What you see is very symbolic and metaphorical...at the end he says: “you are too far...you are too far...you are too far...” it is basically what you have already lost or out of reach... For Persians like myself being out of Iran for frothy two years this Avant-garde impression makes sense...
Tree is symbol of root (county, culture, history etc...) so that guy in a little boat with a tree means he carries his root, taking a big risk to get to a safe place.
This band is awesome. They are talented and very creative. Hell, I went to one of they're concert and the guy saying the meanings at the background played a saw (yes saw!!!!!) using the bow of a violin
this song makes me so sad. one of tge passengers of the plane that was shoted at had this song in his post of instagram and this reminds me of that tragedy.
Thanks for the reaction! For me it carries a melancholic feeling which I connect to personal loss in my life. Sometimes its nice to acknowledge the pains in life, music helps . On another note Rastak is another band you haven't reacted to yet ,they play different folk music of different regions in Iran, you might enjoy it.
I get a feeling that the lyrics and video have a political annotation, encouraging the viewer to read between the lines as it were. I may be wrong; but either way it's a clever stuff. Thanks Mace, it's a good find mate.
You got the meaning fairly well👌🏻 No offence but I think only a hurt Iranian understands the sarrow and the regret behind these lyrics and song. It’s about leaving everything behind to just have those simple things that others normally have; leaving your family, beloved ones, all you’ve got to know, all you have so far achieved, and simply your country, the only place that is supposed to protect you, behind just because a minority of bigoted people do not let you live your life. I left all of them behind and am living it at the moment. So I deeply feel every single word sung in it. I only want to ask 3 question from those selfish people: why should it be that hard for you to let people live their life? Why should a nation, my people, carry the heavy burden of lonliness and regret on their shoulders? Why should so many young and motivated people have to leave their own country? Thanks for the reaction by the way🙏🏻👌🏻 And sorry if my comment is bitter. But it’s only because the song, the video and your reaction touched a wounded part of my soul.
You should also react to “nusrat fateh ali khan - ne man behoode girde” a very underrated pakestani singer, mohammad shajarian have also made a very intresting mix with one of his songs named “sholevar” you can check that out as well
Could you please make a reaction of “az pisham naro” of Bomrani as well? It is a deep one. The video was made after the iran’s regime crushed the ukrainian airplain down. Through the accident, 82 Iranians,, 63 Canadaians, 11 Ukrainians, 10 Swedes, as well as Afghans, Germans, and British nationals were killed. It is made in honor of all those ones who were killed by this deadly action. It hurt the whole world, and iranians 100 times more. It would be a great way to show the world how really my people feel and are living through. Thank you in advance🙏🏻⭐️
Don't Leave My Side Hello my dear I am not a good person I'm not who you think I am I'm not a hero, I'm not a sacrificer I'm not concerned about loneliness and the world's misfortunes I'm not the person in your nightly dreams I don't deserve your beauty at all I'm not honest, I'm not virtuous There's no way, I am nothing No, don't leave my side Don't leave my side Don't leave my side Don't leave my side Unlike the world's greatest architects I don't build you pretty houses Unlike lovers in movies and novels I don't engage in a love battle I don't have love poems in my pocket Yet I have a lot to tell you Let me be the one for you Who shouts he is nobody No, don't leave my side Don't leave my side Don't leave my side Don't leave my side Let me be nobody Let me have no name Let me be the greatest nothing of the world Just to have you My lips have no nice words to preach My hands don't have your hand to hold Stay so that I can say once again That I am nothing, nothing, nothing for you No, don't leave my side Don't leave my side Don't leave my side Don't leave my side Don't leave my side Don't leave my side Don't leave my side Don't leave my side Don't leave my side Don't leave my side Don't leave my side Don't leave my side Don't leave lyricstranslate.com
I am not sure if everybody could connect to this type of music as it is too surreal thus far from mainstream. I am as confused as you about its meaning.

As you said, it is Avant garde... Not specific, but sometimes beautiful. Enjoy brother.

Don't Leave My Side
Hello my dear
I am not a good person
I'm not who you think I am
I'm not a hero, I'm not a sacrificer
I'm not concerned about loneliness and the world's misfortunes
I'm not the person in your nightly dreams
I don't deserve your beauty at all
I'm not honest, I'm not virtuous
There's no way, I am nothing
No, don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Unlike the world's greatest architects
I don't build you pretty houses
Unlike lovers in movies and novels
I don't engage in a love battle
I don't have love poems in my pocket
Yet I have a lot to tell you
Let me be the one for you
Who shouts he is nobody
No, don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Let me be nobody
Let me have no name
Let me be the greatest nothing of the world
Just to have you
My lips have no nice words to preach
My hands don't have your hand to hold
Stay so that I can say once again
That I am nothing, nothing, nothing for you
No, don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Don't leave my side
Don't leave
