  • The Baltimore Bridge, or better known as the Key Bridge, opened to the public in 1977.
The bridge is a tribute to Francis Scott Key, a 19th-century Maryland poet who wrote the lyrics to the US national anthem, the Star Spangled Banner.
The bridge is 2,632 meters long, crossing the Patapsco River and Baltimore Harbor. The river flows into the Chesapeake Bay, the largest estuary in the US.
This bridge is described as a continuous truss bridge. Its 365 meter main span is the third longest in the world for a bridge of this type.
