THANK YOU!! My partner moved to NYC a few months ago and I have been struggling trying to find good places to eat every time I visit from Toronto! Breakfast/brunch/lunch on the weekends has honestly been the hardest thing for me to find, so I super appreciate the bagel reccos and the French pastry spots! I can't wait to try!
I legit ONLY trust you with food options when I’m in NY. On vacation this summer I went to most of these places and HANDSSSS DOWN best nachos EVER were from Jajaja! Best burger I’ve ever had was from Jerrell’s. My husband still talks about them. I’ve even driven the 2 hours to just pick up lunch at some of your recommendations. Soooo appreciate what you do because years ago when I first went vegan and didn’t know about your page I had some horrendous vegan food experiences in NY. Now I go solely for your food recommendations. Even my husband says “so where is bodega cat taking us for lunch today?” 🤣 love & appreciate you sooo much!
I’ve been to Planta Queen…the Spicy Tuna and Torched and Pressed are delicious…my favorite roll is the Eggplant Unagi by far…I had the Dan Dan Noodles, I was disappointed…I don’t like that mix of wheat and coconut…I’d give it an 8 out of 10 but I wouldn’t get it again
TofuBox in Williamsburg is so so good. Cheap vegan Chinese food. The box sets are to die for. Also, Mala project isn’t fully vegan but definitely my favorite restaurant in the whole city.
Oh man. You definitely needed to mention modern love. I’ve been vegan 7 years and I can say without a doubt they have the best vegan soul food (and nachos, better than Jajaja!) Great list regardless though!
Actually in Italy they have pizza that has no cheese only tomato so it would be so lovely to try for a tourist . No seasoning either or herbs or spices. They like food plain there contrary to what westerners think
My husband & I watched all your videos before we went to NYC for our 10th wedding anniversary in March. We went to Jerrell’s (my husband still dreams about it), JaJaJa (the nachos were INSANE and cannot be beat, Orchard’s Grocer, Tompkins Sq (the BEST bagels I’ve ever had - nothing in the UK can compare!) and we also went to Coletta which we loved. I’d like to be buried with their tiramisu 😂. I trust your recommendations 100% and only wish I could go back to all those places and the ones I missed out on! Thank you for your amazing videos Rebecca.
This is such a helpful video, thankyou for giving such great details about each place. I have one question, where do you suggest for a health spot? I dont know if it makes sense, but you know that feeling where youve eaten out so much that you feel kinda sick and bleurgh, and just want healthy fresh food/home made?
Most of these look like way too miuch carb and suger and not enough nutrition for me. I also do not like things like fake meat or fake dairy, or soy or tofu. I am looking for a place that has rice or potato concoctions with nuts or legumes, mushrooms, seeds, vegetables, garlic ginger turmeric healthy oils (but not deep fried or covered in batter). And fruits. Food that is vegan but also filling and good for your heart immune system gut, energy, muscles, etc.
Maki Monday at PLANTA Queen was a great tip! Half-price Maki rolls was a good deal, but UNLIMITED Maki rolls for $27 was a steal! Thank you Vegan Bodegacat!!
Thanks so much for all the great recs! We visited NYC in May and tried a bunch of different spots you've recommended previously and they were all great. (I'm still dreaming of Le Petit Monstre.) Can't wait to go back and try more.
I had not heard of Pia before watching this video and went there to try it, but tbh it was pretty bad. The tamale I got was kind of hard on the outside and wet/undercooked in the middle. Jajaja is way, way better.
I wish I got paid for the amount of times I had to have this conversation 😭😂 I understand “J” is “h” in Spanish. But no, the restaurant Jajaja is pronounced with J. Not H. The owners named it with a J sound.
Randomly came across this channel but in the future check out “FoodForNegus” in Brooklyn. Small shop but very tasty food with freshly made beverages. You won’t be disappointed.
Amazing recommendations as always Rebecca! Unfortunately I'm not going to NY any time soon :( I'm going to New Orleans in 1 week for few days and than to Ocean Springs in Mississippi for 2 weeks, does anyone know any vegan places there ? Thanks! I'm from Poland btw. ❤
Thanks for the amazing & delicious spots in NYC, Brooklyn born 🗽 and Hey I didn’t know you were that vegan couple too @sweetsimplevegan !! That’s awesome love that 🙌🏼
Whenever I'm in midtown I stop by vegan on the fly. banger. thanks for the recs, I think my life goal is to make it down to brooklyn one of these weekends and hit up screamer's they look so good in your vids
I'm coming to NY soon & I'm literally gobbling up all your NYC content on food! This comes in handy after my in depth research of vegan places to eat at haha! Thank you!
since we’ll be in NYC in like two weeks I was wondering if I could get some not-so-much-food advice but more touristy advice. is it a thing for New Yorkers to go to some kind of (sports) bar on sundays to watch football? if so, are there recommendations for such bars? 😅
I will probably never visit NY, I don't travel and I will never have the kind of money it takes to stay there but I still find these videos entertaining.
It’s the pen in your hand for me. It’s giving : she’s done her research 🙌🏼

Awwwww this made my day! Im so glad you find my recs useful!
Veganism is rising and thriving while carnism is trying and dying! WE ARE VEGAN! WE ARE PROUD! AS VEGANISM RISES WE GET MORE LOUD!!!!
Queens? Gotta be something in Queens!
Hey hey, I spotted Jasmine and Chris 😬 I’m totally using this video to make my list next time I visit New York. I’ve only been once 😄
Please do!

Phenomenal reviews! Wish there were legit vegan stops around Lincoln Square
TofuBox in Williamsburg is so so good. Cheap vegan Chinese food. The box sets are to die for.

Nice 👌 #vegan 🐓🐄🐇🐟🦆

Love them! Although I cant agree the nachos are better than jajaja. Jajaja nacho supremacy.

@@bodegacatx

Oooo dammmn... I finally rounded up some peeps to do an NYC vegan food tour. We'll be starting with this list!

Jerrell’s is THE BEST

Great places. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Two Boots has locations in Manhattan for great vegan pizza options! Lots of fun toppings
Yum
I'm grateful for this video
You're welcome!
I had not heard of Pia before watching this video and went there to try it, but tbh it was pretty bad. The tamale I got was kind of hard on the outside and wet/undercooked in the middle. Jajaja is way, way better.
Oh goodness. Sucks you had that experience. I haven’t tried the tamale but the quesadilla, burrito and corn I had were delicious
Does Roberto have a channel? Love yours too!
Yes! It’s “whatsgoodberto”
She said "JAHJAHJAH"!!!
AWESOME!
Thank you for this video.
Btw, it's pronounced "hahaha".

@@bodegacatx But it's a mexican spot, no?
Great choices! Have you been to the newly reopened ATM Vegan Deli? I think their BEC and the Miles from OG are the best breakfast sandwiches around.
I haven't been to it in person but I order from them some times! So good.
Love the recommendations. I'll be in NY on March 😊 Definitely I'll taste every place 🤭
Enjoy!!

Did anywhere good close? (Forever RIP to Rip's Malt Shop)
I should do a whole vid on that!

Mora Pizza is no longer in NYC

I am so impressed how many foods are now vegan naturally like these raisin buns, cheesy pizza and so on.wow. Never could have imagined 15years ago

Sorry, I know such bars exist but I dont know of them!
FYI spicy moon doesn’t have the eggplant bun anymore :(
Oh I totally forgot. Thanks for reminding me!
Could you try sestina - I am craving some vegan gnocchi. Heard that it’s the same chef in Double Zero and Bar Verde. All three are next to each other!
I’ve been! But I don’t think bar Verde is owned by the same guy anymore.
I will probably never visit NY, I don't travel and I will never have the kind of money it takes to stay there but I still find these videos entertaining.

Perfect 👍 my husband wants to go to New York this month he wants to go to Coney Island have you been there and if so what do you think?
Honestly, eat before you go. Coney island is not very vegan friendly unfortunately
