During his short career, which lasted about ten years, Vincent Van Gogh produced more than 900 paintings. Full of naturalism, his painting is inspired by impressionism and pointillism, then evolves towards fauvism and expressionism. His life, worthy of a romantic hero, made him a myth, that of the misunderstood painter or the accursed artist. Almost unknown during his lifetime outside the artistic world, he is today one of the best known and most appreciated painters on the art market.
