marianelli que siempre sera un genio musical... Querido Wright no seria lo mismo sin Marianelli y lo sabes... Aunque su narracion se queda corta en varios momentos, Visualmente es toda una obra y eso la hace fascinante. La ame!

    I think they both were really great. I actually think Aaron was better than keira acting wise, but as for physical appearance that is up to the director and for them to change his hair when he already has brown hair was clearly up to the director. SO I wouldn't judge the movie based on appearances.

    Did the people that made this movie even read the book?!?
    I'm shocked. Anna was an aristocrat, a wife of a count, a mother, a respected by a higher society lady. (Keira Knightley doesn't get the character at all!). Vronsky was a Count, a high-ranked officer, who had the looks and charms of a true 19th century gentleman. (Who is this silly boy with porn eyes who can only attract maybe a 16 y.o. at best?). Levin was a very wealthy landowner who resided in a country side estate to say the least. (What is this little cabin they're showing him in??). I could go on and on. This novel is supposed to be deep, heart wrenching, it's a true tragedy, in 19th century this type of situation was unheard of and could ruin reputations of multiple generations. This movie doesn't even touch you one bit, let alone portray any drama. Huge disappointment. Unbelievable.
