I usually don't like all instrumental albums but this one is an exception. And corrosion of conformity's live volume with Jimmy Bower on drums is absolutely scintillating. Bower Power.
Man, whoever Recorded/Mixed/Mastered this did an amazing job. All the instruments are clearly distinguishable and that Rickenbacker Bass really shines in the mix. Absolute love it!
I was just thinking the same thing...I listen to this hidden awesome band often....is it a bass or Hammond organ forward in the mix..and they back it down and bring it back when it's time for a guitar solo...absolutely perfect. This is one of the best albums I've ever heard
I grew up in New Orleans... remember when Paul was renting an apt in the French Quarter with Adam Landry, late 80's. Clearlight is the best of the bands that came out of nola, imo, followed by Exhorder. Funny that it was a casual side project. Perfect mix of Louisiana style Sabbathy, Deep Purple, Skynyrd'ish excellence.
I got turned on to these guys the same year i got turned on to Eyehategod,Buzzoven,Weedeater,Neurosis,Arson Anthem,Acid Bath,Goatehore,& Hank 3 with Assjack. Got turned onto all these guys when i was 18,in 2008 This is an incredible bluesy jam album.i love it. R.I.P. Joey Lacaze
this is so goddam awesome thanks to these guys for all these weed I smoke and hallucinogenique trip i did on this !!!! RIP JOEY LACAZE awesome job on that album !!!
Instrumental Heavyweight Bliss, theres a long history of instrumental works, now, Glad to see that INSTRUMENTALS are gaining momentum in popularity in the Heavy community . Hail thee Eternal Heavy 🔥
It just shows what a considered and talented drummer Lacaze was and how restrained he was playing with Eyehategod - the man had the fills to fit the bills but pared it down for the sludge - different kettle of fish with Clearlight, just let it flow!
Or you can go to a website called loudtronix. Com & punch in the name of the band & it will convert yhis whole album, from this page here, into an mp3 file which you can then burn on to a blank cd. I know if you are like me you'll prefer an actual official copy of the album, but it is hard to find and if you find it it's not cheap. I saw the vinyl for 60$ on amazon and the cds were all sold out. I have horrid luck on ebay. So maybe discogs, but if yoy don't mind waiting a month to get a copy from the Netherlands or Thailand, and risk the package getting lost in the mail. I ordered the first King Diamond album (Fatal Portrait) & Merciful Fate-Don't Break the Oath, and those are the 2 countries they came from. The Merciful Fate came from Thailand, but the Fatal Portrait album got lost in the mail coming from the Netherlands. I was unable to get a response from the seller. Anyways, best of luck to ya. Hope you find a copy that you're looking for. ✌
This so needs a vinyl repress.
RIP JOE LACAZE
What a fantastic drummer!

I was fortunate to see COC live with Jimmy Bower on drums at Club DV8 in Salt Lake City in the late 90's!
@@christianpage5569 That's cool. I live in Layton. Grew up in Ohio though. Been in Utah for 15 years.
@@norman9291 Nice, I'm in Kaysville. Small world!
COC live volume when 13 angels drops into 7 days is absolutely huge

Dave Fortman. He used to play in Ugly Kid Joe back in the 90s.

Man, that's awesome, their bassist rocks!
Yep! Sounds to me like he was heavily influenced by Geezer Butler.

At times it sounds like influence comes from Iron Butterfly and Rammstein or something like that..
