Avh didn’t expect to win because brez got first in the wildcards and was the favorite going into this battle. Brez said that after his sound check at the event it left him feeling unconfident so he changed his volume settings on his songs leading to a worse mix and feedback. Avh won because he had the best mix for the loop category and performed both his rounds without any mistakes and completely seamlessly. Hard to admit since I’m a huge brez fan, but avh did take this just because of how clean he was, that cleanliness of sound is its own type of complexity.

Bare in mind that live brez mixing sounded so off, as much as i like the guy, but for me, I was so surprised by the quality of music AVH showed. I would pay to attend an AVH concert it sounds like a real DJ set.

And Brez did mess up his recording in the beginning of the first round and had a slight mixup in the middle. Both of AVH's rounds were clean. As many have stated, Brez changed his mix based on sound check. He also had posted before GBB that he was going through some medical issues. I think it was a tight battle, but I would give the edge to AVH as well based off clean performance alone but repeating a previous performance (which I believe we will see again in later rounds) to me should score nothing for the round.

The judges are heavy favoriting an even mix this year and probably for future events as well. You’ll watch some other loop battles where you think someone might have taken it because they “did better” but their mix was worse so they lose. Also BP a split decision is any decision that’s not unanimous…
I think AVH was overall better.. more rhythmically appealing. Brez 2nd round last half was amazing. but I think they were judging overall. I think recency bias plays a big part in who the crowd n judges tend to lean to.. just not this time

So apparently Brez made a sound adjustment just a few hours before they went on and live it did not sound like it does in this video. And AVH was flawless. You can read the comments of the main videos and usually the loopers themselves will give a little explanation. Love the content my guy.
